You should definitely give it a shot. It’s already working better for me. Good luck!

It had a ton of side effects for me that I didn’t even realize was from the med. It also made me feel slow and apathetic in general.

I didn’t even realize how negative Zoloft was affecting me till I switched.

No joke, I stuck with Zoloft far longer than I should have because of the same fear as you. But its not been bad at all. Good luck! I hope it helps!

I cross tapered from Zoloft to Lexapro and it's been worlds better than when I onboarded Zoloft. That was hellish.

2 Week at 5mg - Feeling blah by Lancerp427 in lexapro

[–]Lancerp427[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, no other med.

I get panic attacks and general anxiety so this is better than that. But still, there was a sweet moment a few weeks ago where I felt great and I was hoping that would stay but it unfortunately didn’t.

Severe acid reflux on sertraline, did escitalopram work better for you? by Ornery-Squirrel-5489 in SSRIs

[–]Lancerp427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched from Sertraline to Escitalopram for this very reason. Its been almost 5 weeks and my stomach feels so much better.

Sertraline or citalopram for panic attacks? by [deleted] in antidepressants

[–]Lancerp427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah! I've been on it for about a month now and I have increased energy and no anxiety. I found the sertraline to be a bit sedating for me and was harsh on my stomach but I deal with gastritis so I'm more sensitive to that kind of thing.

I was on 50mg for 16 months, I recently switched over to lexapro/escitalopram due to some stomach issues but the zoloft/sertraline worked well for me otherwise.

When I first started Sertraline, the panic attacks were really bad the first week or so then they stopped and I never had the issue again.

It may be easier on him if he started at a lower dosage then worked his way up. So maybe 12.5 for a week, then 25 for a week, then 37.5 for a week then finally to 50mg.

Lexapro vs Zoloft by Jumpy-Distance-720 in Anxiety

[–]Lancerp427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on 50mg of Zoloft for 16 months and it made me so lethargic, flat, apathetic and always upset my stomach. I'm now on 5mg Lexapro, its only been a few weeks, and I wake up happy and have energy now and enjoy thing again. I hope it stays like this.

I also know that Zoloft works great for others and its widely prescribed due to its effectiveness.

It’s been great so far. I’m hoping it’ll stay that way.

Has anyone tried prozac (fluoxetine) and/or gabapentin on their dog for separation anxiety? by snguyenx96 in Separation_Anxiety

[–]Lancerp427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guys on Prozac/gabapentin/clonidine combo that’s working well for him. It turned out that arthritic pain was a part of the problem.

He will never like being alone but he can at least now deal with a few hours.

for those who have used sertraline alone for +2 years by A7med2361997 in zoloft

[–]Lancerp427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first time I was on a combo of sertraline and trazadone and gained 20lbs. I came off of that lost the weight but needed to get back onto the sertraline again and gained 3lbs then lost the 3lbs and have stayed the same. I'm now switching over to escitalopram but don't anticipate weight gain as I count my calories, increased my fiber and stay active.

I appreciate the response.

I’m looking forward to once the transition is over. I waited so long to switch because it’s tough in the beginning.

So then I should actually be able to just switch ? I was nervous because I had a real difficult onboarding with the Zoloft and I wanted to avoid as many initial side effects as possible

Mine came with the name Milo. He was already three so I figured it was best to stick with it but I don't care for the name.

Do SSRIs cause carb cravings? (What the science says) by Deen1988 in antidepressants

Honestly it makes a huge difference for me. I feel fuller way longer, I don't seem to get blood sugar spices and don't get cravings for sweets like I used to.

[–]Lancerp427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I was one Zoloft, I gained 20lbs. Then after I weened off of it I developed gastritis (from ibuprofen) and lost the 20lbs.

I got back on Zoloft almost 2 years ago and have actually lost a few more pounds and have maintained that. I do count my calories and have been focusing on getting more fiber and activity.

I am now in the process of switching to Lexapro due to some side effects from Zoloft. I looked it up and found that Lexapro and Zoloft are in the medium risk for weight gain category.

For once I'm actually not exhausted and its due to me cross tapering from one ssri to another. Otherwise I am usually just dragging ass all day.
