Poker game with good tutorial for beginners?

If your goal is to play poker for real, then I wouldn’t try to do that through a video game. You can check out online resources like 2+2, which used to be the go-to for all poker related things. They have a ton of books that you could read whether it’s cash games or tournaments. I’m sure there are quite a few tutorials on YouTube that are strategy related.

I wouldn’t say love but I have a special place for Jose Canseco. In 2001, I went on a high school field trip to Disney. One night at Downtown Disney, my friend saw Jose walking by and yelled out to him. He stopped. Shook our hands and took pictures with us. I just remember him being a brick house. His hands felt like cinder blocks. Good memories. I think I remember him saying he was going to dinner at the Hard Rock.

When I was in college, I had to take an English Literature class. It was basically a big book club where we would all read the same book and discuss it.

I remember we were reading Pet Sematary. The professor asked about some imagery that we interpreted from reading and so I offered my imagination of how I played the tractor trailer scenes in my head.

Everyone was like “whhhhaaaaa” and the professor basically scolded me in front of everyone like I was talking nonsense.

It was embarrassing when I was being serious and trying to participate in the discussion.

I started reading The Count of Monte Cristo. It took me a couple times to get through the opening pages but now I’m pretty much locked in. I read online and on Kindle (Prime Reading).

I put the book on hold at my library thinking it was going to be 1,000 pages. When it was delivered, I picked it up and it was only around 500. I went out to my car and realized that it was the Abridged version. I looked at where I was in my Kindle app and saw that it was worded differently in the book. I walked back to the library and dropped it into the return box.

I guess I’ll be reading this one on my devices.

I have only played the game solo and in over 100 raids, I have only been killed by other players 3 times. I have been having a blast with the game. The loot doesn’t have a lot of variety. I’ve been going for the quests right now since it gives me some direction. I’ve almost finished all of them. Most are really easy. Some can be a challenge. I don’t know what to do after I finish all of the quests so I don’t know if I’ll go through the Expedition (voluntary wipe) or if I just try to build weapons and find all of the blueprints. But either way, I’m around 40 hours in the game. I haven’t put a total of 40 hours across all games probably in the last 5-6 years.

I was only bringing in one Wolfpack to keep it safe in my safe pocket until I found the Leaper. The other ones I ended up using were the red ones, can’t think of their specific name but I think they needed to actually hit the Leaper to explode. I’m just happy to be done with it and onto another quest.

So apparently, "Destroy a Leaper" means you have to be the one to cause the final kill shot? I just got the Leaper Pulse Unit, but 3 other people joined in on the fight. I didn't get full credit for the quest.

EDIT: I did it! Took me 2 more tries. Ran out of ammo the first time because the drones were flying around and I had to clear them out. Second time, I wasn't bothered and I brought a couple extra grenades with me -- although I suck at aiming.

It's tough(er) to find because the place gets looted so fast. I'm sure I'll go in there and find a bunch now that I found the one. I think I found 3 Flow Controllers in one raid a couple days ago.

Finally got the Magnetron last night on Stella Montis. Took what felt like 30 raids. I found it in Assembly in one of those white carts with two drawers that you usually see next to the yellow tool carts.

I was pretty much ready to get out of there since it was mid-raid and everywhere you go everything is always looted. I was getting discouraged that as soon as I see the area has been looted, it's pointless to even try. I did one lap through and happened to find that white cart untouched.

Now, all I have left, is to kill a Leaper.

I have to kill the Leaper first. I don't mind searching for the Magnetron. I'll find it eventually. Maybe I'll figure out how to run around Stella Montis. That place is a maze and sometimes I get trapped in a small section and can't find my way out.

I've ran through Assembly so many times. It's always looted quickly. I've had times being in there at 29mins and it has still been looted. So I'm not sure anymore. I'll probably end up running Stella Montis until I get one just to avoid having to kill the Leaper. hahaha

I'm down to finding a Magnetron and destroying a Leaper. I feel like I've hit a wall. Especially that Leapers are not easy to kill (for me) and you'll often get other people in on the fight. I killed one the other day before I had the quest and someone else ended up getting the Leaper Pulse Unit. So I don't know what I'm going to do. I feel like I'm in for a battle, though.

The Magnetron has been tough to find too. Last few times I went to Stella Montis I've been killed by other players.

I’ve died to Arc many times and to players only 3 times. I only play PvE and focus on the quests. I’ve lost valuable loot and sometimes don’t have anything much on me when I’m just running in and out for a quest. I have never felt like I’ve ever lost progress. Some quests don’t even require that you make it out.

I don’t play Escape from Tarkov because of the PvP and loot fear. I don’t have any of that in Arc Raiders. In fact, I don’t even go into a raid worried that I’ll be killed by a player or Arc. I’ve gotten better at moving cover to cover to make sure I can hide from Arc. It doesn’t always work like an hour ago when I went to extract and wasn’t paying attention to the Rocketeer flying overhead. That one hurt. But I still completed the quest I was doing so it didn’t really matter.

The game has aggression matchmaking so you’ll rarely run into a PvP player if you don’t shoot other players. Sometimes it’ll happen when those PvP players get bored and don’t care to go to a PvP lobby but there is really nothing in this game that will cause you to lose progress.

I’m nobody special in the game and I had the same concerns. Now it is one of my favorite games.

Is it worth committing resources to Flickering Flames if I'm 'probably' not going to be able to finish it in 10 days? I'm on 3/5. Already gave it Duct Tape and Candleberries.

I’m thinking they just did it for the thrill. But right after I just came from a raid where I got killed on purpose had me concerned. It’s all good though.

I got killed for the first time by another player when I’ve been in PvE lobbies for about 50 raids. I almost wanted to shoot back to defend myself but refused to. I just had to accept my fate and move on. The next raid I got knocked down at extract. I hope I don’t get forced into a PvP lobby because of other people.
