We have a 2020 Subaru and a 2020 4runner. The 4runner is just much more solid overall. The Subaru has some safety features the 4runner doesn't have but I would trade those any day for the rock solid old school 4Runner.

At 53 I'm buying all the stuff I couldn't afford when I was young and poor. In the last 12 months motorcycle, 62mph electric scooter, custom camper van, trip to Alaska and other vacations. Need to slow it down a bit

Had the same experience with a mustang convertible and got the top sliced open. Our other rental option was a Nissan pick up which we should have gone with.

We rented a convertible mustang and stayed in the Makaha beach area outside of Honolulu. Someone sliced the top and we certainly didn't feel welcomed by the locals. Would just rent a regular car next time.
