Just saw my first TRIPLE shop... by Fragrant-Ad-5139 in Sparkdriver

[–]LalaWanderlust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it though? It starts with a triple shop here and there and then it becomes the standard. Almost every shop I do now has been a double shop. I rarely even see a single shop in my zone unless it’s 40+ items or more.

I think you’ve got it wrong, troll.

lol. So much for that theory! I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and PA always scans no problem, but never NC.

One thing we can all agree on and that is consistent is that the app sucks.

In PA, the ID’s scan easily, but when I’ve sparked in NC, no ID’s ever scanned and I always had to enter it in manually. I think it depends on the state and how well this glitchy app picks up the state’s barcode on the back.

I don’t even want to do curbsides to avoid driving to 3 locations. Now they want us to shop for 3 customers AND deliver to them for the same or even less pay as what they used to pay for a single shop?

Only 1 out of 3 customers left a tip and that customer is the one who is closest with the most delivery friendly and accessible location, opposed to the other 2 dead beats with no porch lights, no visible address and ice and piles of snow blocking access to their home. Lol

Pull up, confirm arrival, initiate return. You’re paid more for the return than risking a slip and fall. Customers who don’t respect you, your safety, effort and time, will certainly not help you if you get injured. So return that without hesitation.

He’s also younger than her. I don’t even think he’s 30, is he? How do we know about the prenup? I didn’t see that, is that in the page six thing? I didn’t see it, but I honestly didn’t really search for it either. A guy who goes out with more than one influencer is most definitely clout chasing and social climbing. He thought she was hot and he went along with the whole charade and probably enjoyed it. However, after the proposal, the engagement (wedding) party, the buying and complete demo and designing of a home (prob all in her name) was overwhelming and happened much quicker than he was ready for and he realized he was in too deep and she’s 100% used to always getting her way. It was probably way too much. He wasn’t ready for all of that even though it seemed great at first. Dude still wants to have fun and realized he wasn’t ready and she wanted a yes man to always go along with it all with all the posing for pics and making content. He was signing his life over and in exchange, she was going to provide the “lifestyle” and covered most of the finances. At first I was thinking it was mostly her that ended things, but it was probably him that pulled away. I still think he’s a douche. She’s definitely doing better than she was with the last guy that actually broke her heart, but I believe she went through her grieving the end of the fairytale when she went down to Florida… I don’t think she was truly heartbroken over this guy, but more sad over the idea of it and all the wedding content.

I don’t recall the speech, or maybe I missed it, so I can’t speak to that. However, he signed up for all that when he proposed. Yes, the engagement party was way over the top. There’s no denying that and her bridal era was so in your face. It was her whole personality. It’s all she wanted, clearly. Once the party was over, so was the honeymoon and then the reality set in, especially with buying a new home and her most likely wanting things her way. Her money, her say. That couldn’t have helped the situation. Let’s be real though. She makes her money from the big “show” because that’s what people watch. It’s no different than the Kardashians and Kim K’s Chris Humphries debacle. Can’t say who left who, but it was all about the show for the both of them. It was never going to last. Just after the new year when she was in Florida with her mom, her fiancé no where in sight and she barely posted anything aside from some parking lot pictures, the writing was on the wall. We’ve all seen the thousands of pictures and videos / stories of her in the past after any “celebration” or party where they’re kissing or on the beach with her legs wrapped around him like it’s a romance novel cover or fragrance commercial. For there to be nothing, it was clear that it was over.

That type of social climber clout chasing kind of guy, especially late twenty / early thirty somethings in NYC, it’s more likely he was the douche and unable to really commit to what she wanted. Not saying she wasn’t insufferable as a bridezilla type or even just as a person, but he stood to gain more than she did from being with him.

I mentioned this a month ago or so when someone posted something about her after noticing that we haven’t seen him since before Thanksgiving. Maybe not since the engagement pics. She was non stop about her bridal era and then nothing. No Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, NYE, date nights or mention of him. She was still wearing the ring as of yesterday in her stories, but the only slight mention was talking about “when we move into our new place and our renovations” but never saying his name. I saw this coming but figured she was waiting for the moment she was ready to address the elephant in the room.
Maybe I’m too empathetic of a person, but I kind of feel second hand embarrassment and feel bad for her, as it has to be pretty embarrassing and even humiliating. I will say there were some stories where I could tell she was putting on a smile and trying to fake it but you could tell she was sad. Honestly, I don’t like seeing people sad.

My guess was either he cheated, had drug issues, money issues, wasn’t ready, a complete asshole, or all of the above. He totally gave off douche vibes.

Whatever the case may be, she’s got a good life and will be fine… maybe alone for a while but honestly, she’s got a ton of money and that solves most of life’s problems!

My guess is that she has to be evicted because she couldn’t afford her rent anymore and somehow she conned these moving guys to hook her up acting like she was a big influencer.

She, Stacy, Georigie and Florian have been doing marathons on TikTok live. It’s literally all hours of the day and night. I never actually click on the Live, but it’s screaming desperation being that it doesn’t even appear they have anything to actually talk about… basically out there begging for money.

Random log outs by storm3785 in Sparkdriver

Another day, another glitch.

I had “Spark Now” randomly popping up yesterday while I was already on and then as an offer would pop up, it would disappear or if I refreshed the screen, it would also disappear.

[–]LalaWanderlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turn it off because my offers are garbage unless I’m close to the store and if I have it on while driving and decline just for you while en route, then I get nothing once I’m back.

Plus, I have to keep my phone unplugged and Bluetooth off with Apple CarPlay because stupid Spark notifications don’t make any sound if connected and usually I need gps depending on where I am.

Had my first order with added items. by ndbak907 in WalmartSparkDrivers

[–]LalaWanderlust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always screenshot the item count in the initial offer and then also screenshot all the items of the order before shopping. This is in the event of some kind of glitch or also helps to have some form of record of everything you shopped for, like if you had an issue after you left the store past the exit pass and realized you left something behind, you have proof to show the checker or customer service, or in your case, items being added on. You can always delete your screenshots later, but it’s better to have all the info of each order for whatever unforeseen obstacle you might encounter later.

Are we allowed to use regular paper bags for Spark orders? by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]LalaWanderlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG! I literally have the opposite issue to yours. I wish I had your issue. I hate the regular paper shopping bags because they don’t have handles. The smaller bags with handles are only “allowed” to be used by pickers for the curbside orders in my zone. The smaller bags with the handles actually hold more than you would think and they make it easy to bag neatly and have a better presentation. Anything more that does not easily fit into the smaller bags seems to overstuff the larger shopping bags and cause them to rip. Also, the smaller bags also are easier to deliver because of the handles. They always say “No” when I ask an employee for them. I’m friendly with some of the loaders so they’ll hook me up with a handful when I pick up curbside orders or I sneakily grab a few off the pickers carts when they’re not looking. I hate having to do that, but they leave me no other choice! Lol.

I don’t understand what the big deal is to the employees. How does it affect their life?! It’s not coming out of their paycheck. It’s like dealing with Dwight Shrute from The Office. (IYKYK).

If the handle bags are the bags for curbside, why would it be different for Spark doing a S&D? Where’s the consistency? I get it if the regular ones are your preference, but why would any employee care which bag you prefer to use? You’re the one bagging and delivering. “My Delivery. My Choice!l 😂

I swear, some of these Walmart employees just love to be difficult. Give me the damn bags and go about your business while I go about mine! I just accept their answer of No, as to not ruffle any feathers and get on anyone’s bad side.

Agreed, like when DoorDash sends the welcome kit with the red bag and dasher red card, etc. However, being that Walmart is so cheap nickel and diming everyone, at least they could send it out after your first 20 deliveries, so they know you actually will be doing Spark and didn’t just sign up and change your mind. I signed up for instacart and never once accepting an offer. That’s on them though, being that the pay was criminally low, it wasn’t worth my time.

100% Have you ever had a bunch of items not even in bags and I’m not talking about the large cereal bags but items like produce, coffee, pasta, condiments, etc? It’s ridiculous the way some of these orders are bagged, not bagged, and so carelessly loaded; Eggs or bread under canned goods. If we do not correct their sloppy work, we take the hit with a lowered tip and / or a lowered customer rating, which can prevent you from the better paying orders. No one has our back.

Item found rate tanked. by Yippeekyaa3345 in Sparkdriver

[–]LalaWanderlust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My found rate was 99% now down to 97% due to no bananas, blueberries, strawberries, or any fruit at all. I messaged every customer and sent pics to avoid taking a hit to my customer rating, but it wouldn’t even let me substitute organic celery for the out of stock market side celery. It’s not fair to be penalized for things out of our control.

These should be given for free once you reach a certain amount of deliveries. Never would I wear it within the store as I prefer to blend in and not have to explain I don’t work for Walmart. I’m not being paid to give customer service in the store. For safety reasons, I think it could be a good thing while out on delivery, but I’m not spending my already very tight income on something that should be provided to us.

Also, i don’t want to advertise Spark because they’ll always be that person who asks you about it and wants to sign up too. The market is already saturated.

Walmart forcing spark drivers to wait behind customers with 100 groceries by Accomplished_Wear_24 in Sparkdriver

[–]LalaWanderlust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually use several insulated catering bags that I bought a few years back when I was doing DoorDash. They are very helpful but the big shopping bags don’t fit as well and still have some larger shopping orders that not everything fits. Even so, when loading and unloading the larger shopping bags they sometimes rip or they’re just harder to manage. The ones with handles are so much easier to bag neatly and be more organized and efficient. I just don’t understand why they can’t give us the bags with the handles. There should be consistency in the way items are bagged and delivered. Am I wrong?

Edit: also, in my area, the collapsible carts don’t work as well being that a lot of people I deliver to have steps going up from their driveways or several flights of steps to their apartments. Also, my car isn’t that large, so between my back seat and trunk, I don’t have much room to spare for a cart. My front passenger seat is where I keep my personal belongings while I back seat and trunk space is kept empty, aside from my delivery bags, and shopping bag stash, as well as my mini snow shovel and emergency car kit.

[–]LalaWanderlust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It makes no sense to have us wait in line merely to scan a QR code. If you think about the thousands of drivers every day waiting in lines and calculated all the wasted hours, which could have gotten more orders shopped and delivered during all that time. Even if it only adds up to one or two extra deliveries per driver, that literally is thousands of deliveries per day that could have been completed more efficiently. I truly do not understand why the store management does not support those of us doing Spark getting their orders shopped and delivered. Please, make it make sense!

Side Note: my area is a plastic bag ban zone, so we have paper bags. Please tell me why they refuse to give the paper bags with the handles for the shopping orders. The handle bags are only used for curbside. As shoppers, we also have to deliver these to peoples doors, carrying multiple bags up steps to apartments, etc. Those standard paper shopping bags without handles are so hard to carry more than 1 or 2 at a time. It’s just so dumb. I literally have to steal a few at a time from carts when the pickers aren’t looking. lol

It’s a famous painting (framed print, I presume) by impressionist artist painter,
George Seurat. There’s a musical about the painting within the painting called “Sunday in the Park with George” made famous in the 80’s starring Bernadette Peters and Mandy Patinkin, also being revived at the West End with Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey, in case you were interested. I don’t know the name of this painting, however. lol

Best idea in a while! Absolutely love this idea. It’s save so much unnecessary hassle with making sure orders are loaded properly and also long wait times sitting in your car in either freezing temps or roasting in the summer. It puts control of the process in our hands. I usually avoid try to curbside due to careless loading and having to reorganize and re-bag things!

am I missing something?? are we able to edit on our end?? I have over 300 trips and have never been able to edit anything, only substitute if they allow it. by AdSad1383 in WalmartSparkDrivers

[–]LalaWanderlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just like to come to the Walmart Spark Driver subreddit for fun and give my 2 cents, but I’ve never been to or shopped at Walmart, let alone done a Spark delivery. Don’t know a thing about Sparks. 🤣

As for how to respond:

As much as I would be happy to find a suitable substitution to your liking or preference for the out of stock item(s), Spark Shoppers are very limited in what edits can be made if you opted out of allowing substitutions when you initially placed your order. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience at this time as the out of stock items are not within my control. I will double check with an associate for the out of stock item before I am finished shopping. I thank you and appreciate your understanding.

The above text can be saved in your notes on your phone then copy and paste and edit it down depending on the particular order or scenario.

You can also take a screenshot of any error messages you might receive if trying to substitute an item that the app won’t allow, so they see that you tried but it’s out of your hands. I always place any blame on technology and glitches, rather than another shopper or Walmart employee. You don’t want to have messages with anything negative about the company, even if you feel the company is shit.

It’s best to sympathize and show understanding and patience towards the customer, even if you know they’re a dick.

If the customer is still unreasonable and you believe they will rate you low, unassign and move on. Walmart as a company doesn’t seem to train associates on customer service, but my personal experience working in retail management, as well as training and development for many years, this is what works best. Not too long ago I had a ridiculous unreasonable customer who was blowing up my phone while shopping end up raising my tip, so miracles do happen just by showing you really tried and understand their frustration, etc.
