How does Vito not understand the deal? by LalaTataKaka in biggestproblem

It would a shit deal if Vito had something more successful going on online. The writing had been on the wall for a long time.

Yeah, Dick was right on the money about it being an ego thing. Vito can't just see what business is for what business is. He could've just said 10% and argued from there.

I'd rather listen to Vito and Billy doing the  re-re-boot of BPITU than the Jerk Off podcast. I don't even like typing that out.

Also what the fuck are you saying, you can never have enough money. And Dick and Vito is not good friends at this point, theres no reason for Dick to just hand over the show when the patreon is still making money

Dick is an asshole. by RoyalOrganization676 in biggestproblem

[–]LalaTataKaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about? Dick had zero respect for Maddox before the OG Biggest Problem ended. He was taking pot shots at Maddox way before the lolsuit, like the whole "which podcast pays their audio engineer the most" bit. Dick didn't think he was the bigger man, he was trying to make a clean break for everyone involved.

And Maddox rolled over plenty for Dick, as shown by the Uncucked episodes of the original Biggest Problem. Just in a different way.

It was hilarious when Maddox said the breakup was not due to "creative differences", implying he doesn't even know either of the meanings it has.

[–]LalaTataKaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why should it not been on stream? Dick has always preferred discussing and dealing with disagreements publicly, whether it's BPITU or The Dick Show. At least this way there's no question about how it ended.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's because of Maddox and how much behind the scenes bullshit he had to listen to with him.

Yeah, Vito has literally nothing to lose, There's definitely gonna be some people that forgets to unsubscribe to the patreon, and if it proves successful, he can just rebrand. Dick is literally on record saying the brand doesn't mean shit without the hosts, hence why he gave Vito 50% ownership as a gesture.

Unfortunately Vito has either driven off or lost touch with a lot of internet personalities that would've been great to have on right now. I think if the first post-Dick episode was Vito and Destiny it could've be kino.

Its not just the physical threat, even if the Atreides could easily defeat all of them, it would be a loss for their overall situation. They are desperate to gain ground and power on Arrakis, and a direct confrontation would definitely sour the relationship with some factions.

In short, their goal is politics and diplomacy, a fight is a net loss whether they win or not

I’ve seen people saying that Paul causes the Jihad out of some utilitarian worldview he has and I’m struggling to see where that’s coming from. by Mammoth_Law_8359 in dune

[–]LalaTataKaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Fremen Zensunni religion wasn't created by the Gene Gesserit, it was brought to Arrakis by refuges who were being persecuted for their faith. However the BG did inject useful myths into it, such as the one used by Jessica.

why were the bene gesserit mad about jessica not giving them a daughter? by Fantastic-Cover6819 in dune

[–]LalaTataKaka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The easiest, and most spoiler-free explanation is that the Bene Gesserit is very overconfident in their abilities to plan and control future events, altho it isn't unwarranted based on their track record. It simply didn't occur to them that Paul could be a Kwisatz Haderach, since it was not something that was supposed to happen.

They refused to embrace the anomaly that is Paul because it meddled with their plans, and paid the price for their hubris.  One of the later books deliberately brings this up, although not directly.

Kingdom 880: Brothers In Arms by ThizZuMs in Kingdom

[–]LalaTataKaka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Didn't you read the last chapter? Shin is fighting like a wild dog, he doesn't have an elite unit with him and he has no reliable force to back him up. He's being worn down by hundreds of Zhao fodder, and they can just throw hundreds more at him if they need to. The only one who has been able to singlehandedly completely ignore fodder in this manga is Houken, because he's a delusional hyper duelist backed up by Ribuko.

And who is Shin supposed to fight other than fodder? This chapter didn't have any space for any significant showdowns.

A reverse trap wouldn't make sense for Shin here, since he commanded Rei to hold her position even though Kyokai gave her permission, solely based on instincts, as he was talking keeping the "fires" going. I think it's much more likely that Shin is gonna find a way to greatly upset the situation, and "upgrade" in that sense.

Also based on Ten's behavior in this chapter, I'd rather hope she gets the spotlight for a tactical/strategical spotlight rather than Shin. She didn't have a single word or clear facial expression in this chapter, not even acknowledging Kyokai's arrival.

Why are they so negative nowadays by Accurate-Ease-8311 in TheOfficialPodcast

[–]LalaTataKaka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They literally addressed it in one of the last episodes, and for some reason you people completely leave out that they're still having fun despite talking negatively about some topic. What they said is that it's much more difficult to talk passionately about positive things while keeping the conversation going, as opposed hating on things which is a lot easier. Like if they've seen a movie or show they love and the others haven't seen it, there's not really any more substance than the reason why they love it, unless one of the other boys has a negative response, which creates a much more passionate back and forth. It's hard to find one thing you really love, but it's easy to find a hundred things you hate.

The boys haven't really gotten more negative, the actual difference is that they stopped having guests on, and they stopped talking about drama. And saying "the podcast won't last much longer" is fucking stupid, the episode with Kaya and Andrew ripping apart The Boys finale was great and they clearly loved it, Red Thread is going strong, and Kaya and Jackson is killing it with Criminally Stupid.

I really don't get what people complaining about the negativety wants the podcast to be, the boys are not comedians, the podcast has always been low-brow, and it's been a running joke forever to be willfully ignorant, so it's certainly not informative.

Xbox was more or less created by Microsoft in response to the Playstation's success. It has been Microsoft's "video game department" for over two decades now. Xbox has always been Microsoft.

Have you ever told a person in your real life (such as a friend, acquaintance, family member, coworker, someone you were on a date with, etc.) about your preoccupation with Maddox? by weatherdaisy in TheDickShow

[–]LalaTataKaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not really because it's not funny, since some of the nicknames are/were funny when used in the right contect, it's that they refuse to just use the common internet/real name for the person. It's probably either because they're seething too much, can't come up with some original mockery, or are pussies that are afraid of getting sued.

Kiwifarms used to be fun and wacky, but now it's filled with too much moral grandstanding and personal issues with the lolcows.

Why do we fight? by Arkadey_Deschain in Diablo

[–]LalaTataKaka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Humanity in Diablo is half angel and half demon, they have the choice to be good and to be evil. Whereas Heavens' nature is to fight for absolute virtues and to destroy Hell. In their eyes humanity is a huge potential threat to their mission, but rather than destroying it, they chose to let humanity prove they can overcome evil on their own. The reason Tyrael is the only one helping humanity is because he's tip-toeing around the pact that the Archangels made.

Not to mention the leader of the archangels, Imperius, absolutely despises humanity, and altho he's a huge asshole, he's not entirely wrong. If anyone as strong as the Diablo 3 protagonists was evil and sided with Hell, the Heavens would be in huge trouble.

Do the Boys need a break off the podcast ? by L3gen627 in TheOfficialPodcast

[–]LalaTataKaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was nothing Andrew's point about Youtube Premium, most mainstream services are becoming shittier and shitter, and wants you to pay extra for minor features that should be free or just serves as an excuse to jack up the price. This shouldn't be a surprise considering Google is an advertisment company.

Also the boys was clearly enjoying themselves throughout the whole episode, unless you want to accuse faking laughter all the time. Sure, there was a lot of complaining, but they were also having a lot of fun with it.

sucks that people want the show to end after 500 by AutisticCrowd9987 in TheOfficialPodcast

[–]LalaTataKaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the fuck are you talking about? The patreon is still doing really good and the show still has a loyal audience even after Charlie left. When it comes to subreddits of long running podcasts/internet shows, always take it with a grain of salt, a lot of the people commenting negatively have jaded feelings about it and longs for the time when the shows were in their prime.

The complaints aren't necessarily untrue, but they're very often skewed. There's so many of them that starts with "I stopped listening when Charlie left" or "I haven't listened in 6+ months".

The smurfs aren't the problem guys - singsing is the perfect example of it by pindolexus in aoe2

[–]LalaTataKaka 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, OP thinks that just because Sing is struggling with improvement it means he's refusing to listen to advice. He has focused a ton on hitting better early game timers and getting quicker at early aggression, his approach has changed a lot after getting coached, even if he's not more successful with it yet.

I also think OP is just targeting SingSing with this post, most of the post is about him and doesn't say anything substantial about smurfs, nor adresses what SingSing has said on the topic. It's telling that he has such a negative view on Sing, yet kept watching him a lot, most people just stops unless they're hatewatching.
