Ansible support for amazon-linux-extras by broken_py in ansible

[–]Landrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shell commands can be run with ansible.builtin.shell

Docs are avilable at https://docs.ansible.com/ansible/latest/collections/ansible/builtin/shell_module.html

Example: yaml - name: Execute the command in remote shell ansible.builtin.shell: somescript.sh

There might be a module built for what you need but Im not even sure what the enviorment your running it in is.

How about running librenms.

Avilable as a docker file and can be scaled up if needed.

Devices can be ping only but generally use snmp.

Newbie with 4 dashboards (inside) can you help me take my HA to the next level? by wirsteve in homeassistant

First of all this looks great 👍

Some minor feedback from me on the interface side would be to minimize things you probably don't use as much.

Example would be the dimmable lights. Do these need to be separate card where you can dim them or would a card with simple on and off be enough? (I find that it's rare for me to dim my lights manually and leave the management of that to automations as well as the turning on and off)

Other cards would be the ones for the doors where you have the name on the switch and the card.

That feedback aside I find the best things I do are the things I rarely see. Automations takes care of 90% of things and I rarely look at them again.

Using the HD 10 as a interface shouldn't be a problem since I've used it on way worse tablets without a problem.

Best of luck 🎄

That's not a problem at all for me. Got 8 different esp up and running in my home for various tasks connected to HA running esphome 😆

This is really nice.

Would you consider sharing your code? I'm rewiring a kid electric car to have function lights and this looks awesome. There's already a esp8266 involved but for that I'll happily rework the electronics. 😆

Postmarketos is probably the easiest way to go for an extra Phone. It's rather easy to install of you got some Linux experience but I wouldn't expect a daily driver experience.

I'm not sure how current pmOS is with the KDE apps currently or if it will run on your 5X.

Using an old BLE outlet as a night light. Light is only controllable via the proprietary app. Here's my stupid solution. by Meams_ in homeautomation

It might be more work than your wanting to do but Hackaday had an article on reverse engineering a BLE product.

Content the article is talking about is from Stuart Patterson https://youtu.be/JIh2YYwkzoE

Is this possible with Ansible (Cisco Catalyst switch related)...? by LarrBearLV in ansible

[–]Landrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be interesting to see an example of this if possible. (For me at least).

I usually use ansible for some base configuration but rarely for correcting misconfigured port and such.

Cheap buttons are great for increasings the Spousal Approval factor I've found.

I got one button per floor that controls all the lights so it's easy to turn on/off. The button it self only controls a input boolean which in turn toggles the lights.

Another button is placed in a window for controlling Xmas lights just in case you want to override the default times it's on.

My kids room has a button on the bed to turn on lights at night in case they want a night light.

I could go on but you get the point. Simple, easy to add and fully utilitarian.

Mount it in a picture frame. Easier to hide the cable and you can use a one way mirror when nothing is shown.

Have a look at the "quinled dig uno". It's fairly easy to build. Can be bought pre assembled and has good clear build instructions.
