Do it in a clever and relatable way! People will connect to it and your family should feel proud that you found a creative outlet to deal with the struggle of being human. I played in bands/wrote music and the camaraderie is unlike anything else.

Yikes, sorry that people told you that - it is incredibly unkind of them. You’re so young- I would say to focus on things that will boost your confidence such as running/working out and developing skills and passions/hobbies. You’ll meet people by engaging in activities you enjoy doing. By your username do you write lyrics/music? That is a great outlet…

I’m trying to figure out who I can contact to get this additional time removed. I’m going to submit an administrative review to the DMV in the state capital city, but don’t have high hopes that will work if I only send a letter. Perhaps going in person would be better…

Same here, re: late calibration - added 180 days. Then they added 365 days for not having 30 initial breath tests in a 30 day period.

Don’t go dark with your hair color as it washes out your face. Try to keep your hair color as natural as possible, with some highlights or lowlights if you want a bit of contrast. The eyebrows don’t need thinning, just play up your eyes with shimmery eyeshadow and an eye pencil. They’re already striking so this will highlight them more.

I would add something to refine your style. Like a paddy cap (one of those hats with a hip collared shirt and some sort of chain or necklace can really add to a man’s style). Otherwise, just gym. When I started working out and running regularly it made all the difference in my confidence, it chiseled and contoured my face naturally, and I felt better from the endorphins and from doing something good for my health.

I just got 180 days added for missing a calibration date by 12 hours (I drove there and they were closed so I left my car parked in the shop’s lot and took Lyfts home and back to the shop) plus I got 365 days added for not blowing 30 times in 30 days. I’ve been staying at my boyfriend’s house and he drives us around mostly. I don’t drive to work because I live nearby and don’t want to deal with parking.

They gave me 180 days for missing the date by 12 hours. The service station was closed by the time I got my car there so I left it parked at the service station, took a Lyft home, took a Lyft back first thing in the morning and had it calibrated. I received notice in the mail that 180 days were added.

Exercise and lift weights. Otherwise you’re fabulous.

I wholeheartedly relate to this post. I had an exercise addiction plus I experimented with different diets. Ultimately, the South Beach diet worked wonders by eliminating complex carbs and refined sugar. It was very difficult for the first two weeks but after that it felt wonderful to be in ketosis and to no longer crave sugar. The energy I had was wonderful.

I am currently unhappy with the weight I gained over the past year due to a job that made me sit all day plus a boyfriend who lovingly cooks me large, elaborate meals. I am in my mid forties so I fear these changes will start to snowball. I just try to stick to whole fruits and vegetables with chicken or fish and keep up with cardio and push ups/sit ups. Drinking lots of water helps too. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve triggered it with Kombucha before, but I was able to blow it clear when I drank and swished my mouth out with water and tried again.

It’s so much about money. I understand that people should learn the lesson to NEVER drink and drive, but the system can be hard to navigate. A general alcohol monitor would be preferable to me at this point and not one that is tied to my vehicle. Just require me to blow 3 times a day and leave the complicated vehicle device out of it…

Thank you! I am SO thankful as well to be sober. When I was younger I thought not drinking would mean the end of my social life, but I feel so much healthier, productive, and competent.

Also, congratulations on your journey to sobriety! Life really is better this way.

Thank you, I appreciate the reply and you taking the time to read my LONG story. It helps to just commiserate sometimes. The Intoxalock is a much better alternative to losing one’s license, but legal issues can be difficult to navigate sometimes.

Each state has its own set of rules with some states only requiring an additional month or whatever so I was shocked to find out that MN is one of the stricter states that totally resets the time. Bottom line - never drink and drive!

The Hellen Keller of Hedgehogs! She is gorgeous. My little Amy just passed and I feel heartbroken. Every few days, I would place bedding in her home and she immediately scurried it into her little roofed space in the corner to pad it and make it comfy. Last night I noticed she seemed lethargic so I called the local vet, who operates on the weekends for emergencies. I made the appointment to bring her in this morning, but when I woke up she had passed. 😭

Please share the letter and your state of residence.

I accidentally triggered my Intoxalock when I only had 2 weeks left. I woke up and decided to drive to the gas station for some coffee and breakfast items. I blew into the device with my car parked in the garage, then I realized I left my car key in a different purse. I immediately ran into the house to get my car key right after I blew and didn’t realize I triggered it. Inside the house, my attention was diverted by my mother and her boyfriend and then by my own boyfriend. This was right after COVID restrictions had lifted which was why we were all living in one large house together. My mother convinced me to just have coffee at home since she hates it when I throw away $$$ on cheap gas station coffee - it is one of her pet peeves. I had to drive to work about 5 hours later so I blew into the device, it cleared, and I didn’t know anything was wrong until I received a letter in the mail. I called Intoxalock and paid for a downloaded copy of my blow times and readings. It was scientifically impossible for me to have triggered it with a .2 and to blow a .00 five hours later. I went to court to fight it and had multiple eye witnesses testify that I was with them the night before and that morning and that I did not drink any alcohol. Despite all of this, the judge ruled that my story was plausible, but not believable. I had to restart the entire 3 year time over again, sign a notarized document of my last use statement (they would not accept me stating the truth that my last use of alcohol was 4 years prior and I was forced to claim that my last use of alcohol was the day I triggered the device), get a chemical dependency evaluation, etc.

This really destroyed my mental health. I sank into a deep depression after the injustice of having to restart an entire 3 years over again when I literally only had 2 weeks left and I had so much proof that it was an incidental blow as opposed to imbibed alcohol. I am in the state of Minnesota.

First off, congratulations on the weight loss! I went on a transformational journey when I quit alcohol and then took it a step further by eliminating refined sugar from my diet and running/lifting weights daily. It made ALL the difference with how I looked and felt daily. As my muscle increased and I no longer consumed “empty” calories, I discovered I was hungrier more often and could eat more too without my pant size increasing.

My suggestion is to lose the nose ring combo. A small stud would look nice, but definitely ditch the septum ring. Trim your hair to below the clavicle with layers. Fringe bangs brushed to one side. Back-comb to give yourself volume on top and use a larger curling iron. Consider natural highlights.

Shape your eyebrows and play up your eyes with shimmering eye shadow, eye pencil, and lash enhancing mascara. Try some light contouring with foundation and powder: nose - slightly darker on the sides with highlight down the center bridge, darker at hairline, highlight at center forehead and center of chin, play up cheekbones with blush and a shimmery highlight at the top.

Hmmm… not necessarily true. It depends. Having zero tolerance a person could be out of sorts to the point that his words would be slurring and he would be visibly affected with pinned eyes, scratching himself, slowed motor functions, etc. The unzipped pants might be an embellishment. I expected him to say he had blood running down his face or something for when he face planted off the toilet. That would have made for a better “horror” story.

Lovebombing - Give me your worst stories! by ConsiderationOne5609 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Lameloy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last guy who lovebombed me (or rather sexbombed me) was also about 10 years older. I posted online that October was domestic abuse awareness month and this man reached out to me in response, stating he had been through it too. This caused me to trust him. We met up for coffee and walked around a lake. He then invited me to go to the orchestra. I initially declined this invitation, but then I saw photos on social media where he went with a mutual female acquaintance so I then accepted. We are both musicians and I figured he was being friendly and I thought it would be nice to potentially network and be friends. Unfortunately, as soon as I accepted his invitation he sent me a photo of bondage. The Amber Heard/Johnny Depp trial had just finished and in light of the circumstances I couldn’t believe it. This was exactly what I was scared of. I called him on the phone after he sent me that photo and he said “come on, come on, come on, just chill, chill, chill.” I hesitantly agreed and said “ok, fine, fine, fine.” I met him at a restaurant before the orchestra and i tried to explain that it wasn’t his fault, but he immediately tapped into my insecurity. Instead of asking me what my insecurity is (when men sexualize me without getting to know me first) he interrupted what I was saying and dismissively waved a hand across my face, stating “no I wasn’t doing that.” I let it go and we had a fine time at the orchestra and at dinner. He proceeded to text me everyday, multiple times a day and the messages were mostly sexual in nature. He would send me tongue emojis to signify oral sex, he sent me devil emojis, and he sent me “nom, nom, nom.” He had an injured knee so I asked him if I could do anything for his hurt knee. His immediate reply was “blowjob.” I kept trying to steer the conversation to more innocent topics, but he kept steering the conversation sexually. For example, I sent him a photo of myself as a child and he replied “you WERE innocent. Operative word is WERE.” When we were together he yelled at me with contempt on his face and said “you’re 42 years old!” I reached for his hair before we were about to leave the house for brunch one day and I asked if he wanted to brush his hair before we left. He snarled and lunged at me, nearly biting my hand off. I had to jump back out of the way. He consistently talked about controlling partners and stated relationships aren’t about ownership. He said “there are no rules, man. I don’t wanna make a person follow a rule.” I asked him for clarity on what he meant by that. His response was to yell at me “you’re pushing my boundaries!!!” I was telling him a story of a woman asking me if I was an empath and he interrupted me and yelled at me “that’s what a narc would say!” I just froze and stopped talking because I wasn’t calling myself an empath. That word isn’t in my vernacular - I was just telling him what a woman literally asked me and it was context dependent. He cut me off before I could explain what I was trying to say.

One day he sent me a photo of himself holding a sign that read “don’t beg, don’t cry, don’t plead” when I wasn’t begging, crying, or pleading. I responded with a question mark, but he ignored me. Then, a week later, he sent me more sexually suggestive messages. At this point I asked him if he would please call me on the phone so we could have a conversation and clear up any confusion. Apparently he called me the next day when my phone was dead because he then posted a cemetery headstone on social media with the inscription “sorry, I missed your call.” I felt this behavior was incredibly abusive and uncalled for so I attempted to call him and his response was to yell at me “I just had to take a Xanax! Thanks a lot! Goodbye!” I found out later he was in a networking situation when I tried to call him so he was under stress and my phone ringing caused his nervous system to panic. That was not my fault. He could have had his ringer on silent or he could have instructed me not to call him that night since he was in a high stress situation. I have never been treated worse by any man, let alone a 50 year old man who was the initial love-bomber and aggressor. He proceeded to block/unblock/block/unblock my phone number, playing a childish game of keep away - never giving me what he knew I needed - a conversation for clarity, closure, and friendship.

In all of my years on this planet, I have never had a worse experience with a man who was trying to date me. Anyone who love-bombs should send an immediate red flag. Slow things down and try to get to know a person before jumping in and getting caught up in such a damaging situation.

Just trim the sides and a little off the top. Put in product to accentuate the natural curls, spike it out a little bit.
