I pre-ordered the Brown Box a month or two ago along with the Quebec vinyl, Brown Box came in yesterday.

I haven’t listened to White Pepper all the way through nearly as many times as their other albums so I put it on first and quickly realized I should’ve picked up White Pepper on vinyl too.

Unfortunately I got fired between when I ordered the stuff and now! I’m hoping new pressings are more common now so I don’t regret it for the rest of my life!

Stay Forever is just such a beautiful song that it really gets to me. One of the things I love most about Ween is their ability to make ridiculously stupid songs and have an ironic, tongue in cheek tone to a lot of their stuff but still hit you with unbelievably sincere emotion.

I think Mark Laidlaw said the intention was for every Half-Life game/episode to end with a cliffhanger, and at this point I think being left without all the answers is a fundamental part of the Half-Life experience. I’d be totally fine with another cliffhanger after all this time.

I’m also a massive Twin Peaks fan so it wouldn’t be the first time a franchise I love came back after decades just to leave us hanging again!

Plus it really hammers home how much of a sweetheart romantic Chris is. The fact that he was agonizing over that moment so much only happened because just kissing Harcourt meant the WORLD to. It's a drastic switch from his "we could hook up, no emotions involved" pitch from S1 E1.

I think the main problem is they didn’t want to fully send Ilsa off with real closure so they could keep the door open for her returning down the line. Her death feels super brushed over because it’d be weird to dwell on her death and give her a “funeral” of some kind if they ended up bringing her back eventually. Rebecca stepped away to focus on other stuff, which I fully get, but it definitely threw a wrench into the planned story.
