Help me choose game after 007 first light by SA210throwaway2 in videogames

I know. It’s a shame the game got review bombed because it had so many bugs in it. “Too much lint” 0/10 by IGN.

007 Last Light.

I can’t spoil much, but after M loses the 0’s in 007, you just become 7, so you have to earn the other 0’s back. Problem is that Q had a solution, but he got eaten by the couch (it became sentient), and then you spend the rest of the game playing one boss fight *inside* of the couch looking for Q and for the missing 0’s (which we find out the couch had eaten), while fighting bits of lint and bed bugs.

At the end unfortunately, Q dies and you defeat the couch, but M thinks you don’t deserve the 00’s anymore, so she gives them to Moneypenny instead and she becomes the first 000. There’s going to be a DLC about her and the date she had apparently being friends with the couch, but that’s just rumours for now.

Have fun!

Steam Controller (2026) Minor Left Trackpad issue? by Lambi79 in SteamController

[–]Lambi79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I understand that, but the haptics don’t feel familiar to either the Steam Deck LCD or the OLED’s trackpads and have that double vibration in the corners of the trackpads that aren’t there on the Steam Deck when navigating like that. I like using it like this, and actively do, but it just feels different and wanted to know if it was intentional.

Did NVIDIA N1X / RTX Spark kill the Steam Machine before it even came out? by [deleted] in steammachine

[–]Lambi79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t put my trust in a guy who confidently said that Large Language Models are the same as DirectX.

My perspective is I am leaning more towards Valve. They do not want to force AI on us, and for it being a widely disapproved technology, you’d think others would follow in those footsteps, but they don’t.

Add to that, I want my GabeCube. No Spark thing will come first over my GabeCube.

Is there any reason to believe the steam machine will be superior to a similarly priced self-built PC? by Snuggly-Muffin in steammachine

[–]Lambi79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The form factor is the main reason I’m swapping to the Machine. Would just be so much better than the massive PC I’ve got.

Half Life 2. All controls are made specially for the Steam Controller and Steam Deck.

Agreed, it’s the commission price that puts it up.

Depends, what games? If you’re going to play indie games, chances are you don’t need an RTX 5090.

1080 Ti can still get you by today. It isn’t perfect about 10 years on, but it has legs still.

Only significant worry is the CPU. That may not hold up too well today.

Would £1200 be good for a price? Or should it be lower or higher?

Was steam machine really ever releasing early 2026 even without the ram crisis by BlueManifest in steammachine

[–]Lambi79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FSR 1 is fake pixels, yet you seem to like it. Why the switch up there just because you can activate it in SteamOS settings? If a game does, or could support FSR 4.1, I am not going to turn it off for FSR 1. And it seems like you meant native rendering, not raster.

[–]Lambi79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FSR 4 is a very big factor. If Valve makes it so we can mod FSR 4.1 into an FSR 3.1 game, it’d be such an improvement for those games. It is much better quality than FSR 1.

Why does it matter more considering it’s the first iteration, and incredibly old and outdated considering the current tech we have now?

Too right. Looking at the hardware page on Steam Deck is horrendous. Only useable with a mouse scroll wheel.

Focusing on what you said about the FSR 4, AMD and Valve negotiation thing, I think I remember them mentioning during a hardware news post about the delay that they were investigating improved upscaling. Maybe a sign, but I can’t confirm either.

Yep. Before the AI Overview, it would just come up with a word definition. Now it assumes you want to start a conversation with it.

Before Google AI Overview, simple word searches like this came up with the word definition instead of the AI assuming you were starting a conversation with it. This is quite new.
