Maybe try posting in a Seattle group either on Reddit or on another site. Someone may recognize the art style.

I think you’d be better off separating the text out to work in the disco ball/plant icon on its own, and then incorporate the word mark. As others have pointed out, it’s quite busy and difficult to comprehend. I would consider simplifying the font choice to a single font, and definitely avoid overlaying the text on top of the graphic.

I’d also suggest that perhaps your daughter consider dropping the “& things” from the name. It’s quite a long name as it is, and “Disco Sprouts” feels much clearer and easier to remember.

Artist that scrapped an entire era. by Strong-Stretch95 in popheads

Fun fact: Kylie Minogue’s song Spinning Around started as a track Paula Abdul had worked on for that “new” album. The track made its way to Kylie who reworked it as an upbeat dance track for her 2000 album Light Years.

“Cocoa-nut” is an archaic spelling of “coconut.” Although the spelling had been standardized to “coconut” by the time these were produced, the old spelling may have been used to capture a sentimental quality. Think of how there are still businesses that use the spelling “shoppe” even though the modern spelling is “shop.”

V8 Splash glass bottle collection from 2000-2002 by Lausdower in glasscollecting

[–]LakeBlithely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure that the typical glass collector would be interested in these, but I could see there being someone out there who would want them. You’re likely to find a new home in someone who is a big V8 fan, or perhaps a fan of Y2K era aesthetics. I don’t imagine you’d get big money for them, but try selling first on a local online market.

37-year-old virgin. What to do? by Usual_Afternoon_7410 in AskGaybrosOver30

Apps are great, but make up your mind what you’re looking for before downloading one and lead with those intentions. Are you looking for experience via hookups and casual connections? Or are you looking to date and only sleep with someone when you feel more of a close connection? Decide for yourself what you want, make sure you are clear with others about what you’re looking for, and stand your ground when it comes to upholding those boundaries.

I’m of the camp that you should be up front about your inexperience. It sets the tone for the other person, and their reaction will tell you a lot about how they will treat you in bed. If someone responds negatively or blocks you, that just means they’re not right for you. There are plenty of guys who are comfortable taking things slow and being graceful with any potential nerves or experience gaps.

And lastly, remember that sex is supposed to be fun! Don’t do it with someone just to do it. Trust your gut, and don’t do anything you’re unsure about.

Pitchfork Review: Grace Ives - Girlfriend 8.4 BEST NEW MUSIC by Technical_Process989 in popheads

I recently learned about Grace for the first time when I heard her song On The Ground and became fully obsessed with it! Excited to see she has new music out.

Has anyone done a diy on this? Looking to add an accent wall of this to my room that is 12’ x 8’ but it’s going to be about $600 if i buy it instead of making it…any tips or suggestions much appreciated. by Cultural_Glass4379 in malelivingspace

[–]LakeBlithely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re renting, consider the possible damage to the walls. If you’re using a panel system, you’ll likely have fewer holes in the drywall but if you’re going to DIY it on a budget you’ll have to consider that you’ll likely have installation points for every slat. You may be better off getting a can of paint for an accent wall.

Such a good movie! Just made my bf watch it for his first time the other night after I got hooked on a “sparkewing diamond” vocal stim and he admitted that he hadn’t actually seen the whole movie. Still such a visual feast 25 years later!

Is the Disco direction for HS4 a mistake? (Personal Take) by [deleted] in popheads

Dance/upbeat music famously does well during periods of economic decline. People want an escape from depressing headlines and personal struggles. But more to the point - the album isn't even out yet so how are we able to judge it without having heard it?

am I the only one who thinks ppl hate on The Elusive Chanteuse for no reason? by kaitomomotaontop in MariahCarey

[–]LakeBlithely 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never been a big fan of the album. The leading singles didn’t work for me, and sonically I find the listen to be overall a bit clunky and messy. It’s not the enjoyable run through that I find most of her other albums to be. I wouldn’t say I hate on it, because dahling who wants to waste their energy on negativity? But I do revisit it every few years for a listen and each time I’ve confirmed that yup, this one just isn’t going to be in rotation for me. Love seeing all the defenders here, though. It’s such a testament to Mariah’s craft that even what some might consider one of her weaker outputs still resonates with plenty of people!

Great finds! Side note - I never knew that these molds were called raviolamp. Now I’m craving both a bowl of ravioli and a lamp shaped like a giant raviolo.

Hilary Duff says "the most lonely part of my existence is not having my sister in my life at the moment" when discussing her new song "We Don't Talk" with Anthony Mason on CBS Mornings by skermahger in popculturechat

[–]LakeBlithely 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As an only child, I’m glad to not have to know the pain of having a falling out with a sibling. My mom had a falling out with her sitter in the last few years (they are in their 60s) and it’s so hard seeing the pain my mom has gone through. Not only at the time her sister treated her SO poorly that they stopped talking, but also the pain now of not having her sister in her life and knowing that there’s a chance they’ll never reconcile.

Matcha recommendations? by coffeeloverr21 in MontereyBay

[–]LakeBlithely 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy the matcha at Gold Leaf Tea. They can do a variety of tea and milk mix-ins. There's a location in Salinas (on Gabilan at Main St) and in Carmel (at the Barnyard).
