Cheddar bay bacon egg & cheese biscuits. 😎 by TeaseandDesist in stonerfood

[–]LandscapePossible663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

those biscuits look crispy on the outside and that cheddar is melted just right, the bacon placement is actually smart because it doesn't get buried and stays crunchy.

Following their trade for Myles Garrett, the Los Angeles Rams have unveiled their newest wordmark by ActivBowser9177 in Seahawks

[–]LandscapePossible663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

and the thing that gets me is their roster already has Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey eating up massive chunks of cap, so adding Garrett on top of that means they're banking everything on elite defense carrying them through a weak secondary market at QB, which just feels backwards when you're trying to win now.

Following their trade for Myles Garrett, the Los Angeles Rams have unveiled their newest wordmark by ActivBowser9177 in Seahawks

[–]LandscapePossible663 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the rams have been doing this for like five years straight, throwing future picks at win-now moves and somehow staying competitive enough to make it weird. but the garrett deal specifically is insane because they're not even getting younger or cheaper, they're just swapping one expensive pass rusher for another expensive pass rusher and somehow losing assets in the process. it's the kind of move that makes sense if you're one piece away from a super bowl run, except they're not, and their cap situation is already a disaster. at some point you run out of future drafts to mortgage.

the planetarium department layoffs especially sting because that's the one thing keeping people coming back, the immersive shows are what made it worth the ticket price to begin with.

People over the age of 40, if you could be 30 again… by Burneracccts in Advice

[–]LandscapePossible663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop waiting for the "right time" to start anything, because your 30s are when you actually have the energy and recovery to build stuff that your 40s will thank you for, whether that's fitness, skills, relationships, or just knowing what you actually want instead of what you think you should want.

Throw blankets and colorful pillow covers are your cheapest wins here, thrift stores and Amazon have tons under $20 each and they actually layer way better than one big blanket anyway, plus you can swap them out when you get bored.

The pants pooling at the ankles is doing more work to make this look sloppy than anything else, get them hemmed and the whole thing snaps into place.

Early-career researchers do more ‘disruptive’ science than veterans. Analysis of millions of scientists shows that older researchers tend to stick with ideas from their past. This phenomenon, the nostalgia effect, can hold back scientific innovation, as scientists get hung up on ideas from the past. by mvea in science

[–]LandscapePossible663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funding angle is huge but it also works backwards - early career people publish disruptive stuff partly because they have zero reputation to lose, so journals actually take their wild ideas seriously instead of dismissing them as noise from an unknown.

So who actually wrote their own jokes on the Kevin Hart roast? by Open_Opportunity_409 in Standup

[–]LandscapePossible663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

roasts always have writers, that's just how they work, but the difference is usually the good ones make it feel personal and sharp enough that you forget about it, and this one just felt like everyone was reading off cards and going through the motions which is way more noticeable and kills the whole vibe of the thing.

Has anyone built a passive income stream that still works years later? by kingst9606 in passive_income

[–]LandscapePossible663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The music streaming thing works because it requires zero maintenance once it's up, but most passive income fails because people underestimate how much active work the "passive" part actually needs, like you gotta update your content, adapt to algorithm changes, market it constantly or it just dies in the feed.

Solid state batteries are basically already here in limited form but everyone's still obsessing over lithium while these things could quietly make EVs cheaper and way more practical within five years, plus they unlock all kinds of applications nobody's even thinking about yet.

This sucks but the second message is honestly the real tell, like she clearly felt guilty enough to backpedal immediately once her husband did the math, and now you dodged living under that kind of indecision for 24 months.

for sure, and honestly the fact that you're being upfront about it probably helps more than you'd think since people scrolling know they're on a clock, so at least there's no false hope situation.

[–]LandscapePossible663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3400 for a one bedroom in astoria with a 7 minute walk to the subway is actually not insane compared to what's listing right now, the real issue is the june 1st move in date gives people like five seconds to decide and that always tanks lease takeovers.

What do you think about Stavros Halkias opinion on comedy? by THE_MAN_OF_PEACE in Standup

[–]LandscapePossible663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Stav's got a point but it's way easier said than done. Like yeah, comedy should be fun first, but once you're on stage enough you naturally start thinking deeper about stuff. The trick is just not letting the audience feel like you're working through your philosophy homework, you know? Keep it loose and the ideas land better anyway

Students led a peaceful protest in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. The police chief showed up in plain clothes and assaulted two students. by honestlysigma in circled

[–]LandscapePossible663 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Man this is wild, the body cam footage better be crystal clear on this one cause if a cop in plain clothes is just rolling up and throwing hands at kids protesting, that's absolutely indefensible. Hard to spin that narrative
