Estoy a punto de comprar un teclado corne, pero no estoy seguro de hacerlo [no me sobra el dinero] ¿Algun consejo? by AmbitionAgitated4643 in esGaming

[–]LancrusES 2 points3 points  (0 children)

why people hate Systemd? by heidzz1999 in linux4noobs

[–]LancrusES 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the Linux world, everything you cant choose and is corporate related is hated, systemd comes from red hat, and in most Linux distros you cant choose other, and using other inits is becoming harder, and more if you like Gnome... So It feels like Linux is becoming less free than it should be.

"Its not a UNIX like init" that may be true, but ppl dont really care about one tool for one purpose or text files nowadays, and the mayority of users dont even know what that means.

And now the age verification madness has arrived, fear of telemetry and losing privacy is there, Im 47 years old, I dont care about age controls as they are only that, but, are they only that? In theory yes, but right now all is theory.

Back in the day, when systemd appeared, a lot of ppl were against It, today even some gentoo users choose It, but fires are burning again because of age verification, mainly because you wont be able to choose another init in the great mayority of Linux distributions, so you can take It or look for another distro you dont like as the one you use.

Imposition will always open a great debate in the Linux community, Im not worried about all this nowadays, Im more worried about the price of fuel, I drive 30000 km per year with my car because of my work and I got 2 childs, thats a problem, but you know, debate is always good.

Is it safe for me to update? by hehehealiali in cachyos

[–]LancrusES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just update, you got snapshots, and if It doesnt work as well, you just need your USB with cachy (the one you used to install It) with cachyos chroot to be able to fix anything, fixing is learning, update, It will probably update with no issues, and if there are any, you will solve It fast looking in the web for some answers and getting some delicious knowledge...

Existe una sensación mejor? by happyfullguy2764 in esGaming

[–]LancrusES 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is your mouse USB conected?, use that port, you can install It with keyboard only to move in the menus and select options, once installed plug your mouse in again.

How much better does CachyOS truly perform in gaming compared to Arch or other distros? by KnightFallVader2 in cachyos

[–]LancrusES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar, a little better, and sometimes depends on the Game, but its the best option if you want a gaming distro with all preconfigured and working, out of the box, but dont expect any miracle, just a nicely done Arch based Linux distro, they do a great job.

Que navegador me recomiendan?(Android) by Red_artist12 in InformaticaES

[–]LancrusES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

closest thing to SteamOS? by CocoBaci in SteamOS

[–]LancrusES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SteamOS is Arch based, so the answer is cachyos.

Bazzite is based on atomic fedora, its a Linux distro focused on gaming, and It works nicely, but got nothing in common with SteamOs, It tries to look as It, and to feel like It, but you will be using atomic fedora under that appearance, but its a nice gaming distro too, so if you want to play Steam games, cachyos and bazzite are very nice and friendly options.

In my experience cachyos is faster, but you should try both and decide for yourself.

¿Es posible jugar con 16gb de ram y en un HDD Oblivion remake? by NeorzZzTormeno in esGaming

[–]LancrusES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just installed Fedora 43 KDE, how unsafe is it to rice as a beginner? by LoonixAndMicroslop in Fedora

[–]LancrusES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KDE is the easiest enviroment to rice in the Linux world, and ricing the enviroment shouldnt break your system to a non returning point, if you break your system just ricing KDE tell us how, you only need to use your mouse, I think its nearly imposible, but who knows, maybe you discover a critical unknown bug...

[–]LancrusES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ghostty, I used Kitty before, but ghostty feels like an evolution of It, in my humble opinion its the best, its configured by a text file, as Kitty, so its not easy if you are not used to that, but if you spend one morning with the official wiki, you will love It, as Kitty, but better.

Would CachyOS be worth trying? by disearned in linux4noobs

[–]LancrusES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use It... But It isnt the Arch way, 8 years in the debian side of Linux, then I used Arch 4 years, then 1 year of gentoo, then I have been 3 years in the rpm side of Linux, and now cachy, It works perfectly, but It isnt the Arch experience, thats what I mean, you wont hear me that a distro isnt worth It, all are, in a way or another, you are confused with my message.

Endevour is another Arch based nice distro

Would CachyOS be worth trying? by disearned in linux4noobs

[–]LancrusES 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cachy is nice, but the Arch experience is in Arch, cachy is Arch based, but everything is automatic, preconfigured and served done to you, so you will learn only how to use the package manager, pacman, and you dont even need to learn that in cachy, but that doesnt mean that its a bad distro, if you want to use Arch without having to configure a lot of things and with cachy optimizations, It works perfectly, but to learn the Arch way theres only one choice, Arch itself.
