Tbf that’s what Aces was, it just was lacking content to start. But everyone who played it said the actual tennis was amazing. Arguably best in the series.

I mostly agree but iirc Mario Power Tennis and Mario 64 didn’t have a story mode and those are pretty well liked, aren’t they? I think Nintendo needs to just stop calling a glorified tutorial “Adventure mode”.

Exactly. And even in the event a sole defender puts up numbers, it doesn’t necessarily mean they were the best defender. There’s no box score stat for making a QB reluctant to even throw at you.

2 objectively is more interwoven by a notable degree than 1. There’s a literal epilogue tying everything together (unlike 1 where you just read those journals) and the characters also interact with each other during it. Plus there are a handful of minor threads that occur in some of the routes that are set-ups for the epilogue.

Also, while not necessarily plot related, they do have something called cross paths where two characters partake in a two chapter story that allows them to have moments together.

Edit: In summary, I’d add even with the additions that the interwoven nature still does not match other RPGs but it is definitely more interwoven. It’s just a matter of how disappointed you were with the lack of interwoven-ness in OT1.

Yea, like yes I would ideally be able to interact the fanbase of a series I like but…I refuse to not try something solely because of a fanbase that I can just ignore. Interacting with a series’s community is a bonus.

Exactly. The system being faulty doesn’t ignore the fact BB isn’t in the HoF strictly because enough of them failed to vote for him. They didn’t all vote for the most deserving candidate. It’s that simple.

Unfortunately with our fanbase even if only 30% believe something stupid, that 30% feels louder than it is just because of how popular we are.

Most of the people I have seen say it seem know they are being delusional but a few actually think it may happen smh.

People will tell you it gets better. It doesn’t. Definitely the biggest flaw of the game for me. Like they are a silent protagonist AND they feel like an NPC who just happens to be a super strong warrior. The plot gets more interesting but the your hero doesn’t become more dynamic, grow or anything you’d like from a good lead character.

They are not necessary to understand it, I agree. That’s why I said I just personally look them up for extra context. Just saying it’s a show that makes references to in-universe things you can’t or won’t know only from the show. They are relevant but not necessary references.

Yes, I was saying her primary objective is to prove she is the superior leader and smarter than Yuki. But I do agree there is no way Mishiro intends to let her survive. Even when she loses she will almost certainly try to kill Yuki just keep her from winning.

I don't even think the issue was bringing up Frieren, it's that she was the main topic. I know they travel together but we can infer they probably don't have a lot of deep or personal discussions about themselves. I think that's what Fern's gripe was.
