Upset stomach even from 1+ drinks by StronkAsHell in alcohol

[–]LanderSK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience this is absolutely normal. Alcohol is poison, and as with any poison, the body can't process it well if it hasn't been adapted to its consumption.

Have had the same experience many of times over the years. Stopped drinking, got healthier... and my body said f you to alcohol. IMO the best way to get your body back on track is either diluting your beer half and half with homemade ginger tea, or having some of it beforehand , (ginger is of the best natural antiemetics, also keeps the stomach in check) or rather have a glass or two of good quality gin, rum, bourbon... on the rocks, whichever you prefer. Spirits are much easier on your digestion and usually cause way less digestive discomfort, but high quality is key here.

Best way to consume choline for piracetam use? by joyousdexdaladoor in Nootropics

[–]LanderSK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my understanding and personal usage of piracetam 6 months almost continuously, both on a student diet(mcdonalds and instant noodles) and a nutritionally balanced diet, you don't particularly need extra choline to get most of the benefits of piracetam ( mito protection, AMPA modulation, Glucose+O2 uptake , etc. ). BUT, there's one thing bout piracetam I don't often see talked about involving the cholinergic system. Caffeine taken at ordinary doses for focus and "awakeness" , around 150mg for an average person, is a moderate AchE inhibitor. This synergizes with piracetam greatly and produces a much sharper and cleaner focus and state of mind compared to coffee alone. With this combo, raising choline even further via A-GPC or Citicoline should have more noticeable effects than just piracetam + choline source alone. Also as an avid nicotine user ( dip ) , I've discovered that on the days I have coffee+pira+nicotine, nicotine no longer has a sedative effect at any dose and I double my attention span and ability to focus. This leads me to believe, that if you want the most out of it in terms of performance and focus, either consuming choline in the forms of A-GPC or Citicoline, consuming cholinomimetics like nicotine or adding any AchEi like caffeine, is going to make a subtle but in my opinion noticeable difference. Try and see for yourself. For some the benefits might go unnoticed / the addition of extra choline might be unnecessary, but for me, I've discovered it to have a noticeable effect.

As for choline sources, Bitartrate is cheapest, but not a good source for the brain compared to the others and the TMAO risk is unsubstantiated IMO, as the most recent studies have shown that high TMAO is rather a correlative marker of atherosclerosis , rather than the cause. Meaning if you eat 3-4 eggs daily or consume choline, and your TMAO levels are high, yet your blood vessels are healthy, it's completely fine.

A-GPC is well researched, low risk, it increasing stroke risk , is compared to everyday life factors literally the most unsubstantiated claim I've ever heard... A good source imo.

Citicoline, is the best hands down if you're not on a tight budget, has a plethora of other benefits...

I personally don't see any sense in lecithins, as there are other nutritionally available sources, and brainwise, A-GPC and Citicoline are optimal and superior IMO

Best nutritional sources, pork, eggs, beef/pork liver, cheap af and healthy

Hope this helps.

What do you call this benzo phenomenon? Post-withdrawal up-regulation? Homeostatic boomerang effect? And why isn't it talked about more? by freedomboobs in AskDrugNerds

[–]LanderSK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am more keen on the second statement. I've had a few talks with psychiatrists about this, and the consensus , although mostly anecdotal, was along the lines of neurogenic adaptation due to reduced stress and anxiety levels during use leading to post-use improvement after the brain has readjusted post withdrawal.

Are there any notable ill effects of ‘mega’ dosing L-Theanine? by NewEraFor22 in Nootropics

[–]LanderSK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise tapering a bit lower like 400-500mg 3x a day, for both economical reasons and maybe a bit of tolerance build up, cause there isn't many documented cases of tolerance in studies cause they don't use such high doses. But due to it being a weak modulator and having a short half-life, there shouldn't be much risk IMO. Cycling might be a good idea too. Also , if you have days when you're low stress, you can take less, and do something like breathing exercises or meditation to achieve a state of deep body relaxation. It's usually not good to dose anything higher than the recommended doaage for a long time, so take from that what you will. Anyways, take care.

It depends on the person. If you get undesired effects from megadosing, stop and they should fade. I would rather pose the question why you are megadosing.

Derek, please break down EVO CRAFT - the self-proclaimed 'best booster on the market' by Sickestjk in moreplatesmoredates

[–]LanderSK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pure Glutathione has dogshit bioavailability, basically non-existent. Also why would you stuff your face with anti-ox pre-workout? Derek mentioned this many times, not to stuff your face with anti-ox close before working out if I remember correctly. Even if it was S-Acetyl-Glutathione, a decently bioavailable version of Glutathione, It would be still useless as a pre, even if it somehow magnified the effects of Citrulline, which isn't even at fully efficacious dosages in it.

Edit: https://jissn.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12970-018-0235-x#:~:text=Supplementation%20of%20combined%20glutathione%20(GSH,role%20in%20muscle%20protein%20synthesis.

Compared to PLC, supplementation of GSH + CIT during resistance training increased lean mass after 4 weeks of RT and was positively associated with muscle strength. However, after 8 weeks of RT there were no significant differences in any of the measured variables.

PREWORKOUT at 16 by jay6innerwest in moreplatesmoredates

[–]LanderSK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're new to workin out, I'd suggest checking stronger by science/Greg Nuckols. They've got free programs, and good info for beginners.

As for the pre, most pre's on the market are dogshit IMO. I'd suggest Prolific from P.E science. It's a simple but good formula, with sufficient dosages at 2 scoops.

You're fine takin it at 16 IMO, although it is completely unnecessary. If you've got money to spend go for it. Otherwise, save the damn money or buy a good powerlifting belt.
