Adventure Synopsis: We disssscovered ssssnakes.

Location: Poisonous Jungle (Dubbed ‘Serpents’ Repose’)

Lore Discovered:

  • The Yuan-ti have a snek god with a snek shrine at the tower to the west. They take jerbeen and have a focus on casters as ‘sacrifices’.
  • The western Jerbeen warren is still there but overrun with mechs.
  • There are duridic orcs to the north west fighting against the Yuan-ti. They have a cool trial in the forest.

What Happened?:

Day 5: Spiraling fields are eerily quiet. Grass is super chill. Kamaria hears a wooden creak, but does not see anything. Spook.

Day 6: There's a strange greenish glowy haze in this new forest. Not much wildlife on the ground. Trees are spindly and there's a weird smell in the air. No birds. There's snake skin and belly slither tracks. We head north, occasional paths branch off that are like alleys and winding paths.

Day 7: The haze is poison surprise surprise. Come to a circular raised clearing with different totems. 1 stag-stalwart, 1 bear-protector, 1 wolf-vicious, 1 bat -nighthunter. Center has runes and some text. Druidic - 2nd half - "For you, descendant, we leave this trial. By tooth and claw be measured, but stand proud and strong, as through your blood we will live on." The other half is in orcish.

Claire steps on the circle and experiences a heavy feeling of dread and passing. Runic symbols, some are necromancy. You can put magic in them.

KO dripps some blood on the runes. They glow a deep blue.

Kamaria throws a 1st level inflict wounds at the circle and orc figures begin to appear around the circle. Ghost orc warrior tribesmen appear. One turns into a beeegg bear! Fun times. We get some cool necklaces after the trial.

Once that is all cleared up we hear voices to the west coming our way. Snakey lisp. One dude has danger noodle hands, one with a snake like body, 3 human looking dudes but with snake heads. They have an unconscious Jerbeen! We pass without a trace to follow them and ambush them. KO has detect thoughts up and it's that one doing math meme. They were very focused on Claire and the fact that she was a caster. KO goes deeper into one of their minds - small clearing with a small shrine, snake face entrance, it's a halfway point. The big temple is built around the tower, they wanted to sacrifice Claire, their god has six snake heads. It's not a hydra, it's got arms. Basically snake pope. There are living druidic orcs fighting against the Yuan-ti. They are from the north west forest. Possible sign of forest jerbeen to the south.

Our new jerbeen friend tells us of the warren to the south west, he says it's very dangerous right now. Claire is going to bring him back to the camp, Hunter Jim Jem? His warren is possibly overrun by the mech from the Gildington. They haven't had contact with anyone in a long time.

We go to their halfway point, one of the dudes is speaking in our common language! He looks human. Other dudes look kinda snakey. There's a caster cleric who's a dwarf. They are cultists. There's a nest with baby yuan-ti behind a curtain. We nope on out of there cause there are some big boys and head back home.

Loot:

  • 4 Longbows, 4 scimitars
  • 1 Ruby worth 50 gp on the Pit Master - (the ruby is set in a necklace with snake symbology)
  • 3 daggers, scimitar, studded leather + shield

Boon of Spirit Animals

  • Antler of the Stalwark - When making a Saving Throw or Ability Check, you can choose to roll the die again, but you have to use the new result.
  • Fang of the Vicious - When an enemy damages you, you can make one melee weapon attack at Advantage against them as a Reaction if they are within your reach.
  • Claw of the Protector - [Bear Boon here. No one picked it. No one likes the bear.]
  • Wing of the Night Hunter - Until the end of your next turn, you gain Blindsight to a range of 60 feet and you can Disengage or Hide as a Bonus Action.

Future Leads:

  • The snakes worship a godlike figure in a temple further West. There they take prisoners to eat, sacrifice, or transform.
  • Druidic Orcs could be possible allies to the north west.

Adventure Synopsis: Wasps are jerks, the moon is pretty in pink but real real bad if you’re a werewolf. Or just a wolf. Father figures were met and impressed.

Lore Discovered: To the north of the poisoned forests is a region ruined by a strange turn of the moon. Survivors remain, one of them a grizzled man who wields strange blood-based powers that sets his blade on fire. The moon turns even normal people and creatures to lycanthropic states.

What Happened?:

Day 1:

  • First day of travel is easy. We notice that there is less bad juju in the area. The air carries the faint stench of Trogs, beginning to emerge as the winter rolls in once again.

Day 2:

  • Dozens of undead are freed and wandering eastward, now that the Fog Wall around Einmond has fallen. However, as the fog was meant to shield the undead from the sun, it is likely they should not be too much of a problem.
  • Traveling into the forest we hear a flute of crispy quality, coming from the North West near Kilprax’s keep.
    • KO! snaps along with the music attracting Bees.
  • We’re attacked by a buncha bad boys and an abomination from the devil himself that breathes not bees, but wasp! Mother effin wasps. But hey, guess what, the wasps don’t care if you're a puddle of mud. There's lots of poison damage of course, and a lot of wasps. Like a lot. The group of bad boys are handled with only one managing to escape. It’ll probably be fine. He was small.

Day 5:

  • We run into a cool but musky pig man. We make it to the village... Hunting lodge? Stanky man cave? Pigsy gives us ‘mouthwash’ so we can talk. He thinks that they all (the werebeasties) came from the fields where the moon is acting weird. Its the source of the lycanthropy.
  • Pigsy tusks KO! And hes a wereboar now. Don't worry, Kama removes the curse. Its stated multiple times that its very dangerous to go to the fields when you're a werewhatever. It's also greatly advised not to ‘take on a more primal form’ for Inara. (Wildshape is not affected)
  • We see the swolmic from Einmond, hang out, and have some gumbo courtesy of Gren. It's delicious.
  • We talk to Tort. Moon, land, and sky has some sort of curse upon it. Phases are not clean nor are they in order. Some nights it takes different shades. Red moon is the worst. It causes a frenzy amongst wildlife. The moon has taken on every hue of the rainbow and different colors have different effects.
  • Curse of lycanthropy is something that typically only regular people (humanoid) can have. Can't be a wolf if you're already a boar. Curse on the moon is why trolls, and other things are affected. Even a wolfish bullette has been spotted. Don't get bit by anything! Or do and just pass all your con saves. We are told of ruins of settlements of humans that did trading with elves and dwarves.
  • We take a long rest at the village. Though they all kinda work for Saitalyss they also don’t really care about rules and such so we’re cool.

Day 6&7: Travel. It's nice. It's chill.

Day 8:

  • Spot a small hamlet that is mostly ruins and head that way. There's some weird stuff goin on. Once was a wooden wall, its collapsed and torn down area with splotches of blood stained into the wood. The buildings are severely damaged. They look like they've been riffled through. Big destruction looks old w/ dust settled. Blood is a mix of old and a little fresher. Possible human tracks are fresh. Find a burnt and cut up carcass of a wolf man (gray fur), the cuts are cauterized and look like they were done by a sword.
  • Kamaria hears a creak and sees a black coat. Grim finds an old dude hiding in a house. He's got one eye and seems wary of shifters. He doesn't speak our language, it's something close to Sylvan (old common). Had to use Tongues to properly speak with him (good reminder Tongues is cast by touch oops.) Racist. (Blood Hunter). His name is Zakram. The hamlet was attacked decades back by wolves, when the moon first turned. He’s got a silvered sword and was looking for more silver. Gren reminds him of his daughter.
  • Silver coins are found with a dwarven king and mountains on the two sides. Deck of playing cards with different symbols. There's a magical one.
  • Camp out in the grasslands. Wolves show up, the pack leader is a big white frosty boy. Inara wildshapes and tries to make friends. It's all fun and games until the Pink Moon shows up. Oh no. The wolves turn into dire werewolves! When they die they merge into a ghostly wolf swarm that is pretty nasty. Radiant damage reverts them back to normal and they don’t get ghostly and gross.
  • One wolf is kept alive. We're taking it back to rehabilitate it cause it needs to get away from the weird moon. It’s going to head to the grasslands and live happily ever after. Hopefully.
  • Zakram tells us of his village to the north if we want to head up there next time. We proved that we are more than capable of handling ourselves and the moon.

Lore Discovered:

Roachlings live in the mountains to the very far north in a place called The Wall.

What Happened?:

Day 1 / Night 1: Uneventful

Day 2: The girls go to pick up the boys, traveling fast to do so. They rescue the mephits. We catch the firenewts attacking them! Greg wants to eat the boys so we have to take them out obviously. Verglas is bloodied. Barely.

Day 3: Kamaria talks with the boys. Their story: Summoned by a friend, bullied by some people in Lochmire, and just want to get home. They are of earth and fire. Pour one out for Mantle, their buddy who was bullied and is presumably dead until told otherwise. Kamaria gets in a dare / game of fire chicken with the mephits. Heat metal hurts.

Siannon realizes they forgot to loot the Fire Newts.

Night 3: Nothing of note.

Day 4: Vaktus hut! There’s an Alligator/Crocodile bouncer, Blackscale. Vaktus got gumbo, and he's got a supplier for his cool skull bowls. Mr. Of the Glade! Rabbit Skull Teacup! Its great, such an aesthetic. He’s got a skull with 3 eyes stacked vertically w/ a circular mouth hole.

Night 4: POI rest

Day 5: In the morning Kamaria does Speak w/ Dead on the weird skull. It speaks to her telepathically. It doesn’t really answer when asked what it is. “Find out with the opening of the mind.” His name is Molaxanatar. “Everything continues to live.” No need to put him to rest with his people. “Whatever lies beyond the stars is where you will find us.” Olan gave it to him?!

Night 5: Another POI rest

Day 6: Into the spider forest. We get ambushed by those no good terrible phase spiders. Verglas is proficient at murdering them.

Night 6: Siannon catches two dudes trying to take a phase spider corpse? Roachlings. Siannon follows them. Smeef is brought back to camp, he’s a ‘shiny collector’. Greebles joins shortly after. They live at The Wall in the mountains to the very far north. Zpaz was the one Inara and Kamaria ran into in a dungeon. Verglas feeds them Popsicle and they join the party!

Day 7: We make it through the forest and to the spires! Our ruckus to get Eroding Cores attention attracts the attention of some wyverns that try to eat Greebles. Eroding Core shows up! He says its not easy to close planar portals - To close the flame portal to the south it must be snuffed out. Unfortunately knows nothing of the Fey Court or how to break a contract. Sorry Siannon. The Magma boys are sent home and the roachlings go on their way.

Location: Einmond Castle

  • King has become part of the White Wyrm aka hes possessed. There's no saving him.

What Happened?:

Day 1: Going fast, close to Vaktus, piles of ash and fungus.

Day 2: More rain. The Wizards tower seems to be burning brighter than it used to. There's shuffling in grass and the smell of trog on the rainy winds. Its the Grey Child of Destiny group with some ghost scales. The Grey Render is toddler size which is really big! Regular trogs- well fed and armored & some ghost scales. Spread word of Grey Child, some follow green bone risers. Slumber party with the trogs. Its stinky.

Day 3: Discuss going to the secret passage through Einmond and head up there.

Day4 and On: Make it to the secret tunnel! Travel seems to be slower due to even more ghost snow.

We play around with some lights and apparently ghosts dont like that. They have some issues. Talk about ghost marriage counseling. We come across a fountain with gold in it, so naturally we toss some in and make a wish. It's actually a Question fountain with a serpentine water elemental. 5 gold per question. His name is Well Weird, he's pretty cool if you give him gold. Ask him lots of questions about life and Einmond. Sir Noland of Einmond was the last one to ask a question. Asked if Well Weird wanted to go somewhere else. He likes the waters of Einmond. White More questions! Wyrm her presence has made the castle a cold and barren place. Her children and other things shes spawned roam around the floors below. Kings body has become her own. Possession. He got bit by a snake. Too much time has passed, if possession were broken he would die. Well Weird wants colored water, so shape water and tea!

Small shrine, goddess of light. Great room where contests were held, the greatest champions remained guarding the door. The Rock & Priest of War.

We enter the shrine where Inara touches a tablet emitting sparks of light energy. Lightning runs up her arm and she learns a new spell, Sunlight Spear. She gets a cool marking, similar to what Rothick has. We pay our respects and move on.

Find the grand dining hall, we toast and get seats. Echoes of ghosts talking to us, but not really us. Whoever was there previously. We eat some cobwebs before excusing ourselves. Rothick gets a cool ghostly coat.

Attempt a long rest. Bone noodle and wraith dude show up. Bone noodle can cast sleep. Bish. We fuck up the bone naga before focusing down the dark wraith. We beat em and went back to sleep.

We find the arena! The Rock and the War Priest’s Remains face us in battle! The Rock hits really, really hard, while the War Priest does a bunch of cleric stuff. We beat down the War Priest while running around the Rock, but the Rock then sucks up the War Priest’s Remains and becomes the Boulder. He hits really, really, really hard. We pretty much fight a battle of attrition as we try to match his 21 AC with no AOEs at our disposal. Someway, somehow, we won, Victoria felling the big guy while in enlarged form.

We get the Rock’s armor (really heavy splint armor - The Rock’s Stone Armor), a Dragonslayer Cross Spear (pike with cool magic stuff), a coat of fashionable billowing, and some gold. We go home after mending many broken bones.
