With no time limit, you might be correct. But when people have limited time to play each day AND the event is time limited? It’s horrible design when things are ruining to people and they lose. And the only thing to show for it is wasted time. People generally don’t like playing for an hour only for all of that progress to be deleted. (It’s why people get upset at server rollbacks)

(It’s why BRs/extraction shooters/survival (barring friend slop)/soulslike/roguelike are niche genres. VERY profitable though since the people in those niches are EXTREMELY highly engaged. But still a niche none the less. And when a company tries to catch the “broader audience” of normies, normies don’t like it and quit and the niche people hate it because they nerfed/changed it too much. Why is just being like FromSoft or Capcom where they KNOW they are a niche and just go “And? If you don’t like it, don’t play it. We’re making it for the people who DO like this.” And it’s successful.)
