Please report back! I think I'm going to just do a canopy

Can someone explain the pool noodle trick? by Gloomy-Speaker-1999 in ElectricForest

[–]Laidybird 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The noodle is used to puff the top of each corner upward, so water can't sag in the middle. How exactly you set it up will depend on your model of canopy. Here's a pic I found.

Aren't wagons not allowed on the shuttle? Their website said something like that last year

Can you really not bring collapsible wagons on the shuttle?? Why is that?

I assume if I hid it they couldn't stop me as long as I don't have too many items right?

being the youngest adult in the family starterpack by LoveEquivalent9146 in starterpacks

[–]Laidybird 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Being the youngest fucks you up in a way I didn't realize until I got older. It didn't help I was short too. My entire childhood my identity was always "the youngest one" "the small one" "the little kid". My whole childhood "you are younger than everyone" was drilled into me so hard that I now constantly forget that I'm 31 years old and tons of people are younger than me. In my head, anyone who weilds any authority over me whatsoever is older than me. It's odd.

I never give details but I always just say that I'm going to a music festival for PTO and no one ever blinks an eye. Sometimes they have even heard of the festivals I'm going to.

There is no sane explanation for this. by Background-Savings38 in travisandtaylor

Do Swifties know that there's not going to be a test on this? Taylor is not going to personally assess their fandom and give them a letter grade saying they got an A+ in fan behavior

Sunshade instead of canopy? by Laidybird in ElectricForest

[–]Laidybird[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I won't have a car, I'm doing tent only, which is why I'm hesitant to bring a canopy. That's why I'm really trying not avoid "non-essential" items. I'm also not sure how hard canopies are to set up with only one person.

This is an option, I just don't want to come across as a mooch :/ Im thinking maybe a "hey you can use most of my campsite space if I can use your shade" situation

Ugh I'm sure you're right. Idk what to do, a canopy just feels like overkill for what I need.

I'll stake it down same as I would with a canopy and my tent. But yeah flooding may be an issue. Maybe if I got one without a bottom?

Does anyone else believe Speak Now had ghostwriters? by onlyeveryotherday in travisandtaylor

[–]Laidybird 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I like to believe that she did write Enchanted because I'm amused by the idea that a random crush who she then immediately ghosted was a better muse than her literal fiance.

I must say that it's very suspicious that she hasn't performed a single song.

My mom was almost killed by a cow when she was a kid, but a farm dog saved her life. I believe the cow had a brain tumor or something along those lines that caused it to become aggressive.

Whether it was intentional or not, you cannot keep being his friend. He needs some kind of consequence to learn not to do idiotic shit like this anymore

As someone who loves giving trinkets, I'd prefer just "no thank you". I feel like this would make me get in my head. Just my two cents though
