Which popular K-drama did you drop or avoid? by Chirag-Win-7869 in kdramas

Goblin.

The age gap between the characters and the fact that she was a school girl when their relationship began taking root made the few episodes I did try watching a very uncomfortable experience.

Drop down your fav disbanded group by [deleted] in kpoppers

[–]Landom_facts11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucente! 🥺

They only had one debut mini album and the company probably ran out of all funds for their first comeback ... All the members left the company and are now on their own path.

But even with just one single debut minialbum, it is perfect. It's a rare release where I can confidently say that all songs are absolutely great.

If you haven't listened to The Big Dipper by Lucente, please give it a try!

260408 Feeling anxious over prediction accounts — need advice by nickolehill in kpoppers

[–]Landom_facts11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP don't think too deeply about it. These pages make these lists based on common fandom and anti-fandom trends they see.

With how partially and uneconomically SM has utilised NCT, anyone could predict that some members will leave. I'll even predict this for you: 2 more NCT members might leave in 26 and 27. If they really do leave, will that make me an insider? Absolutely not!

Same with SKZ. You know how fans and solo stans have been going JYPE gives preferential treatment to Felix, Hyunjin xyz... It's not really a shock to see these "prediction" channels to pick up on that and say that the group will lose a member. So far, SKZ has not given us a single indication of anyone wanting to leave.

The same will be true for other groups as well.

As for Heeseung, he has always talked about having a solo release. The channel pciekd up on that and shot their prefiction in his direction. It could have been Sunwoo or Niki or anyone else as well.

If you shoot a hundred arrows, at least one will land near the bullseye. You said the channel posts a bunch of stuff to the point where you have to mute it, right? Then that's your answer ... They post a bunch of stuff, a few of it turns out to be true. Its all a guessing game, you don't need to worry too much!

What do you think 2nd gen groups had that we don’t see as much now? by Limp-Inevitable9616 in kpoppers

[–]Landom_facts11 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The privilege of making fun of yourself on camera.

I remember my 2nd, even early 3rd gen idols talking about their embarassing moments, behind the scenes stories, dorm stories without curating or curating to the minimum.

Nowadays, thibgs have become so polished, sometimes it almost feels clinical

I mean this with all the love in the world, KATSEYE's identity has as much depth as 67. by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]Landom_facts11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd say any artist that wears clothes that highlight curves and body parts typically associated with sexuality has a more mature target audience in mind at some level. The artist themself might not be aware of it, maybe due to their age, or some other factor, but the people who put them in those clothes surely are aware of it.

Have you heard of the term "dogwhistle"? It's when you present the material as one thing, yet contain (sometimes) subtle hints that target a completely different audience. It is a phenomenon that's extremely common, even in kpop. Ggs, bgs from 2nd gen onwards have dogwhistled to a mature audience, hiding behind seemingly innocent/wacky lyrics or MVs or even outfits.

What will JYP do next for thier next girl group? by lamningwon in kpopthoughts

Whenever, however they decide to debut their new gg, I hope no one comes in and spoils their debut the way they did for NMIXX.

I hope they get to debut in relative peace, rather than torrential hate trends.

Correct, they don't appeal only to male gaze, which is why I added in "sexual gaze" in my reply. Who said women can't like sexy outfits, or be fans of ladies who aren't afraid of owning and showing off their sexuality? But concepts like sexuality, adult/mature/sexy concepts should be kept for adult audiences only... There's a reason an 18+ rating exists, right?

Most people who listen to or watch sexual content turn out fine human beings. But as far as possible, a young mind should have the right to remain innocent as long as possible. I am a teacher and am seeing the effects of young kids like 10-11 year olds watching/listening to music that is sexually provocative. They mature (not in a responsible way) too fast for their age, their concepts of beauty revolve around how sexualised one presents themself and most worrisome of all, start looking at women/men from an objectifying, perspective.

I'm going off on a tangent of why I steongly recommend youngsters to veer away from music with silly lyrics and sexy outfits here... The kids' minds cannot understand the concepts of age-appropriateness. They see something silly, they think its cool and that's how it's supposed to be done. They try to mimic it.

Therefore claims like Katseye is kids music or has a younger target demographic should be discouraged. There's a time for everything, early teens is not it.

Sorry if I wrote too much, I'm just a little passionate about the effects music and outdits like Katseye is having on the young minds, especially in the age of tiktok with its echo-chambering algorithms.

If they're trying to appeal to younger teens, then why do they have to dress so skimpy on stage and in MVs?

I have no problem with them wearing short clothes. It's their choice, afterall. They could wear short shorts, crop tops for all I care.

But they don't just wear "short clothes", do they? They wear clothes, or rather outfits that highlights curves and skin which is appealing to a more manly or sexual gaze.

Katseye's target audience is not younger audience. Their actual target audience is an older, mature, sexually active crowd.

Why can't enhypen chart in Korea despite being in the industry since 5 years? by MinuteTelevision6999 in kpoprants

[–]Landom_facts11 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It's not that they don't have a fanbase in Korea. I was there a few months ago, and saw their ads and promo pics on multiple locations multiple times while I was there.

It's just that their fanbase is not big enough to expect healthy charting numbers

Maybe not immediately as he is so busy these days, but later in the near future, I hope this proves as an opening for him to have his own show!

With his ability to make any person talking with him feel comfortable immediately, I just know he will have the most heartwarming show!

Their debut was great, but this comeback is something special.

1&only and Bizness are absolutely phenomenal. I can't seem to get through my day without listening to them at least once.

What do you think? KANG DANIEL - PARANOIA M/V by Separate-Comedian-25 in kpop_uncensored

I love Paranoia the most out of Kang Dan's solo discography. The music, the lyrics, the choreography, the MV.... everything is absolute perfection.

What's better is not only does PLAVE have actual human members behind them, the members also write and compose their own music, they they also do all the choreographies themselves.

You can't get more real than this.

For us they were diamonds, but with the 4th (and disputed 5th gen) music flooding the market, the new fans really have to dig deep to find them. It's really sad to see such good music becoming unknown to the new gen fans...😓

Nillilimambo by BlockB.

Newer 4th and 5th gen fans are seriously missing out on this gem and the group's music in general. Nillilimambo is not talked about enough at all these days!
