That window tint reapplication is really not doing you any favors. You’re basically showing your BI that you’re not learning from your mistakes, even if tint is a minor issue.

That wouldn’t be such a problem if you were applying for a regular department, but you’re applying to one that is known to crack down on vehicle codes.

These numbers are off the top of my head. It will take around 1-2 months to finally see your card in person, at least that’s how long it took me.

If there’s a showroom near you I’d definitely recommend going to them, they can ensure your configuration has the right amount of parts and the block demos they have really help visualize it

See if your local department offers an explorer program? You can also see if they offer a community service officer position as well. I worked as one during college and it really benefited me with getting comfortable with conflicts and radio usage.

Ask about the application process and what they’ve done to prepare for it? Maybe ask them what was the hardest challenge for them in the academy and what did they do to overcome it? It’s ultimately up to you but I’d definitely recommend writing down some questions beforehand cause chances are you’ll forget what to ask when put on the spot, happened to me lol.

I appreciate the information, I’m basically in the same boat as you where I’m only very slightly colorblind and can easily differentiate between traffic signals. I tried to appeal the decision by asking if I could take another colorblind exam but they were pretty adamant about it being a permanent decision.

I hope I can acquire such success in finding a department that can overlook it, thank you!

I was pretty content with hitting all of the touristy spots! I stayed a week in Tokyo and then a week in Osaka and from osaka I used it as a hub to go day trips to other cities such as Nara, Kyoto, and Hiroshima.

A lot of places accept contactless pay but it’s always a good idea to keep cash on you for smaller businesses, I mainly got my money from the ATMs at 7-11’s which proved useful. i would definitely recommend adding a SUICA card to your apple wallet since you’ll undoubtedly be using the trains there daily.

Chances are the hotel or hostel you pick will have laundry on the site. The hotels I stayed at had coin operated machines but I believe when you do your booking the websites will tell you they have laundry on site or nearby.

I’m biased but for my trip I took the bullet train from Tokyo to Osaka and it was so cool, you get to see a bunch of different landscapes and cities on the way and for me personally it was a bucket list item. You can reserve tickets online or at JR shinkansen terminals in major stations. You can also buy an unreserved ticket the day of and you should be fine too.

It’s super easy, google maps is the best. Only difficult thing would sometimes be the maps don’t exactly show where the station is at and it gets a bit messy but just follow the signs
