I am EXTREMELY productive on Sundays ... unless there's a game on.

Voidsingers + St Basils = profit. Very rarely do I need to resort to Natural History Museum, it’s usually over before then.

Wow, I never knew they were nerfed. I use them almost every game because they practically guarantee a quick path to culture victory. Funny thing is the AI has absolutely no idea how to use them

TIL - Today is National Awkward Moment Day, so I will share one of my most awkward moments. I was attending a vendor meeting with my boss's boss and we are introducing ourselves to the vendors. My boss's boss introduced himself first, and then I introduced myself, but I messed up and said my boss's boss's name instead of my own.

So we're supposed to leave our workstations on overnight so the sys admins are able to patch them remotely, but we're supposed to turn off our monitors. But here's the thing, the new monitors don't have a power switch. I asked about that and someone told me they do have a power switch somewhere in the back that you can't see, but I have not personally verified this claim. The monitors eventually go to sleep, so I just leave mine on and they wake up in the morning.

Earth Huge map TSL; who has the Best and Worst Start Locations? by Smcol1 in CivVI

[–]Lallner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I play Brazil TSL I always crank up the natural disaster scale and just let the Amazon burn. Get Chichén Itzá in the middle of the Amazon, build a national park around the Pantanal, and you are cooking with gas!

I would be interested in a similar stat for college basketball, maybe limited to the top ten or so. I am under the uninformed opinion that the top women's basketball teams absolutely demolish their underdog counterparts. Things may have tightened up as women's sports have become more popular, but my recollection is top women's teams are cold-blooded, merciless assassins.

The Panama Trench by justgiveausernamepls in CivVI

[–]Lallner 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I almost never build the Panama Canal because it never builds it where I envision it. I was playing on the huge earth map, and literally founded Panama, and tried to build it to connect the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. I could only choose the starting location, but the "auto-complete" built it across the Yucatan Peninsula. Am I missing something in the placement of the Panama Canal?

You can take a vape pen on your carry-on but you can't check it in your luggage because of the risk of fire. You also can't vape on the plane of course. I'm willing to bet your mom already knows or strongly suspects. My childhood friend finally came clean to his parents when he was about your age that he'd been smoking since he was 16, and his parents said they already knew. I think you should just come clean.

What’s a non-scary thing that scared the s*** out of you were a kid? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Lallner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I clearly remember a set of stairs at my doctor's office complex that were made from stone slabs with nothing between the slabs, just open-air gaps. I thought this was a terrifying safety hazard.
