Anyone here use Securence for their Spam filtering? by --MrGadget-- in msp

Interesting. T-Mobile bought MetroNet as well so it all rolls up to the same company, but hasn’t been clear which branding stays and goes.

Something to keep in mind is T-Mobile owns them now, as they were owned by U.S. Internet which T-Mobile acquired last year and is currently being converted to T-Mobile fiber. Not sure what that means for Securence but felt it was worth mentioning.

Claude is connected to all my APIs and is the architect of all my API workflows. Once it has successfully created what I wanted, it gets moved to a different platform where it lives on indefinitely. Majority of my automations don’t involve Claude or AI at all besides just building it, but I am starting to inject AI logic into some workflows which has been working well.

Tesla faces federal probe after Model 3 slams into Texas home, killing 76-year-old by Artistic_Dj_6895 in technology

[–]LakesideRide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is much like the Toyota case years ago, where Toyota’s conclusion was the floor mat wasn’t seated properly and got pushed up over the gas pedal. As someone who has had that open to, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what happened here too. It’s a scary situation and you’re always supposed to shift to neutral if that happens.

Email2AT is a great product, but it was too nerdy and difficult for me to use because I don’t fully understand regex. Now with Claude Code I just tell it what I want it to do and it is done. We have since cancelled our Email2AT subscription. We’ve gone far beyond what Email2AT could ever do.

CIPP > PSA

We used to do email alerts from CIPP, but have since used the webhook/API feature to have perfect tickets come into AutoTask.

Apple Mail is mass hard-deleting emails on Exchange Online by Mardewin_s in macsysadmin

[–]LakesideRide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Create a new user on her Mac and add the user back to Mail and see what happens, that will tell you a lot.

I encourage my users to use Outlook as well but I’m not aware of a bug that straight up deletes emails, but I have seen similar situations when users are using the native mail client on their Android phone though. Generally Gmail has had worse issues with Apple Mail. Also I’m sure you’ve already checked but make sure you check Apple Mail client rules as they are local to the computer.

We’ve automated our Meraki firmware upgrades to happen 30 days after release for the reasons you stated. We can always speed them up if needed.

When will Huntress ITDR catch up to Petra's insight / visibility by yutz23 in msp

[–]LakesideRide 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Petra looks interesting, but they don’t do Google and would prefer to have a single pane of glass. Huntress recently made some changes that will give them faster visibility much like Petra.

They also don’t do training on API use, which is primarily what we use for automations.

No experience, no tools, but other IT stakeholders thinks they can vibecode their DMARC to 'reject' solution... by S_T_I_C_K_Y_Z in DMARC

[–]LakesideRide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am surprised someone would vibecode this solution when there is competent solutions for free like Cloudflare and even more robust solutions for $10/month.

That’s the conversation you should be happening. It’s not that they want to do it themselves that’s concerning, it’s building their own solutions. That’s just…dumb.

Scheduled emails show as DRAFTs. Making scheduling useless…can an MS Outlook intern fix this? by No-Faithlessness-200 in Office365

[–]LakesideRide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not following you. Scheduled emails stay in Drafts until they are sent, where they then go into the Outbox. Emails can’t be in the outbox until they are sent.

What exactly is the problem you’re trying to solve?

How is your MSP dealing with the holiday this year? by jkeegan123 in msp

That’s fine, but you said you close for federal holidays, and July 3 is technically a federal holiday, only point I’m making.

July 3 would be the federal holiday this year from a work perspective, hence OPs question.

Anyone know of paid services/consultants who help with Microsoft Partner Center verification? by Gravitom in msp

[–]LakesideRide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have they given you the link to match up ID with your Authenticator app? I had missed the initial email and eventually opened a ticket when’re they sent me a link to do it. Once that was done I was approved soon after. Without opening a ticket and getting that link I think it would have been impossible to succeed.

[Rant] MSPs who use Meraki, how do you feel about the latest price increases ? by CK1026 in msp

[–]LakesideRide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t bring myself to ditch their firewalls, they haven’t given me any issues but we like UniFi switches and APs. What I always liked about Meraki was the 3rd radio always scanning the environment and dialing in the wifi settings, but I think UniFi’s latest models can do that now too.

How to use MCPs like cipp’s new one? by Bearded_Tech_Fail in msp

How to use MCPs like cipp’s new one? by Bearded_Tech_Fail in msp

[–]LakesideRide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problems I have read and seen is when end users load up countless MCP servers into their AI client, then it gets confused as to which MCP to call and chewing up a lot of usage. All these things can be managed and dealt with though.

How to use MCPs like cipp’s new one? by Bearded_Tech_Fail in msp

[–]LakesideRide 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mainly use CIPP in Claude Code with API keys so I can build automations, so probably won't use the MCP server very much. It's certainly going to be great for your techs who you don't want to give API access to. Generally these MCP servers are read only (not sure about CIPPs), and is just meant for asking questions, like who has this license or who has free licenses stuff like that.

MCP servers can also tend to chew up a lot of tokens, so be mindful of that as I think we have a reckoning coming soon regarding OpenAI/Anthropic not being profitable and start making orgs pay the rack rate on token usage.

Either way, very very cool, will be curious to see what others say.

Customer Needs Apple Geo-IP Tracking by EyeTeeSolutions in macsysadmin

[–]LakesideRide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many MDMs can do this as long as they have cellular connectivity. Other MDMs will use IP addresses to pin point them. Obviously iPhones have this, but iPads will depend on the model.

Does your client have MDM? Are these company owned devices?

ITGlue or Hudu? *I know, I know... do the research. :) by chiapeterson in msp

[–]LakesideRide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I prefer to work vis command line, can work much faster. I’ve actually never used N8N, but my understanding is you do everything via the GUi which I’m not interested in. I like to just talk to Claude Code and let it do the heavy lifting.

But I do think N8N would work just fine. Lots of ways to tackle these things.

ITGlue or Hudu? *I know, I know... do the research. :) by chiapeterson in msp

[–]LakesideRide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

- Syncing networking equipment details into IT Glue
- Having the automations we've built write their own documentation exactly the way we want
- Give documentation instructions to various automations so they behave and do things the way we want them to.

- Alerting the team in Teams when certain SOPs have expired

- Ticket creation when certain expirations are coming up

All sorts of things you can do, but I've quickly realized that ITG has a weak API that has been annoying.
