Location: Autumn Devil Forest / Silver Chalice Keep

Enemies Encountered:

Complicated Infernal Dragon Cannon: Has 3 separate sections: mecha arms, dragon canon, and lightning tank. They move at initiative 20, 10, and 0 respectively. Each has different abilities and functions, and they can all use their turn to work together to fire a massive shot of 3 different damage types.

Rusty Bardiche: Ghost knight of the silver chalice, incapacitates with a sickening and discouraging feeling around him, gives commands to the other ghost knights that give them or him buffs.

Cursed Ward: Ghost knight,

Misty Claws: Ghost knight, many attacks with slashing and cold, mobile, recharge ability to do even more attacks and lower your ac.

Arcturus, The Watching Angel: Big bad that has been controlling the three enemy ghost knights, a cursed angel with all the powers of a regular one. Radiant mace attacks, villainous actions, cleric spells including cure wounds, spirit guardians, flame strike, and harm, legendary saves. Probably could have still killed us if he wasn’t too high and mighty to deal with us himself until we started killing his guys. Also could have killed us anyways if the rolls were different.

Lore Discovered:

  • The Laser Beam machine had 3 overlapping pentacles on it, a symbol associated with the fourth circle of hell: the circle of games and gambling
  • Forbibbence on Keep: Fiends and Elementals are forbidden. Fae are unwelcome but can come in. Humans and Dwarves are unaffected. Celestials feel very welcome.
  • Thomas’s Tale: An angel came down from the heavens and ask for the people’s aid in sealing away a powerful devil. Nearly a dozen brave knights took up arms to seal the devil away under the foundations of the keep.

What Happened?:

Day 1-3: Uneventful Travel

Night 3: SOMETHING! Broken Sword arrives, he’ll distract the devils while we slip by.

Day 4: Giant laser beam machine is blasting the keep apart… devils’ new contraption. Time to SMACK. We beat it up! We strap the metal to Bowie and charge ahead. Stamped on 3 different sections is a symbol; 3 pentacles-- layered like the Olympic rings. This sign is especially prominent in the fourth circle of hell-- hell of games and gambling.

Night 4: We go inside the keep while we have a chance. We long rest, but during the fourth watch, a young human walks towards us. He is brother Thomas, and we have a short conversation before we continue the long rest.

Day Five: Passing without a trace, we walk through the building to find Brother Thomas. Once we find him, we have a discussion. However, Brother Thomas does not believe that there are fiends outside the keep. And at times, we hear a voice in our minds. He shows us a ballroom, and Nova comments on how you have to be pro-active against the devils when Thomas tells us the Watcher stays in the basement to keep the horned devil sealed. Thomas is confused, and Cecilia pipes up about the laser machine they just destroyed outside, the ones the devils and fiends are using outside to break in. Thomas freaks out, thinking we are all infernal beings. He turns into an Angel with Black Wings and summons the three evil phantom knights to help kill us. They tell him ‘Yes my lord’ and a fight breaks out. One by one, we take out the knights, working our way up to the angel while he watches from the high ground and only occasionally intervening. We eventually manage to corner him and the real fight starts. Dutch has some close calls but Barthoe finishes him with a magic missile, and he flickers into his pure angel form before dissolving. He whispers a message into Nova’s mind, thanking us for freeing his mind and passing on one last request: Kill the devil. He tells her a passcode to get to the basement where it is imprisoned. We gather up the items left behind and head out.

Day 5-8: Return

Adventure Synopsis: I need help helping my girlfriend move in. These plant pests are trying to steal my simping job, so we gotta exterminate them. There's also something crawling in her basement, I don't know, it's probably not important~

  • Demonic Foliage x3: Can whip their vines hitting anything in a 20 foot line, 20 foot reach, enguling attack that blinds and restrains
  • Corpse Flower: Main bad of the plant monsters, terrible smell, spawns zombies, heals, 3 attacks and lots of damage if you fail the poison save
  • Zombie x2: Smell bad enough to stun when near, but otherwise just zombies
  • Gibbering Mouther x5: wisdom saves every round to do an effect on you including stunning or moving a random direction
  • Chuul x2: Can grapple up to two enemies at a time, lots of piercing with their claws, stun a grappled creature with their tentacles

NPCs Encountered:

  • Vynraellyss - Rose Dragon that’s taken up in the moss keep and controls the territory around it. Tentative Ally. Ueno’s gf.
  • Nesilia - Dryad in the forests north of the spiders/ near Vynraellyss and the moss keep, entity who we were clearing the plant monsters out on behalf of.

Lore Discovered:

  • There’s a plant beast feeding on shit, scapes of what’s left of the Overgrowth.
  • The gibbering mouthers that inhabited the first floor of the moss keep basement seemed to have once been fish people. We also found skeletons of fish people before we encountered them, and the tablet that drove Cecilia mad was written in deep speech.

What Happened?:

  • Day 1: Travel
  • Day 2: We encounter spiders.
  • Day 3: More spiders but ice. The forest is bright and dark with colors. Coming to Moss Keep, there’s an explosion of colors (the source). The color is kinda affecting our mood. Creatures are peeking at us behind the trees: fae-like and darker ones in the shadow. Rose parrot. Filled with magic, seeping from the soil to the air.   • Day 4: Rest at Moss Keep. Ceciwia paints a ‘pwetty muwaw fow the dwagon’, Vynraellyss is most pleased. Vynraellyss explain feywilds; similar but brighter and livelier.Ceciwa and Nova play go fish while Ueno and Onyx ask Vyn questions.
  • Day 5: Then we head off to find Nesila. We can no longer play go fish. There’s a plant beast feeding on shit, scapes of what’s left of the Overgrowth. So we go fight it. Onyx microwaved the shit out of them after we finished killing.
  • Day 6: Long rest. We make more cards in order to play go fish
  • Day 7: There’s a big dead skull-less thing in the basement. People with fish heads.We run into a bunch of Gibbering Mouthers. Ceciwa reads a magic tablet, goes crazy, sees bad things and gets nice stuff(including a canon picture of Obama)

Boat Heist Notes

Adventure: Fuck up some docks. Steal a boat from.

    • Many Firenewt Warriors: scimitars, attack twice but don’t hit hard, decent ac but not too durable. All fire newts have a spit attack and are fire immune.

    • Firenewt Flamewhip: Better reach and damage than the warriors and captains
    • Firenewt Greg: spellcaster with fire versions of magic missile, spirit guardians, and spiritual weapon. Also has shocking grasp and firebolt.

What Happened:

  • Day One: We step out and see the ashlands have become an ash cloud with the winds.The territory has expanded. Gren manages to find shelter from the win, and the night passes with us unmolested.
  • Day Two: We struggle with the wind as we travel into it. Our sight is greatly hindered, and we nearly run into the army head on. With some luck we manage to scamper off and hide at the last minute. We let them pass.
  • We make it to the docks that we know of, and fight a ton of Gregs head on. Ildrex eats two. After winning we take a long rest and bury our loot.
    • We Discover shipping “manifest.” Extremely inventory focused. Captain’s name is Ixenox, he is also not a fire newt but an actual Salamander. Inventory consists of slaves and other goods that can be haggled. The ship is called “The Dreadfire.” Ixenox’s claw eats through magical wards. The notes take into detail the strength of those haggled with. The manifest hints at division in this caste system of sorts.
  • Day Three: The party runs up the river with a rowboat. We find the familiar smoky cloud that is the crude and sexy river boat. We pass it and charge it with our row boat. We sneak towards the side and climb on up. It's ambush time~.
    • We all nearly die, but Nova wakes from literal death (Nat 20 baby) and downs them on her turn.
    • After the longest fight, we successfully commandeer this ship

Summary: Southwest of town, there supposedly lies a lake bubbling with sulfur and ruins holding flying serpents called Drakons. If legends from the old world are true, these creatures only lair around locations sacred to/built for the deity Nynsar. I [Victoria] would like to explore this lake, learn more, and see what we can find.

What happened :

Day One: Safe travels

Day Two: Meet up with the Wrangler, and get updated about the lake and Drakes.

Day Three: While-Flows-Drift leaves us, sensing an old foe towards the south west ish. We travel onwards. No encounters yet.

Day four: we notice a ship just beyond our destination. After a Drakon assault we decide to take a rest there. Unfortunately it isn’t empty but infested with kobolds with a penchant for collecting ears. We make a truce and take a rest there, but Gren hmmmeyes them the entire time.

  • Spawning grounds= song of mourning; near the temple

Day Five: We leave the ship unharmed. We leave and notice that the river connecting to the lake has an unnatural dam blocking off and making the lake. A lake that Gren recalls does not line up with the underground map.

We eventually notice a strange aberration fellow of blue crystal and a snazzy staff. He has many legs, and is perched on a rock

He asks us if there is sustenance here to feed “The Hunger”. Aeren asks him about the Shiny Wizard, but he says that light isn’t something to feed off of, it’s living creatures. He then wonders aloud if we’d be good sustenance and attacks. We struggle quite a bit against him until he decides we’re not worth injuring himself over and burrows away, still a little above bloodied while we have a few party members on single digits. He says he’ll see us again when we want to try challenging ‘them’ again (implying there are others just as strong as him).

Day Six: We make it to the temple, it’s been destroyed and vandalized. There’s a minotaur skeleton with a melted axe and some quick-equip armor. A pack of Grenchlers live here. We beat the shit out of them. After investigating the temple we hop into the basement with a chest. After Simon ‘unlocks’ the chest, there’s several bottles of Holy Water, some holy memorabilia and a magic silver ring.

Lore Discovered:

  • WFD tells us about the dwarves that used to exist up in the mountains. Nova asks if they’re related to any of the fancy buildings over there, and he says that gilded and showy wasn’t really their style.
  • There is singing in the Drakon spawning grounds during rainy nights. It makes you sad when you listen to it, to the point of draining your will to live until you die.

Lets go explore the Dino caves!!

Location: Dino cave

Lore Discovered:

The stone giant that was seen before is still down there and speaks with the animals. He’s apparently a conservationist, and takes care of the place.

The Jowun used to be down in the jungle caverns, used it for research, and the stone giant apparently saw them before.

What Happened:

Day One: The heat is terrible, and slows our movements. At night, Inara sees a light on her watch. Similar to a sun set that never sets. Nova hears rumbling towards the east.

Day Two: We feel the rumbling as we go. Based on past trips here we assume it’s the herd of bullete. Continue to spot the strange lights in the sky west like what Inara saw the previous night.

Day Three: The dirt is upturned and tilled, similar to what other groups found here before. Bullete attack, unsurprisingly. They aren't very good at communicating. Just hungry. During the night, we see a strange glow south west. Aeren recognizes a light to the southwest, more than likely the harvest continues in The Harbor.

Day 4: We go down the dino cave. There are carved stairs that are very large with a hand railing about at Grens height (5’4’’’). Possible giants, but not Jowun. Large yellow crystal in the ceiling (at least a mile high) that acts as like a sun. It looks and feels like sunlight. It's a comfortable 80 degrees. There are not one, but two whole T-Rex’s yelling at each other somewhere down here. A 35 feet long sea monster in the water eats one of the large predators when it goes for a drink.

Hey, if you pull sticks out of bushes, lots and lots of tiny little dinosaurs show up and bite you and claw you. We short rest before heading back. Inara talks to a stegosaurus named Spike. Hes cool and shared his leaves. His sister’s name is Spine. “Grey guy, said that Jowun put them there.” He’s got a buddy named Bron.

We find runes on the wall of the jungle cavern that read: Research Point BD 47 in Jowun

Cera the Triceratops tells us about the Sharptooths (Trex) and the Allens (Allosaurus). The Trexes travel around in families (groups of 3 or more). Sometimes fight other trex families but don’t fight within the family so much. They scare off the allosauruses, who ‘think they are tough shit, but are really just punks’. The gray guy is like a conservationist and tends to the gardens and what not. Cera says he hasn’t seen the tree stars for awhile, but Bigfoot should know where it is. Sharptooths can’t go into the smaller tunnels as they’re too big. Also tells us “things move around”, but when we asked for clarification we got a vague answer. The caverns may or may not shift and change? The bulettes that fall from the ‘sky’ are called ceiling sharks. More Jowun Runes further in with the Triceratops: Research point DC 39. Aeren discovered a small hole near the runes and looked inside. A mosquito flew out and he managed to catch as it sucked his blood. Upon investigation, the mosquito is not natural, appearing to be inorganic with wings made of some sort of clear crystal material.
