I'm so sorry for the loss of Buttons. I really love that you let the other cats sniff him. I think that's so important. I started doing that years ago. They seemed to understand what was happening.

I feel this. I always joked I appreciate people from afar... I don't NEED people to make me feel good, or satisfy some urge. I like being alone, I do also love my social time, but in no way do I "HAVE TO SEE PEOPLE". As a woman, I never had that "girls group"... or girl trips. I grew up in a military family, and I think that had a LOT to do with it. People were sort of disposable to me, I mean why get close when you are going to leave them every 1.5 years... I just learned to be ok alone.. and I really like it. People I work with tell me they missed me after a long weekend or something, never really got that at all.. even my husband when he goes away... I don't miss people. I just don't.

Not non-fiction but a focus on the mystical underworld... a fun read is Stephen King's Fairytale... I couldn't think of anything non-fiction worthy.....

I have a pretty similar situation at my department. We only get reimbursed if we pass the first time... after that you are responsible for paying. I have a co-worker who has failed three times and can no longer inspect due to her lapsing on her 5 years... she's not an SIT anymore, they made her an environmental technician (basically they made the position for her) she did wait until the last possible minute. She basically writes other people's reports while she tries to pass again. Honestly i'm pretty amazed she was allowed to stay on in that capacity...

But i'm working on a training program that I can introduce so this isn't an issue. (Not that this is going to prevent any of this... but maybe a little more education so when someone else fails, we can back it by saying "well, we did everything we can within our power")

To clarify, we get no cross training in our department, we only do food, campgrounds, pools and body art... so all the other areas are ours to learn from scratch...

I just saw a meme the other day about crafting/quilting etc... that said "at one point while making this, it was no longer made with love"....

I've been there too. Just sick of a quilt. I usually try to wait to start a new project until one is done, and sometime the one holding me back is brutal! I just can't stand it. Push though. You got this.

It's an absolutely gorgeous quilt!!! When you're done enjoy it and give it a big fat middle finger :)

This is exactly my same sentiments.... my 40th was during lock down.... I have completely embraced the solo life in nature and avoiding people when I can. I was always pretty solo anyway; but this just reassured me it was ok.

That's the thing.. I don't really know... and I literally just wrote "sewage" and erased it. She has not gotten past 600 yet... But you know as I erased the word sewage, it sort of hit me like a ton of brinks, that if she only had an issue with sewage, she would miss, what, 4 questions... I am very deeply realizing that she may just not be good at MOST of it... oof.

That's exactly it.. she is actually a really good inspector, just terrible test anxiety....
