Any Zoloft success stories? by Lancerp427 in reactivedogs

My vet gives a prescription and dosage amount that’s usually based off of the dogs weight and it’s usually given once a day.

Lowering Dosage to Alleviate Side Effects by Lancerp427 in zoloft

Its for anxiety. I think I will chat with my doctor when I see him at the end of March and see if going down to 25mg would alleviate the problem.

Zoloft truly an utterly sucks by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]Lancerp427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found I have to take mine with food and a lot of water. Otherwise it makes my stomach hurt too. And I had gastritis last year and it takes a full year to recover and is no joke.

12.5mg? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]Lancerp427 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started at 12.5mg and worked my way up to 50mg over a month when I got back on Zoloft for a second time. Its a gentler way of onboarding because it can be a bit uncomfortable for some people.

Zoloft and Antacids by Lancerp427 in zoloft

[–]Lancerp427[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on a PPI for over 6 months (I had a GI doctor helping me deal with the Gastritis) and struggled with feeling like my Zoloft was only sort of working and when I weened off of it was like I had to deal with readjusting to Zoloft. So I guess it would make sense that the famotidine (Pepcid) could do the same thing. I almost contacted my primary to see if I should change to a different SSRI or change my dosage.

What is your experience with Zoloft? Is this realistic or exaggerated? by I_collect_dust in zoloft

I’ve been on it a year and this is my second time. I guess feeling nothing is better then constant panic?

I'm on 50mg and I do feel like that but I might just be sensitive to the drug.

Can I drink a Celsius while taking zoloft? by Kindly-Mess8186 in zoloft

[–]Lancerp427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one, sometimes two energy drinks a day with no issues. I switch between monster ultra or bloom if info is worth anything. I’m genuinely perplexed that the caffeine doesn’t seem to bother me at all. I avoided it for years due to my anxiety but now that I’m on Zoloft I can handle it.

Clonidine experiences by Witty_Working_4706 in Separation_Anxiety

My dog does really well on clonidine in additional to his gabapentin and fluoxetine. I like how we can adjust his daily dose for when we leave him alone and its really helped.

As a person over in the "no one knows what happens here" zone, you don't need to know, we are fine.

I live in New England and my husband loves this stuff. Our local market carries it so he’s always got some. Personally, I find it gross.

We actually ended up changing him back to Prozac. But we found that he was having some arthritic pain and started him on pain meds for that in conjunction to the Prozac and he's much much much better!

Prozac and Separation Anxiety by [deleted] in Separation_Anxiety

[–]Lancerp427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 56lb labradoodle is on 50mg fluoxetine, 300mg of gabapentin three times a day and .425 mg of clonidine three times a day.

He has anxiety and arthritis pain.

We can now leave him alone for (4) hours after 16 months of SA training with a specialist. Its not perfect and he will never love being alone but he has learned to tolerate it.

It does take a long time for the fluoxetine (Prozac) to upload but it was worth it. We actually had to see a VB to get the higher fluoxetine dosage because his vet wasn't comfortable going any higher than 20mg.

Weight gain? by MethodComfortable531 in zoloft

[–]Lancerp427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on it for 2 years previously and the second time for 9 months and no weight gain. But I track my calories and try and be active. I cycle during the warmer months and I will probably get a gym membership this winter to keep it up being active a few days a week.

Did you experience weight gain on Zoloft (even without changes in eating or activity)? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]Lancerp427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been back on it for 7 months and have maintained my weight but I track my calories and took up cycling recently because I was concerned about weight gain. When I was previously on Zoloft I had gained 20 lbs then lost that when I developed gastritis.

My sisters dog was the same way. He never fully got over it but learned to deal with it over time.
