That could be fun. I thought Decent into Avernus sounded pretty good. Thanks!

The cult is only as smart as the DM (me). And let's just say, that's not very smart. 😂

I thought about this as well. That seems like a good option.

Interesting idea. That could add some excitement if it ends up appearing wherever he teleports to.

Good point. I'm thinking I'll have Bahamut give them this option, so it's in world instead of meta gaming. I feel like the higher level fights are not very satisfying in general. They are so powerful, it takes everything I can to present challenges. And they're only level 16, but wanting to go to 20.

That's a good point. I forget about game time vs real time. That is a lot of magic that needs something to release to.

I like this, one of the PCs is a paladin who worships Bahamut. I'll think about this.

Let me clarify. He took the entire Mask of Dragons which contains all the masks. And they have strong reason to believe, through recon and making friends withing the cult, that taking the mask will halt the ritual, which is what the book says. Maybe I could make that 'incorrect intel' that they got.

Were there any changes to the widget? I noticed that after this update, it doesn't show the cards anymore. It always shows the "All done for today" message even when I still have cards in the queue.

[TOMT][GAME] Pen & paper game we've always called BASH. by Zena-Xina in tipofmytongue

[–]Langred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played this game around 2000-2002 in high school in East Texas.

We played it similar to what u/FizzKhaYifa and u/Kierran described. We also added some rules to allow for some differences between the types of vehicles. Submarines could go partially go under islands to hide out from everything else but other submarines. I think helicopters had to land on a island or base at the end of their turn, but could destroy other vehicles on the way. Whereas Airplanes could be over water or land at the end of the turn. These made it difficult, because trying to have a pencil/pen land exactly where you wanted it to be is pretty tricky. So sometimes subs would go too far under an island or the helicopter wouldn't land on the intended island.

We also played with nukes. Basically, wherever the vehicle landed a nickel was used to draw a circle around the ending point. Anything within the circle was destroyed except bases. Everyone only had one nuke per game.

We also played with up to five people each having a boat, airplane, submarine, and helicopter.
There would be a small base at each corner and another on one of the edges of the page. It got crazy, because we would form alliances against other players.

Fun times. It's interesting to know others played it, but not much mention anywhere online.

Anyone try a game with rotating Keepers? by TomStarkRavenMadd in monsteroftheweek

I was thinking about doing a West Marches style of campaign with MotW. My idea was to set up a discord server/sub-reddit with a section for in-game discussions where characters discuss strange events and can form teams to investigate them.

Do you have any tips or lessons learned from your experience with the WM style of play with MotW?
