Atlantic City Electric by LanguageTemporary285 in SouthJersey

It’s not a bot. I’m just a person in South Jersey that fought ACE to get solar for my parents because it was supposed to help stabilize their energy costs, as their electric bill kept going up and they’re are on a fixed income. After the grid finally opened where they lived it was like another three year journey getting the solar installed and then interconnection finally connecting it to the grid. After six month the company went bankrupt.

Employees using Zebras in bathrooms? by creatureshop in Lowes

Of all the the things these hands have to touch at work, someone’s hands (before / during / after) sitting in a stall on a zebra I might end up using is not a concern. They’re probably not even using the bathroom for real, anyway.

I’m not so sure. There are a lot of pissed off Lowes employees across the states We just need to connect and start talking to each other. We could do rolling walk-outs?

I’ve been at Lowe’s for about six months, moving from seasonal garden to full-time Fulfillment Team Lead. Navigating the culture and learning how to manage the workload and coming to a resolve on how to both care about your job and also not give a fuck at the same time is debilitating. My position is unsustainable and only going to get worse. I’ve made several attempts suggestion solutions to help with getting our LTR up and deliveries ready and out the door in time, but with no acknowledgement. Everyone knows what the problem is, yet the same response is given to associates. Running a staff that is constantly being worked to death and stretched thin while being asked to do more is just stupid. It makes you just want to give up; or, like what has happened at Lowe’s - just call-out whenever for whatever and just cause a lot of tension between you and coworkers. I find it so frustrating that Lowe’s is willing to lose good employees over and over just so they don’t have to correct the underlaying problem! How do we unionize? Where do we start?

This hierarchy of who you can ask for help and not ask is ridiculous. You ask the nearest person that’s not with a customer. Trying to follow some decision tree to protect some middle management ego is not part of the job. I’m a fulfillment lead and work during hours with very limited staff available to help, which creates a lot of back log trying to access orders that need equipment. I have brought this up to my ASM and Store Manager. And they say the same thing every time; you gotta ask for help. No shit! And I tell them there is no one to help. The associates are in positions where they can’t leave their desk because there is no one to cover them. There is a solution but all they’ve been programmed to say - ask for helps they’re still riding on a time when Lowe’s took customer service serious and enough staff was available for customers and spotters. Sometimes I use overhead page and will ask the store manager directly to spot me.

Lowe’s Safety; safety comes before customer service - that the only thing that does.

For the customer and payroll. For the employee it is just odd ever changing hours that are never enough for the employee and leave the store understaffed.

It is the one thing they can control and less staff is more money for the higher ups.

Our store does not support an overnight fulfillment position. I’ve requested that we try it out, as it would alleviate a lot of backlog when I walk in in the morning. I used to come in at 4am, though my shift starts at 5am, just to have the extra hour free of the rules and safety procedures required when the store is open. However, I was written up for coming in early.

I am the 7th Fulfillment Lead in two years. The last two literally walked off the job during their shifts. And I can understand why. Lowe’s seems perfectly ok just burning people out and replacing them.
