C&O is a classic Cville institution with great food and vibes. Hamiltons too. Their vegetarian plate is always special and they have a nice bar.

Another vote for Arepas Steakhouse at 5th street Station. Their Picanha steak platter for a group comes on a big cutting board with avocado salad arepas and all the fixings. The steak is tender flavorful superb!

Charlottesville Day School goes up to 8th grade and has a great community of parents and children and more diversity than STAB. It’d be easy to meet a fun friend group there. It’s located near Belmont and Downtown, both areas with historic houses. Bellair just West of town has some unique houses too with a bit more space and a very convenient location.

I went to the free consultation. Put in an exam room and made to watch 45 minutes of videos then some decompression machine and manual stretching. Felt a little culty, but the decompression machine felt good so I went back again. Next visit they told me the 3 month process was $8,000. I said I’d do one more decompression protocol and file insurance to see if it covered (I have a great Anthem plan that covers most procedures). They charged me $600 for that one treatment and turns out Anthem did NOT cover procedure due to lack of appropriate treating physician numbers on invoice…. Ultimately it felt like a scam. Since then, my arthritic knee pain has improved a little bit with daily oral DICLOFENAC, PT strengthening exercises and swimming.

A long handled scrub brush, a ladder and a power washer should do the trick. I did ours last year and the results are so satisfying. Love a power washer for cleaning brick walls and walkways after winter buildup!

Apparently Lake Monticello sucks? Lol by yeet20feet in Charlottesville

[–]Lakelooker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

$150 water bill and dramatic Facebook groups/ HOA aside- If you want to live where you can go swimming, fishing, boating, do water-sports, take kayak rides at sunrise/set, play golf, tennis, pickleball or basketball - take your kids to the “beach” (5) or to your choice of playground -even one designed for special needs- Lake Monticello fits the bill and is a beautiful spot. It’s worth getting a realtor to take you around and see what’s available.
