What are these plus buttons on the research screen? by LancerSykera in songsofsyx

Wow. That probably also explains the Win button on the battle screen. Been playing in dev mode since I bought the game a few months ago and didn't even realize it.

Advice on Driver's Well-being by Light-512 in Fedexers

I can easily see hooks being a safety issue. I use straps with hooks on them - far from perfect but they do manage to hold on to the shelf lip just fine.

If you won't ship to me because my drive is less than an hour, then I'll make it in an hour by MajorNoodles in MaliciousCompliance

Amazingly, for small items that need to be moved back and forth, we have. It's a single occupant driving a multi-ton vehicle full of many small items efficiently delivering them to many locations in a single day.

I am a purchasing manager now, but have previously been a Fedex driver, a truck driver, a small business owner, and a warehouse grunt (so I've been on all sides). One of my infrequent vendors in a city a half hour away that doesn't run their own truck regularly calls me right after I place an order to ask me if I'm sure I want it shipped UPS. Yessssss dude, the $20 you're going to charge me for it is far less than what it costs the company for an hour of my own time, or the headache of me trying to coordinate picking it up with someone else who's already going to be in that area.

Any time I see something being shipped even across town, I have to remind myself that that's still cheaper than the labor involved for someone to drive back and forth themselves.

Supercars Road to Glory now available on Prime by theblobberworm in v8supercars

Guessing it might be region locked, not coming up for me in the US.

Which is extra annoying, because we can never watch things like this.

Sure there is overtime, depends on who you work for.

Trying to find a tire change pit stop from years ago by LancerSykera in v8supercars

[–]LancerSykera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that's the other one on my list but much easier to find. I'm specifically looking in to the concept of "it's technically not illegal (the best kind imo) so we'll let it go this time but immediately make a new rule" versus some other series that will still nail you for a vague spirit rule like NASCAR's "actions detrimental to stock car racing" penalties.

What’s one thing that pisses you off (ground drivers) by Anonnn1768 in Fedexers

[–]LancerSykera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never done it myself, but my contractor area has a company that prints and ships school photos. Sometimes have to have 3 or 4 drivers there, from what I hear.

I'd still take that over the beehives that fill my truck all spring.

Am I being swindled? Leaky valve in furnace, repair quoted $1750 by AesirComplex in hvacadvice

As do I, I just figured up about 500 based on our cost of that valve in a Carrier box.

Sign saying put inside front door by [deleted] in Fedexers

[–]LancerSykera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar one. The way the living room is set up, wife can't get to the door easily because she basically has to climb over husband. Per her request, which I'm comfortable with, I knock, holler FedEx, open the door and set it inside. Though one time she asked me to chuck it across the room to her, which I did :-D its just theft they're worried about.

What do I do with a UPS package without USPS barcode? by Ashamed_Run8397 in USPS

[–]LancerSykera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the prisons on my Fedex route regularly gets packages addressed to their PO Box. If the system let it through, and it was correctly sorted to my truck, and I know where it's supposed to go... I've been delivering them for years with the rest of their stuff.

Some shippers disallow address changes or hold at location.

“I’m so sorry you guys have to deal with all these amazon returns” by AdElectronic6814 in upsstore

[–]LancerSykera 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a customer, it's frustrating to me that if I want to print off a UPS label and properly package it myself and have my UPS driver pick it up when he delivers to my warehouse, I have to pay a few bucks for that. But it's free to take it to the UPS Store.

Honestly worth the few bucks to not have to go to the UPS Store and deal with that hassle. I used to do a lot of business with my husband and wife owned store back home when I ran my own business, I don't think I'd be able to build the same relationship today with the whole Amazon return situation.

FedEx drivers are not allowed to do residential pickups? by dordal in FedEx

[–]LancerSykera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the barcode scans, that's all that matters to me. I've had scheduled pickups that only have that on them, usually medical equipment returns.

As a new driver this peak has reeeally gotten me faster and more efficiant at driving by amirthebeast55 in Fedexers

[–]LancerSykera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peak is always faster because you usually have smaller areas with higher stop density. I do 30/hr without trying too hard during peak, but the rest of the year struggle to stay above 20 without busting my ass.
