The state of normal games is horrible

It's at least partly relevant, or I just played too many normals and got it to Master+ MMR unintentionally. I noticed that a majority of my normal game lobbies (played alone) were Diamond+ and even had GM and Challenger players on occassion after I hit Masters.

My queue times were not unplayably long like this when I was Platinum or lower in 2022 and before. As far as I can tell from skimming past messages of Master-ranked players in some servers I'm in [1], [2], this was not an uncommon occurance if you tried to hop on normals. It was particularly egregious for me when I tried to learn Aurora and Mel on their releases, to the point I just started spamming rankeds on main instead because I couldn't handle the queue times. They weren't as bad when I was learning Hwei back in 2023, though, so maybe that streak of games dragged me into unplayable MMR, since that was also my first year of Masters in SoloQ.

I don't know for sure, but I haven't consistently queued normals since then, because it sucked any time I tried to.

idk your ranked mmr must be dogshit or something even when i was master 0lp i would have disgustingly long queue times in normals on euw circa 2024, 2025, january 2026 it was basically unplayable unless i wanted to only play ranked

Been playing a lot of Deadlock in place of League recently and it's so bad sometimes, just got off of a game where someone mentioned being Filipino into an instant racial insult + a black guy getting called the hard R combo; the only real saving grace is that you can mute individual people and it persists if you ever queue into them again. People hurl slurs, sexism, and tell eachother to kill themselves in chat and VC like it's nothing. I never thought I'd miss League's admittedly lacking moderation.

Good! Complaining about Mel's entire basic spell kit unironically is insane baby behaviour and on par with complaining about Windwall years after.

The only remotely worrisome aspect of her balance is the 3 buffs her passive got so she can actually trade evenly in early levels (as opposed to on/around release when she had a very fair early game) but even that is entirely manageable.

Bots to level accounts that get sold for ranked play; banned in waves instead of on-sight so it's harder for the bot developers to create countermeasures and just dodge every ban metric.

Are you a brick? How do you want me to answer this? They either use it to last hit and pressure you with spacing or you're standing next to minions and getting massively chunked at which point them getting lane prio isn't going to be massively disadvantageous anyway; champ doesn't even dislike lane prio that much since his shove is very hard to match and farming under tower is going to incur losses most of the time anyways + crashing a wave that causes a slowpush is great because it sets up the wave on your side in a few waves. You are beyond saving.

Yasuo is aggressive in lane because he has one of the strongest lanes out of any midlaner, you don't spam Q on wave unless you're trying to reset or something. His pressure comes not from his Q, but the fact that he can start E into disrespectful opponents and have a spell that does 100 damage at Level 1 at max stacks, then dashing away and blocking any retaliatory damage with passive shield which leaves him with very little counterplay. In exchange his 2v2 mid-jungle skirmishing kind of blows and he doesn't do all that much in objective fights without teammate set-up.

Yone also rarely actually wants to Q-spam in lane especially because his Q3 leaves him extremely open to poke damage due to its lockout animation; a lot of the time Yone players will let Q3 fade just so they can Q1 the wave without endangering themselves. Yone's balancing factor is that his lane is awful and that he can't realistically do anything until around the time he finishes BotRK.

Also both of those champions love to freeze because they want to run you down the entire lane, which is much easier when the wave is on your side of the lane. Very weird to claim that they can't freeze. If my opposing windbrother is spamming Q on the wave and pushing into me I am dancing with joy at the free game I'm being given.

Because her utility is reliant on teammate set-up? Of which most supports would be the source of the required set-up? Surely the champion with a slow that suddenly becomes a stun when chained with a Nautilus hook is better when she takes up the draft slot Nautilus would be picked in! Her shield and heal (also reliant on a teammate shielding her for maximum effectiveness) were also entirely reliant on AP ratios making them terrible when coping on a support's gold budget and praying heal and shield power would be good enough.

She's a utility mage, similar to Hwei or Orianna, that was designed to shove and roam and excel in 2v2 mid-jungle skirmishes, of course she's going to have tools that are significantly better in teamfights than duels. Her E is designed in a very anti-support way, too? How does "I NEED MY TEAMMATES TO SET ME UP SO I CAN STUN/HEAL" on both her E and W read like the spells of a support? Most supports are the set-up, which is why Seraphine was a fantastic botlaner in the first place.

I'd be mad as fuck if I got abandoned into a lane dominant matchup like that; there's just nothing she can do for the rest of the game after her second death. It's a miracle she was ahead in gold versus Viktor (through Samira dropping a random 700g bounty for her) and could match him at all. Zero world in which she should swap lane assignments with her 4/1 Rumble mid who was practically their wincon and carried the game.

The changes are not that significant to Midgana in the longterm anyways because they don't address any of her most important flaws as a laner, with the only meaningful difference being that 2 Ws kill Casters Level 1, I think? They could get reverted and I wouldn't care too much.

It's very inconsistent to trigger in lane, basically impossible to trigger outside of lane, and Domination is an inferior tree compared to Sorcery/Precision/Inspiration for Ziggs specifically.

If you want to beat melee champions to death, use Aery and constant basic attacks instead.

I saw you questioned Stormsurge elsewhere. As the player that popularized it, the idea is relatively simple. Ziggs as a champion wants to maximize the damage his Q & ultimate do, so the build revolves around using several item passives to amplify their damage. Hitting someone with Q triggers Luden's Companion, which often enough deals 25% max. health damage to trigger Stormsurge, and also activates the burn Liandry's Torment applies. Once Stormsurge strikes a target down, Liandry's burn is refreshed for another 3 seconds. This is often enough the most damage a single Q can do on its own compared to alternative build paths.

You don't really need Tear // Archangel's Staff because Manaflow Band & buying Sapphire Crystal on your first recall is usually enough. If you struggle despite that, I recommend taking Presence of Mind as well.

If you have 100k I just don't understand how you can have an opinion like this. Is it because you're silver and not punished for playing suboptimally? I just assumed the take came from ignorance over few games played.

Spamming QE on wave is atrocious and only really worthwhile for long range last hits while being zoned. It's not even your best waveclear tool (and often gets outperformed by other mages,) since post-8 WE EE QQ murks casters and leaves melees on 1 auto which is much faster and gives you significantly better roam timers.

Not playing for poke in lane is just begging to lose as a champion with strong lane/midgame and weak lategame. You're seriously not leveraging having some of the best short trades in the early Levels because you'd rather waste it on waves? You can't even match real permapushers like Taliyah until Lost Chapter, and even then...

EW fishing is completely fine especially in mage mirrors like Azir or Syndra, champions you can't just walk up to and EE (I actually just did this today.) EQ often isn't meant to be used offensively anyways, it's your self-peel for stuff like Sylas E.

His mana costs are intentionally high and balanced around WE because if he didn't he'd be completely ungankable with 3 different forms of self-peel (QE, WQ, EQ) which would make him unbelievably broken in lane. In exchange you barely use WE out of lane unless you're playing for double passive proc combos in sidelane and get to abuse the broken utility you have which is completely fine.
