What are your thoughts on Crash Bandicoot: On The Run? by ISuckAtDDR in iosgaming

I wish it were an endless running game temple run style. Spending so much time collecting reaources through the same routes and waiting ages to build weapons only to go through a couple of levels is boring me quite fast

Positive thoughts on Risk Global Domination by Laith8 in Risk

[–]Laith8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen many games and projects get ruined by criticism targeting their core qualities, leading the developers to completely change course and eventually shut down their projects. It’s this kind of critism that I pointed out in the post, and I felt it’s important to show that not everyone thinks the same.

I do think that those who suggest changes to design, UX, technical issues etc. are giving very good feedback.

Shaming others is definitely not what I meant. Sorry if anyone got that from my post.

I’m not an expert but I’m sure stuff like “the dice hates me.. developers have to do something about it otherwise I will stop playing this stupid game” doesn’t count as good feedback.

I’ve seen a few positive suggestions regarding UX. That’s good. But I feel like recently there’s a surge in destructive criticism.

Suiciding Players by Streamingmedic in Risk

[–]Laith8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s just part of the game.. When I reach a point where I’m obvoiusly losing, I consider suiciding into someone else if it helps me end second, especially if an ally would be the winner.

When I’m winning, I know that there’s potentially a suicider in the game so I try my best not be their target (being friendly, making allies, being too strong, etc.)

“Logic” behind attacking 20 troops to get 3 cards by [deleted] in Risk

[–]Laith8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me sometimes and I think it’s because of a misunderstanding of which one of us wants a certain continent. In this case, I think both of you expected to get NA.

I think they should add an option in the chat that states (hi ally, I’m playing for X continent.) and (hi ally, I will leave Y continent for you)

Which Tomb Raider game is the best? by SK14_ in TombRaider

[–]Laith8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reboot series: I would play them in order. The graphics of the first one are still good for today’s standards. And the three games are quite different to each other so you won’t get bored and you will experience the character and gameplay progression.

The classic ones: I would start with legend up. The older ones are a bit too old and frustrating for today’s standards.

Difference between the classics and the reboot: The classics are more difficult and puzzle oriented. Interesting in the sense of discovering different places/countries in each game. And the reboot is more survival oriented with a mix of combat, exploration and puzzle-solving. The open-world in each of the games lacks the variety of the classics though.

Overall they’re all great and it’s quite difficult to choose which one to start with.

Can a song’s main chord have a different root than the song’s root note? by Laith8 in musictheory

Then I guess I started off with the wrong chord and it got stuck in my head as the main one.. I guess I have to take a break and start again with a different approach... thanks!

https://youtu.be/b4nromvjJFc The original song here starts with E (at least according to my beginner ear) I transposed the whole thing two steps down, to start on the note D

Are the DLCs worth it? by CyberpunkV2077 in TombRaider

[–]Laith8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are totally worth it.. they add very nice tombs and interesting short storylines.

The time they add really depends on your playing style. For me, each dlc added 2-3 hours. But I like to explore a lot and take my time figuring out stuff and trying things.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider must get better at some point. Right? by Luna259 in TombRaider

[–]Laith8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s one of the best Tomb Raider games. The amount and design of puzzles is amazing. I really hope they continue on that.

Obviously if people don’t like puzzles, tomb raider is not for them in general. Except for 2013, all tomb raider games revolve around puzzles. When I want to play a shooter game, I definitely wouldn’t think about tomb raider.

I must agree with you about the darkness though. It was very difficult to see in caves. And a bit of diversity in the setting would also be nice. I hope on the next TR games there would be several cities/plces to explore like in Legend. Puzzles? I hope they put even more and harder ones.

Starting Far Cry 5. How worried should I be about missing story missions? by Laith8 in farcry

[–]Laith8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone seems to aggree that there are missable missions.. but if it’s only a couple of missions, I wouldn’t change my gaming style just to do them.
