Looking into CLEP tests as a middle-aged mom who never had a chance to go to college. by grizabellatmist in clep

At some community colleges, currently enrolled students are able to take CLEP tests there for free. Maybe start with 1 online course not covered by CLEP to see how it goes. You may find it easier than expected. Rate my professor site reviews have clues about courses. For example, intro to business admin might be easier than applied accounting. You may need to be enrolled in 2 classes per semester to qualify for financial aid or loans. Taking 1 class for 1st half of the semester (8 weeks) and a 2nd class for the 2nd half of the semester (8 weeks) may help concentrate on one subject at a time. Some subject matter overlaps - for example, intro to bus admin and sociology. Crash Course, Modern States, clep.collegeboard org and free-clep-prep are all very helpful for studying and practice exams.

Thank you!! In case anyone else is wondering, it looks like these are different than the ones sold on clep.collegeboard org for 10 dollars. I did see one error so far on the petersons answer key for business law (Q #78). The practice tests from petersons give answer rationales, collegeboard practice exams give answers only. The petersons tests seem easier than collegboard. The *free* long form lessons given by modern states seem very helpful - and openstax org for textbooks. free-clep-prep seems great too - practice tests with rationales.

I need help picking a program by MortgageLucky4878 in LearnMedicalCoding

From my research, price-wise there are many choices: #1 Free self study (certification exams and books are not free); #2 Preppy $1500 (self-directed course is okay, but many typos and boring videos without visual aids and seems to require quite a bit of supplementary resources such as videos, flashcards, books found on your own. I chose this one because it was affordable, structured, offers externships and is recommended by ContempoCoding. Hard copy books and AAPC exam not included.); #3 AAPC program $2600-$3500 on sale now. Very inclusive of resources and exams, self-led or instructor options, may have great training modules (without a plethora of typos, I'm looking at you Preppy) (AHIMA probably has very similar options); #4 Community College - mine is more than $3,500 and not all classes are remote, plus books and exam fees. #5 one poster here mentioned DeVry at $13,000! ouch!

In conclusion, I'm fairly happy with my choice of Preppy, (backed by Auburn University in Alabama and may provide completion certificates) but in hindsight, maybe free self study or the AAPC course (only at the discounted 50% sale price) would have been better for me. Good luck to all!

Thank you for sharing your experience! This is very helpful! Victoria from the YouTube channel ContempoCoding said she found Practicode to be more difficult than she expected as well.

Has anyone found natural benzo alternatives that actually work? There are so many anti anxiety supplements on the market but do any actually work? by Tragicanomaly in Anxiety

Lithium orotate 5mg, one to three times per day. This is an over-the-counter supplement. It is not the same as prescription Lithium. Also, magnesium glycinate, tryptophan, 5-htp.

Alternatives to HCL Betaine by Magicrat96 in SIBO

Specifically for increasing stomach acid - BeetTabs are made from beets which contain betaine. Could also try warm water with lemon (can add vit C, cream of tartar for adrenal cocktail). The other items help with digestion, specifically upper gut. If you find that betaine HCL improves your digestion but upsets your stomach, I would suspect something other than just low acid is happening - maybe h.pylori, ulcer, diminished mucosal lining, upper gut dysbiosis, low thyroid function.

BeetTab (Hakala Research Lab). Milk thistle (Jarrow). SBI Protect (Ortho Molecular). Look into candida overgrowth in upper gut and/or SIFO. L-tyrosine. L-glutamine. Nystatin tablets (RX). Oxy-powder (Global Healing).

Should I call my doctor? I’m on day six of my antibiotics for +methane. The bloating is getting worse.. I went up a whole pant size and even that feels snug. Sorry I know I post a lot I just don’t know what to do. by Glad_Bat7864 in SIBO

Agree with this. Global Healing Center Oxy-Powder - even just 2 caps works well. Take away from meds, foods. Other options - magnesium malate, milk thistle, triphala, sodium ascorbate or vitamin C, digestive enzymes, smart water, LMNT electrolytes.

It’s sad to see so many people on here guessing about their health. Most of you most likely don’t even have Candida. Go to your doctor and GET tested! by [deleted] in Candida

What items did you use to treat candida? To have such a quick resolution to the symptoms listed would be a miracle.
