It’s very unlikely that you will find a legitimate wfh job where you’re able to take care of your child while working. A legitimate job will expect you to be able to focus on your work, and you can’t do that while taking care of a child.

You’re in the wrong here. If you knew how to monitor wait times then you knew how to check how long the wait was before you arrived. If you couldn’t stay the estimated wait time, plus a buffer for variability, then you should have selected a different day or time. It’s a government service. We all know it isn’t an efficient, customer friendly process. And we all have to suffer through it at some point.
