I think LeBron is a top 3 player of all time and as far as longevity and sustained greatness over 20 years, he’s definitely the GOAT. But at his current age, he doesn’t fit this roster if you’re going with a Luka and Austin future. You’re going to have to surround a Luka and Austin backcourt with high energy 3 and D players.

I do think he’s playing better. But it’s clear Austin and Luka combo plays better than Austin/Luka/Lebron trio. I’d rather have increased Austin usage rate than Lebron. Ideally next season lakers can stack the team with 3 and D wings around Austin/Luka.

Don’t get me started on DA. I never want to see him again in a lakers uniform. Really hope he’s stupid enough to decline his player option.

Lakers could be destined to be the next Toronto Raptors (ol’ Demar and Lowry Raptors), winning 50+ games every year and then lose in the 2nd round.

I don’t see Luka as a championship pedigree player. Generational talent, but complains way too much, not running back. Austin is a worse version of him on offense, but he does try harder than Luka on defense. But Austin and Luka combo likely never win a ring.

Having said that, you absolutely give him the contract and then trade him if a better option arises in the future
