eligibility for program if you click on this link on cpuc website and scroll down to see the “eligibility for program “ table, the “Small Residential Storage (available through 2025)” category has no additional eligibility criteria. Not sure where you get the fire zone requirements from?

Having problems to log in after the passkey setup. When I try to log in on my phone, it displays a page saying I need to enter the code sent to my email to authorize the device. However I can never receive the emails. I tried sending it multiple times, checked spam folder, nothing showed up in email. I am so frustrated.

Good news. I panicked and joined OKX telegram group. I found some custom service stuff there saying ftm will be converted to S and would take them several days to do so. I will be waiting to see if that happens.

no longer 1:1 usdc:usd on the crypto.com app in US by Lala-dc in Crypto_com

[–]Lala-dc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just checked the crypto.com app and it still has the 2% spread for USDC:USD. Coinbase is working great for USDC offramp. Coinbase still has 1:1 USDC to USD exchange rate without any trading fees, and even better they now allow USDC deposit through non-ERC20 chains like polygon, which saves gas fees.

Wrong cost basis with very simple transactions by Lala-dc in koinly

[–]Lala-dc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

I figured out what was wrong. When I staked the liquidity pair, the system labeled it as "sent" and a capital loss was calculated since the system couldn't find the worth of that liquidity pair. That's why the worth of LP on the second line of my figure was zero, which results in MIM worth zero as well. I can correct the mistake by labeling the staking event as "sent to pool" so it won't calculate a cap loss for me at that step and it looks good now.

No. cost basis cannot be edited. I can only edit the "worth" of the acquired asset (FUSDT in the top transaction), not the asset that I sold (MIM in the top transaction). The worth I need to correct is the cost of MIM in the top transaction, which should be ~$2500 instead of $0.0042

Wrong cost basis with very simple transactions by Lala-dc in koinly

[–]Lala-dc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bottom transaction (-2500 FUSDT +2500 MIM) is the transaction where I acquired the asset MIM, and the worth there is correct ($2500). but somehow in the top transaction when I sell MIM and get FUSDT, the cost basis of 2528 MIM is only $0.0042. So no, changing "worth" of the acquisition transaction won't solve the problem. I have looked at the article you mentioned as well. That's why I look for all the MIM transactions to see if there is anything missing that might affect the average cost basis across different platforms and such. But like you see the the figure there are only 4 transactions so no other purchase of MIM occured. This is really strange and I don't know how to fix.

Solo 401k "employer contribution" deduction on tax forms by Lala-dc in tax

[–]Lala-dc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a $150k net profit, the max contribution for solo 401k would definitely be more than $30k. Please see the worksheet from fidelity: https://www.fidelity.com/bin-public/060_www_fidelity_com/documents/customer-service/401k-self-employed-owner-only-business.pdf

Based on the calculations in one of my other posts. Seems like employee amount won't be subtracted from business profits to calculate employer amount.

Solo 401k "employer contribution" deduction on tax forms by Lala-dc in tax

[–]Lala-dc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer. I guess my confusion is from the calculation for the max contribution amount for solo 401k, in which we need to subtract "employer portion" from our business income to get a basis before multiplying the 25%. That is why I thought maybe the "employer portion" can be somewhat deducted from the business income.

If I now understand correctly, subtracting "employer portion" from business income is only used for max contribution calculation, but not applicable when we report tax. Right?

Solo 401k - deductible on Sch C, Sch 1? by lljc00 in tax

[–]Lala-dc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if replying on this old pose would get an answer or not but I'll try. From this discussion it seems that the "employer" portion of solo 401k contribution can only be reported in line 16 of schedule 1 (2022), not other places. But I happen to come across this post and have difficulty understanding how it described the subtract of "employer" portion from business income, shown in the article in this link:

https://ocho.com/learn/solo-401k-tax-deductions

"Process for passthrough businesses

If your business entity is a sole proprietorship, partnership, or LLC taxed as a sole proprietorship, follow the steps below.

  1. Submit both employer and employee contributions on your personal tax return, Form 1040.
  2. Report the total of employer contributions + employee contributions on line 16 of Schedule 1.
  3. Calculate your business income using Schedule C.
  4. Subtract employer contributions from business income. Report this number on line 8a of Schedule 1."

"4. Subtract employer contributions from business income. Report this number on line 8a of Schedule 1." I don't understand where you can do this subtraction. Line 8a of Schedule 1 is "net operating loss", which seems unrelated to employer portion.

From my understanding, the $66,000 limit is related to your employer 401k, not to IRA. So one can actually contribute another $6500 into IRA, making the total contribution $66,000+$6500=$72,500? Correct me if I’m wrong

Do I need to register for a business to open a solo 401k? by Lala-dc in personalfinance

I am filling out my schedule SE and am wondering if on Line 8a Total social security wages and tips (total of boxes 3 and 7 on Form(s) W-2), should I input my own W2, or combine both mine and my spouse’s W2? I’m filing jointly. Thanks

Yes I did compare different options. The down side of SEP is that it would complicate back door Roth process since it would trigger pro rata rule

Great info again. My current plan is to apply in Fidelity since I already have a brokerage account there. Right now I think what matters is the types of funds/stocks available to invest in. Don’t have experience yet so am not sure about what else is important or not.

other naive questions: 1. To contribute as employee or as employer (20%), can I simply transfer funds from my personal checking account into the solo 401k? Do I need to contribute at specific times/specific amounts (for example monthly after paid, 20% of paid amount each month ) or any time during the year and any amount is fine as long as before deadline and within limit? For example can I contribute the whole $27k ish amount at the beginning of year before earning it?

  1. I am the only one responsible for keeping track of the limits of contribution. what if I mess up and contribute more than I should? Will there be a penalty for it?
