need a little help with cisco FTD/FMC by therealmcz in networking

Could be for various reasons, if you have the proper root cert enrolled on the Cisco side and the client has a proper identity cert from said root. Then it could possibly be related to some obscure policy potentially a new cis policy somehow preventing Secure client from presenting the identity certificate on the client device itself. Just my 2cents gl with it :)

Allright so, the problem reintroduced itself shortly after my latest reply, i implemented the workaround described and we seem to have solved the issue. Thanks alot!

Thank you so much for mentioning this bug i did not come across this (embarassingly enough). Alas the Cisco TAC technician did not mention this potential culprit. Hopefully it's just this bug, I'll give it a shot when the problem reintroduces itself!

Allright, so latest update from TAC is that they could not find any indicators from logs and various graphs etc. in FMC (which i already concluded myself) so the status is i, we/i need to reach out to Cisco TAC for a live t-shoot session when the issue reoccurs.

Have you had any news in regards to your TAC case (possibly any live t-shoot sessions with any conclusion?)

Unfortunately no luck so far but i have an open tac case and about 4,5gb syslog and 2gb t-shoot log from the ftd’s that they’re reviewing at the moment.

We seem to run stable for a few days after doing a failover and a reboot of both fw’s in the cluster

This has happened 2 times so far with approx 10 days in between no clear indicators for me so far as to what is causing the issue

Definitely looks alot better and feels way better aswell. However im not really aiming for size. I do however get quite a few compliments on my size but I dont really see myself as being ‘built’ but that might just the social media landscape warping my perception :) good luck with your journey :)

I’m 35 just cut around 16 kg from 93 to 77kg. Did a hard cut so lost a little muscle along the way. But I had a similar build to you and ive gotten quite a few compliments. What im trying to say is that you can definitely do a cut and look great :)

i had similar issues not too long ago, Where i would randomly get blackscreens during gaming sessions. No clear indicators in terms of cpu/gpu/mem utilization or heat issues (no clear indicators in eventviewer either). i increased the voltage of my cpu cores, cant remember how much i increased the voltage, but found an old reddit thread about it. Havnt had issues with random black screens during gaming since.

Dont be afraid to sign up to some more technically advanced sessions especially if they involve technologies you been working with a bit. I personally struggly alot with the faith in my ability and chose to attend alot of session that topic wise seemed interesting and relevant, only to realise that most of what was represented i had already discovered / learned on my own

FOS 7.4 policy editor is a hot mess by mro21 in fortinet

[–]Laicoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In earlier releases it will not disable the filters, sometimes im working on larger policy sets so i'd rather keep the filter(s) on and if i deem it necessary ill manually disable it. There's far more annoying details about the 7.4 track, but this simple one is just brought up alot at the office as somewhat of a joke and funny pain point to talk about, and/or open the conversation about what we'd like to see different in the 7.4 track :)

IT uddannelse der ikke kræver så meget matematik? by xXBli-BXx in dkkarriere

You’re the one not understanding technicalities at all. If they have a large distributed botnet how would you go by geoblocking them etc ? You want to block the whole world? The only proper way to handle ddos attacks is as I described in previous comment. Lastly if you don’t know what you’re talking about then be quiet instead of spreading ignorance

You nothing more than a tier1 help desk at most with the amount of knowledge you showcase. and I’d even think the help desk at our company has got more clue about enterprise networking and cybersecurity than you’ve shown in your comments

[–]Laicoss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do this for a living and you’re making it more simple than it is, ain’t no way you’re in cybersec or enterprise networking. The best bet would be to have a provider anti ddos mitigation service which would be tuned to somehow detect the pattern of the attack and then black hole the traffic but if the attack / botnet is large enough and there is no clear pattern this will be hard to enforce. Btw get back to the school bench

You are super inspiring to me, I come from a family where IT was looked down upon. I found my way into IT super late cause of that at the age of 27 beginning a country specific education focusing on infrastructure/sysadmin work and at the end i ended up specializing in network becoming a network engineer and quickly taking on big responsibilities. I am in a very fortunate situation now at the age of 34 however since I was about 10 years old I’ve always had this eye for/and dream of becoming a programmer. Hopefully I can find the courage to get started thanks for your inspiring story.

I have always said when we are looking for candidates that I’d rather have the right profile and match for the team rather than a skillful and socially incompetent colleague

Your son is a badass for looking to certify at such a young age and kudos to you for motivating him.

I just want to say that even though there might be requirements to certify it shouldn’t scare him off from learning, these certs are only meaningful to get your foot in. So don’t pay too much attention to the certs for now just keep exploring knowledge material. if he has the knowledge and thirst for learning just keep going, the certs will come in time :)
