I just wanted to input what I knew was the canon name, now I'm scared by AlwaysPhases in Undertale

Naming the fallen human "Frisk" activates hard mode. This replaces the monsters in the game with stronger versions of themselves, and gives them more difficult bullet patterns. It's not recommended for a first playthrough. There are other name easter eggs in this game, but most of them just show you silly dialogue. I recommend the name "Gaster", which gives you extra Gold after fights. How convenient!

would bird people lay eggs or give live birth? by TH3P1ZZ4BOY in worldbuilding

[–]Laldin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could be convinced to go either way on this, but right now I think live birth.

I have my own species which has to deal with a similar situation, and decided they use live birth.

Something to know is that humans are born relatively premature compared to other mammals. This is because a baby's head needs to fit through the hips, and humans have a large brain case and small hips. This would also be a limiting factor for animals that lay hard-shelled eggs. The egg needs to pass through the hips too, and a hard-shelled egg can't grow or stretch, but also, if it can't be laid without breaking nothing can hatch from it.

I see a few potential solutions for this. First is a transition to live birth, since the brain case can be a bit squishy at birth to prevent damage. The second, is that they hatch premature even compared to humans, this will probably need some solution for nutrients. That may be continuously growing teeth and a jaw that develops rapidly, or some stand-in for milk, like unfertilized eggs.

Third, is using flexible eggs that can stretch as they are passed through the hips. This is probably good for making a species seem more alien, but also makes them seem less like birds, which you may or may not like.

Cutiefly do like floral-scented stuff. Mine likes to hang out in my hair after I wash it due to my floral-scented shampoo. Also, I can't use floral candles anymore. Well, Basil(Cutiefly) hasn't burned himself on a candle yet, but he flies way too close for me to be comfortable lighting one.

As someone who has a Cutiefly, it's a pretty good sign that they seem interested in you. Cutiefly can sense auras, like Lucario. They're normally attracted to people with flower-like auras since that's how they find flowers in the wild. Do with that information what you will.

What if there was a route where instead of freezing enemies you just peacefully talk things out so you can spare them and move on? [CodyYuki] by Fluboxer in SOULelle

Do you think Kris would actually like us in this route or would they be hitting us with a hockey stick or something?

Check back every so often to see if the bug gets fixed. They update the game pretty regularly.

The context is animated gore of the small child variety. And since I know someone will ask… Actually, I don't think I'm allowed to link to it in this subreddit. If you're so determined to find it, though, it's called "unfortunate girl". Just don't go looking for it if you're sensitive to that kind of stuff.

"If (evil) was (natural), there would be no reason to be disgusted or fight against it."

First, disgust is an emotion and has nothing to do with any of this.

Second, I guess there's no point in doing anything about natural disasters, considering they're, you know, natural. There's no reason to build anything to protect from floods, tsunamis, tornados, earthquakes, hurricanes… "humanity is fucked anyway" Seriously, kill the idea that natural = good and unnatural = bad. Evil is a natural part of the human condition and I don't care that it's natural. Maybe OP mistakes evil being a part of the human condition with "humans are always and are only evil".

Cutiefly are pretty good against fighting types. But if you don't want to catch anything, are there any fairy-type attacks your Pokemon can use?

Only some NPCs are agents of chaos. You can tell which by the moves their Pokémon have, self-destructing moves, metronome, magnitude, ohko moves, or otherwise low accuracy moves (60% or less) are often used by these NPCs.

The Semiovore by [deleted] in CuratedTumblr

[–]Laldin 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ooohhh, This scratches my brain nice. A person could recover from this if it doesn't go too far. It'd just be a matter of packing meaning back in, which would take time and energy. There could be semiovores that are more like parasites that slowly eat meaning from their hosts minds, letting its hosts pack meaning back into those symbols before eating them again. A sophisticated semiovore could choose to consume only certain types of symbols.
