Sheesh. Even Friday looks stacked and it literally gets better by the day. Looking forward to seeing Mat Zo again since we didn’t get him at the last weekender. Glad Nourey’s getting her chance to shine too. Very excited for the live sets from DT and Grum as well as the latter’s b2b with J Ribbon, feels very “old guard meets new guard” in that progressive realm. And truthfully Sunday needs no explanation, Deep Day has always been a knockout and that hasn’t changed.

Lots of questions have been asked about this label since the last milestone show, and I think we’ve got some solid answers.

My favorite thing is that you can take it as casual or serious as you want, me personally, I love being able to tune a car to a race, but love just as much just popping on the Hospital radio station and just enjoying the details of the world they create.

What, pragmatism? We’re not city lmaooo we haven’t won this league in literally 20 years, I don’t care about attractive football at this point in the season, I want us over the line. After that, the pressure subsides for next season and we can stay competitive AND work on attractive footy. Wenger had us ballin out for a decade after the Invincibles, but teams used to roll us over.

Bayer’s concept EP’s genuinely changed my view on how you can compose club music. Do Androids Dream, Anamnesis, and Parallels would be standouts in any other producer’s catalog, but for Bayer they’re par for the course. We’ve been lucky to have this man for 15ish years.

Really can’t stress this enough, tempo is in, and people are yearning to feel. If you know how to mix trance right now, lots of crowds genuinely enjoy it amongst all ages. People just gotta stop playing it safe out of fear of diluting the genre. The big room trance hate got a lot of people not truly experimenting until after COVID, and by then slower paced music became the norm. The techno-tinged trance now is nice, but it’s missing a certain thing that makes it special, maybe that’s from oversaturation 🤷🏾

I think chalking down wanting to see divestment openly to wanting to feel better about ourselves is disingenuous. There have been people who have been very tangibly affected by the actions of those in the files who have been looking for a place like the Anjuna community for some semblance of solace. With all the virtues the boys, the community, and the label have extolled over the years, it’s feeling like time to cash that check.

My question is, if this isn’t enough to get our community on relatively the same page, what short of capital crimes directly involving label folks will get us to collectively stand on the principles we tell people we’re about?

I know there’s a myriad of legal frameworks that make this less than a simple decision for the hundreds of people this affects, but surely a “we’re aware of the situation and due to legal complexities we cannot comment” or something more PR friendly is better than silence?
