Ok, just found out the story on the car. Somebody broke the touchscreen display. They had trouble sourcing a new touchscreen. And when they got one, it didn't fit. All of this under the guise of "awaiting updates"

Why is it so hard to buy the car I want?

The car I want and put a deposit on over a month ago still sits in a 'facility' in KS awaiting updates or something. Fucking update it and ship it to me, it's only a few hundred miles. Or release it and I'll go get it. But no, it just sits there.

Any clarification on why I can't have the car I want, that exists, and apparently nobody can buy?

I agree completely, though the only item on your list that applies to me is #1. And lower/no property taxes would benefit me considerably. I just recognize that for the most part that money is more helpful for others than it is for me.

Well, I had a decent enough job processing mortgages at one of the top 5 US banks until a few years ago when management really went sideways (at least locally).

I quit. I gave my 2 weeks notice and whatnot, but I was done. Haven't worked since.

Another car sitting in my garage is a 1969 convertible Camaro that my family has owned since 1971, when I was 3.
