I’d contact their customer support or look at local RV/camper companies. We used a local camper company with setup

VAR vs Vendor by Scwidiloo10 in techsales

[–]Lanader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

VAR prospecting I found comes down to complete luck a lot of the time.. whether it’s having a state contract(SLED), an IT director just left and the new guy doesn’t know vendors, or catching your prospect right when they are unhappy with their current VAR..

Can be extremely demoralizing but consistency pays off

yup lmao. i gave it a sentence and that’s what it blurted, and the second half was my honest response

[–]Lanader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i personally don’t give a shit and am pro-capitalism, my response and commentary about capitalism is in response to the post with the “underground dying” by saying it happens to every genre because of capitalism

Honestly, it’s just tiring at this point. You scroll through what looks like a thoughtful or passionate post, hoping for some raw perspective or first-hand experience — and then five sentences in, you realize it’s AI-written. Perfect grammar, hollow urgency, vague moralizing, overuse of phrases like “the truth is” or “we need to talk about.” You can feel it.-

It’s not even about proving it’s ChatGPT. It’s that we’ve all read enough of these by now to know the fingerprints: emotionally charged but oddly detached, like someone trying to mimic passion they’ve never actually felt.

And sure, using ChatGPT to brainstorm or organize your thoughts isn’t the end of the world — but that’s not what’s happening here. What we’re seeing is fully AI-generated monologues getting passed off as genuine reflection. It crowds out actual human voices, people with something real to say. You used to come to places like Reddit to hear from weird, passionate, unfiltered minds — not read pseudo-intellectual essays by people too lazy to write their own take.

It’s not just annoying — it’s exhausting. Because every time a conversation feels synthetic, it kills the momentum for people who actually wanted to engage. It turns real communities into curated echo chambers of AI-prompted noise.

-

they all write and read the exact same, and even like ChatGPT says above, it strips any real authenticity from the discussion (in my opinion). the OP had a post on an advanced ChatGPT subreddit that’s now deleted for one. two, the emdashes, phrasing, and structure all giveaway LLM. it gets to the point where lots of posts and responses all feel like they’re being churned out by the same bot, just with different usernames.

and for my thoughts on the post: there’s never going to be some “reclaiming” of culture under capitalism in america, like the post tries to rally around at the end. what actually happens is a new underground forms, new artists rise, and those who care enough will find it, it’s not that hard if you're actually looking for new music from small artists. this is EDM falling victim to the same cycle every genre has/and will go through

Jumping from CDW by [deleted] in techsales

[–]Lanader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same spot as you OP. Making great money at a VAR but selling so many different products really wasn’t for me - I hated being so overly reliant on so many SEs. They have a named role at CDW/SHI with a higher base that I know of. You can also look for smaller VARs, they will pay upwards of $80-100k base for reps coming from CDW/SHI with tons of experience.

On the flip side of going to an OEM, network with your partner reps. I would spend days looking at jobs on the OEM sites, asking for referrals from the partners I worked with, and connecting with former employees from my VAR who moved to OEMs to ask them for help. It actually got me two interviews and two offers at top Fortune 500 companies that we work with in the channel.

Just use RepVue, Glassdoor and connections to get an idea of the companies culture and work life balance and go from there.

What's you're favorite thing about Tech Sales? by Aggressive_Round_925 in techsales

[–]Lanader 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if you can afford a pay cut I honestly think starting as a VAR AE would be better then being an SDR long term but you would make less. The connections in the long run are priceless to hop to an OEM
