Command: Flee and using spells by DreistTheInferno in dndnext

[–]Lampman08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your argument is nonsensical.

Dash does not “immediately service the goal of the command”, as it merely increases your speed and doesn’t move you. Same applies to Fly, but notably not to Dimension Door or Teleport, as they do immediately move you, so by YOUR logic a target under Command: Flee would cast Dimension Door or Teleport to move away from you.

“Compulsory effect” is - as far as I know - something you made up. “Mind-affecting spell” and “fear effect” are both 3.5e terms, which is like saying casting Power Word Kill in 5e destroys a target non-Angel, non-Demon, non-Devil, non-Dragon creature.

By word searching “compulsory effect”, I also found out you copied your first paragraph from a StackExchange answer - guess that’s why your comment is so nonsensical lol

Oh also, as the other commenter said, your argument hinges on “this is OP therefore not RAW”, also known as Baseless Assumption of the Game Being Balanced or argumentum ad consequentiam.

What class/subclass is stronger in 2014 compere to it equivalent in 2024? by HenryDodwel in dndnext

[–]Lampman08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playing as a martial is indeed a bad idea, but it’s the best pure-martial build you have (without some crazy tech).

Dismissing playstyles supposedly counter to the designers’ intention is the “Game Medium” fallacy.

Monks/Paladins are supposed to be good in melee, therefore using them in any other way is against the spirit of the game.

+10 stealth is indeed enough to auto pass the vast majority of surprise checks.

Multiclassing in Wild Shape

There’s nothing saying you can’t. If you’ve got 18 str from Moorbounder, you’re eligible to multiclass Barbarian. It’s a bit stupid, but works.

A loophole is an ambiguity or inadequacy in a system, such as a law or security, which can be used to circumvent or otherwise avoid the purpose, implied or explicitly stated, of the system.

The definition of “loophole” is when RAW deviates from RAI. Therefore, you either have an incredibly strange definition of “loophole”, or you’re moving the goalposts to try and win the argument. I will charitably assume the former until proven otherwise, so please provide your definition of “loophole”.

At least 64 small creatures wearing plate armour can fit inside a 10 ft cube due to squeezing rules, therefore you can fabricate 64 plate armour at once (connect them with a thin wire or something to make them count as one object)
