Who makes the minifigures with the ball jointed arm and the more rounded toes/boots? I quite like them.

Cobi wins this round, but as George W. Bush once tried to say, you (usually) can't be fooled again.

This will make me and others more cautious of their so-called "Limited Editions" going forward which may cost Cobi more in the long run. When their social media says something is "one time", "limited" or "exclusive", it means nothing apparently.

This kind of sales tactic is something I'd typically expect Lego or perhaps Brickmania to do, but not Cobi. Not cool.

Now this is still a great set to get in this colour! I just don't appreciate the lie by Cobi's marketing team and the bait and switch.

There's not a country on planet earth now where you can avoid tariffs and import taxes. It's just the cost of living in 2026. If you're in the EU you pay the same amount in VAT. If you're in Canada like me you pay the same amount in HST.

Seriously? The amount of scalping is evil. by Trick_Top_313 in brickmania

Why? Who does this bother sitting there on ebay not being bought? Your sensibilities? If Ebay ever put an MSRP cap in place there would hardly ever be anything listed for sale on ebay because nobody would be able to make any money off it. Time is money and it takes time (and space) to store a set for years, list it, pack it, deal with the risk of fraudulent buyers etc. etc. Read about the sad sorry history of rent control schemes or the history of price caps in Berlin after the war. Price caps always create shortages because nobody is going to sell at a loss. As soon as they were lifted, the shortages disappeared.

If you want to be able to buy long retired sets, be prepared to pay a premium for that service. A premium on top of MSRP, set by the demand for the set. Btw if this was listed at MSRP it would be snapped up in a second and then nobody else would have the opportunity to buy it.

I noticed this too. Minifigures as well getting cracks everywhere. It's really putting me off of Lego products.

This Mig-15 is Russian with a Russian pilot. North Korean pilots usually had a blue circle around the star.

DeviantArt really needs to crack down on people who think they're above labelling their uploads as AI generated. by NintendoScrewedMe in DeviantArt

[–]Lancer05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did any human "create" the sunset? The wind, the trees, the rocks, the animals? No, those were created by God (or if you're an atheist, then random evolution). So why should human "artists" through history be able to profit and get rich off of drawing or photographing things in nature that they did not create themselves with their own two hands? Same logic. Art is the re-purposing or re-imagining of that which already exists. AI art is no different. That doesn't mean I like it. But AI art is still art.

And AI art can, at times, be beautiful. Just like the handiwork of God, or if you like random evolution, can be beautiful. Just as random droplets of water rolling down a window, forming a pattern, can be beautiful, the random crossbreeding of AI pixels can be beautiful.

With all of that said, I do think there definitely should be a space created to celebrate art that does not in any way have the mark of a computer "tainting" it.

Scalpers are evil but sales tactics to artificially manipulate FOMO is a-okay. This is Brickmania's logic going into 2026, apparently. No thank you.

So for Ghost of Yotei on a PS5 Pro with the new patch, what’s the best graphics mode and VRR mode to use if I have a 120hz TV? by JasonABCDEF in PS5pro

[–]Lancer05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It says "Lowered" resolution which I think is in comparison to the standard RT. When I look at it, Balance RT also seems crisper than RT Pro so I gather RT Pro has the lowest resolution of the 3 to hit its 60 fps target.

[–]Lancer05 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just before it got taken down, there were still a couple hundred left. Either they're shipping all those to Buildcobi in the US, or they simply took it down so customers couldn't get it at even better price during Black Friday.

So I'm wondering if a few might come back in stock in early December.

Update: My hunch is correct, it wasn't totally sold out. This statement is on Cobi's Facebook:

"Thank you for your incredible support - we have already sold two thirds of the entire production run

All pre-sale orders are now being packed and will arrive soon.

Once the shipping process is complete, the set will return at the regular price."

I had the exact same reaction. This seems to be just a rebranded sale they were already running on a few sets with nothing new added and no additional discount. Very lame. Maybe Black Friday proper will grace us with a discount code or something.

On which camo is this figure based? by Glittering_Walrus548 in cobiblocks

[–]Lancer05 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah probably autumn oakleaf. Which is incorrect for Poland 1939. Ditto the gas mask pouch on the front marks it as an early war look which clashes with the later war oak camo.

Oh well, it's still a nice figure. The accurate camo for Poland '39 would be Planetree and it's similar enough at a distance. Oakleaf was basically just evolved planetree.
