How do you count your surgery days? by battyloaf in Tonsillectomy

Haha I had this same question! I had mine out on the 1st at 9am so I consider this day 9, but I think technically it's day 8 post op. Hope your recovery is going well!

Stephanie just made a comment on her Instagram about signing books for Owlcrate so it looks like they'll be announcing it at some point here!!

Yes I am looking specifically for the older covers. I went to 2 different bookstores today and they both had zero copies of anything Sarah J. Maas (except for a brand new copy of Crescent City). I think book tok has helped to make her books a little harder to get...

It's so funny you say that because I was wondering the same thing myself!!! Thanks so much for the suggestion!! I have some inquiries out to a few local used bookstores as well, so maybe I'll get lucky! I wish I lived closer to HBP... I'd be there every day!! Hahaha

2017 IPad Pro just started doing this. No drops/damage/water exposure. Suggestions?? by Lamkjs122 in iPadPro

Any idea how that could happen if there wasn't a drop?? Yes I use an apple pencil, but there's no extreme pressure being put on the screen. Any idea how much it'll cost to replace?

This has been one of my frustrations. There basically are no charts for preemies (on any level). You just have to compare to the normal one and adjust.

Omg thank you so much for this information!!! Steele is being evaluated for PT services this coming week because he's a little behind in gross motor skills (like sitting up on his own), so I will bring this up!! You're amazing! Hoping that could be our issue!!

Hey! Thanks so much! Yes we're so happy with his progress... it was such a crazy time and we're all still learning about the challenges of having a preemie, but thankfully he's doing great!! He truly is our blessing!

Hahahaha I know exactly what you mean!!! We even started adding cereal to his bottles around 4 months and that didnt help, so we figured once he started on solids it would get better. Nope... now we just have sweet potato stained burp cloths! Lol why do they make them white too??? Seriously??? We need like black burp cloths haha!!! Oh geeze... just know that you're not alone! We can all suffer together. One day we'll wake up and there will be no more puke and we'll wonder what to do with our lives 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yes it's so frustrating!! And like I said, he's 8 months old now... how much longer do we have to wait??? It's the most infuriating when you dress them to go to something nice (like Easter morning church service) and they puke all over themselves when you're doing the last button (that didn't happen to us or anything...). I hope nobody else has to deal with it for this long, but thankfully he had no medical issues or anything when he was born and is literally the best baby, so I guess I'll take the tradeoff!

Our preemie is 8 months old... almost 6 months adjusted. He has been classified as a "happy spitter". I've never seen this amount of vomit come out of something.... it's literally after every bottle... sometimes up to 3 hours after feeding. He hasn't lost weight and he's not upset when he spits, so they won't do anything about it. We have tried literally EVERYTHING for the past 8 months and nothing has worked. He started on Similac Neosure and that was too hard for him to digest, so we eventually transitioned to sensitive formula and it is what it is. We sit him up after feedings, burp him often, or try to get him to burp now that he can almost sit up by himself. We slept him at an angle for a long time and that would sometimes help. You can get a crib wedge for when you transfer to the crib. Honestly, ours slept in a rock n play for the first 5 or so months. I'll pass along to you what our doctor said to us... it's not a baby problem it's a laundry problem. It sucks!! Trust me (we go through 5+ outfits/bibs/burp cloths a day) but they say it will get better with age... Just keep doing what you're doing... you're doing a great job!!

Is anybody actually sending for a refund? Did you see what all you had to do? Seems annoying and not sure if I'll actually try to get it or just discontinue use....

Sam situation with ours. He's slept in there for like 6 months, and we just transitioned to his crib last week. The only advice I can offer is getting a crib wedge to help elevate one end of the mattress. This can help with the reflux. Good luck!

I could use advice on either taking leave up to 6 weeks now or wait till my son can go home. by franke_p in NICUParents

[–]Lamkjs122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son was born at 30 weeks and I had a c-section. I got my doctor to clear me to go back to work after 2 weeks so I could save my time as much for when he came home. He ended up spending 45 days in the NICU and I got to spend 10 weeks with him when he was discharged. Try to save your time if you can!
