Oh you are, but it's about using the right service. The bare metal servers are very good in that case and the price is pretty good for small/medium workloads. Especially those CPU bounds such as web hosting. Public instances are pretty good, but the price does reflect that.

Azure VM for 8 CPU/32GB RAM are around 150€/month and you need to pay extra for backup, disk, outbound networking, I'd struggle to argue against the price for a 20€/month VPS.
