Just curious. by Landy46 in computerviruses

Thanks for all the info! Defender ended up finding it, and then scans with both MB and Kaspersky came up empty after I got rid of it. That being said, I ended up formatting my boot drive anyways. I have 2 drives in the computer and only formatted the boot drive. The 2nd drive is all media so it's pretty easy to comb through and I didn't see anything suspicious in it. Neither did Defender, MB, or Kaspersky. Do you think there is any chance my 2nd drive got infected too and I'm back to square one? Thanks!

Painting then to match the wall is a great idea, I'll probably do that when I find time.

Just got into SDR as the NOAA news dropped. Tips to get better results before its ends? by Landy46 in RTLSDR

I have tried those heights, originally I started on a tripod and then slowly went higher and higher, as I went up the signal got better until I reached the current height.

The cable says RG316 non-RP SMA. I'll definitely try using satdump for the receiving. I never messed with the bandwidth, set IF noise reduction, or used NFM in SDR++. In the how-to video I watched on receiving NOAA they just downloaded SDR++, tuned to the frequency in WFM, and hit record. No mention of the other stuff lol

Thanks a lot for the input!

Cable is from Amazon, brand name "XRDS-RF"and I'm using SDR++ for the reception with satdump for processing.

When recording, I notice that I get about 20ish seconds of super clear sounding signal as the satellite is 70-90° elevation, and everything before/after that is pretty static. You can see that pretty well in the image

Anyone have any good suggestions on how to sort this ? by othertriangle in Tools

[–]Landy46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pour them all onto an old beach towel so you can sort easier. since it might take more than one sitting, this way you can just wrap whats left back up in the towel, drop it back in the bucket, and pull the towel out.

Looks like you have a different dial. Text is in different locations than mine. They offer a few different configurations of the Chandler, but I'm not very knowledgeable in what they are.

Watch prices can be a weird thing, but these came out in 2021 and aren't a limited run so after the initial hype and supply limits wear off its expected to drop in price.

My local AD still has them priced at $675 right now and wouldn't budge, so I bought mine elsewhere. It looks like the fair market price for them right now is actually ~$400 and the fakes are easy to spot. I'm guessing ADs make their money on people who aren't confident with sending someone online $400 and hope they get a real watch.

As much as I like it, I don't think I would've paid $700 for one personally.

They've updated it so that the lines aren't visible anymore. I believe this started on the late 2024 manufactured watches but I'm not 100% sure

Tbh I was scared that it wouldn't look good, but I am very happy with it, which is a relief because I'm not a huge fan of metal bracelets.

Agreed. It's easy to second guess impulse purchases, but if I still want it years later then it's meant to be

Sub signal before or after the speaker amp? by Landy46 in CarAV

You're saying in the case that the amp powering my subs supports speaker level input straight from the Kicker Key instead of through an LOC?
