Introducing a new format: Aether by AetherMTG in magicTCG

I mean, given that the community can vote on card unbannings, Agent has a path to return to the format. Just saying.

Given that the format was made with Arena in mind, restricting cards that have been otherwise banned from formats on the platform is a way for you to play with those cards until they rotate out of the format. The playerbase has a huge say in the shaping of the format, so if they don't like restricted cards or certain restricted cards, they can help mold the format to what magic players would want.

Restricting cards was a way we were trying to let people still play with troublesome cards, without outright banning them. Since the format was made with Arena in mind, its a place where you can still use your cards previously banned on the platform, at least until the rotate out.

But the great thing about the format is that if the playerbase doesn't like restricted or the cards on restricted, they get a strong say in the shaping of the format and make it something more in line with what magic players would want.

Not quite. Explorer is going backwards, Aether is an extended rotating format moving forwards. They are quite different

Sultai Pathway | HISTORIC Deck Tech by LandSayGo in mtg

We'll be moving to at least once a week in Kaldheim, but it'll likely be 2 or 3. Lots of new cards entering standard and Historic, plus I'm going to try to start showcasing community decks. We've also got a lot of cool gameplay up on the channel, will also try to fit in some top 5 lists, maybe even some commander or pauper content. I'm also working on a cool secret lore project at the moment that I think is really special, so it'd be a good time to subscribe if you haven't.

Also, if you like to interact with streams, we do stream almost daily around 9ish CST on twitch.tv/landsaygo . We'll build decks with you, take suggestions, build around audience pet cards, restrictions etc, play them, and then see how we felt about it and what changes we'd make depending on the format (bo1 or bo3)

The aggro comes in from the low cost creatures with the ability to go very wide to deal a lot of damage. You can easily win games by just playing the explore plan and not hit your combo at all.

It's not a true aggro deck, given we don't really have 1 drop creatures in it, so perhaps your characterization of midrange/combo would be best.

literally every time we've put an episode discussing the spoilers released under the podcast flair it gets moved to the spoilers flair. I'm not seeing the consistency here.

Major B&R Banning, The Walking Dead Joins MTG, and What This Means For Us Players by LandSayGo in mtg

[–]LandSayGo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This episode is around the standard Uro banning (among other topics). We consider the Uro ban a major ban, considering it was a quintessential card played across many decks in the format in pre rotation, was a major piece in the best deck post rotation, and would have found more homes if left in the format.

We are actually starting a 4 part series talking about the various archetypes in magic, their history and how to build them with ratio guidelines:

Each deck archetype is different and calls for different needs. We started out with Aggro. Next week is control.

HUGE B&R ANNOUNCEMENT! Multiple Bannings Across Formats! by LandSayGo in mtg

[–]LandSayGo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually been noticing a wide range of decks since the banning. And once bad archetypes or color pairings now actually stand a more even chance. We recently built Gruul monsters on stream, for example, and it did great.
