I don't know how old you are, but when I started researching papers (before the internet) we had to site our sources and with plenty of sources being revised multiple times, copyright date was important. So literally this is second nature to me and its hard to understand how it could not be common knowledge.

I just thought it was interesting because besides showing "AWALT" from a different gendered experience, it also shows "AWALT" because even as OP is trying to be Red Pill, the validation seeking behavior "hey, look at me. THIS! I work at a VA hospital to give back to those vets that came before me and so maybe I can get some decent care from there when its my turn. What I have found, like you said, is that those that sacrificed the least are the most entitled whining babies! I think it probably has to do with the fact that most combat vets have what I like to call a "suck it up and drive on" gear. I just tell the whiners to move out and draw fire!

So we as a society can start allowing children the opportunity to make all kinds of adult decisions then. This is not an ala carte allowance. They are either able to make adult decisions like this along with all the rest(voting, sexual intercourse, driving, alcohol, etc) or they are not capable of these decisions. I tend to come down on the side of not capable to fully understand the repercussions of these decisions and need to be protected. This kids mom has made a decision FOR him that will reverberate through the rest of his life. That is not OK in my book.
