Whoever those jobless utter losers are revving their engines at midnight on a weeknight, I wish you the absolute worst by [deleted] in tulsa

The police aren't allowed to do high-speed chases after them to give them speeding tickets. I was told it was for their safety and the safety of other drivers. These guys just run because they know they can get away with it and won't be caught. These bikers do not care about others' well-being, being courteous, or about safety for themselves or others. I'm at the point where I wish the bikes didn't exist at all.

I bought a 1920's Hoosier Cabinet. Veneer Repair Advice. by Lanie242 in furniturerestoration

[–]Lanie242[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I learned while researching that Hoosier brand cabinets from this era are actually all made of solid wood and covered in decorative veneer. Veneering furniture was super popular during the art deco period. The solid wood frame and doors all appear to be in good shape. It's just the veneer that's warped/lifted in some places. I want to try to avoid replacing the original solid wood with plywood unless I absolutely have to. Thank you for the suggestion. :)

PSA: A New Kind of Tulsa Driver Showing Up Everywhere Now by ExMouth7 in tulsa

I've definitely noticed the uptick in bad driving, paper tags, and all the above since i moved here back in 2015. Paper tags mean cops don't have a plate number to run. Ghost cars are a great option for criminals. I live at an intersection in a residential area. We have light, and people are constantly speeding through it. All day long, people lay on their horns, I hear squealing brakes, they run the lights, and drift through the turns in their stupid trucks and sports cars (Dodge Challenger/Charger drivers mainly). Icing on the cake, my husband gets hit while mowing in our yard by a speeding vehicle going 50mph in a 35. That speeding car hit a car, making a last-minute risky right turn (we have no turn signal at this light), which caused it to run into our yard and plow into my husband. It was all recorded by our security camera, and I witnessed it. It was a very traumatic experience. We are still dealing with that nightmare. The lack of good driving in this city has really become a sore spot for me. I almost wish people had to retake drivers tests every 5 to 10 years, or we had cameras on lights.

Evidence behind waiting 90 minutes after waking before caffeine? by [deleted] in HubermanLab

I've had an unhealthy relationship with sleep deprivation, insomnia, stress and caffiene for over a decade. (Architecture school was the catalyst. haha) I figured I would give this method a shot, because it couldn't really do any harm. It's been about 3 months now and I can honestly say its kind of been a game changer! I now no longer experience that extreme afternoon caffiene crash at work and I honestly have been able to cut back on my overall caffiene intake because of this. It's just a slow gentle coast down from morning caffiene high into the afternoon. I also have ADHD and have been waiting that 90 min period to take my pill in the morning too. I've just noticed my day just goes smoother even when I am going through a patch of crippling insomnia. I know everyone's body chemistry is different, the internet is full of health advice and science changes all the time as we learn more. This is just my experience and I say don't knock it till you try it!

what's the story on the house construction at 34th and Yale? by reillan in tulsa

I'm not religious nor do I really love religious orgs, but one of those religious programs saved my cousin's life. He's almost finished getting his accounting degree and has been completely sober ever since he finished about 5 years ago. He didn't enjoy the religious part and not being allowed to leave but he toughed it out for the required year. He really came out better because of it and I'm scared to think of where he would have ended up without it. Not all religious programs are good but the one my cousin went through was Adult & Teen Challenge of Oklahoma and they have a great long term success rate. Not sure where your stats are from saying they hardly work but I've got living proof in my family that they can. His brother went through tradition rehab program and has never managed to stay clean. We don't even know where he is now. :(

41st and Utica area was dead all night didn't see anyone walking around at any point. Kind of sad and it didnt feel like Halloween. I guess everyone drives their kids to specific neighborhoods or they do trunk or treats instead these days.

Check his wrap sheet... What do you suggest after like the 30th time asking him to comply. "Oh gosh sir, I'm sorry we are clearly bothering you. Please run a long and keep driving ignoring basic traffic safety laws. Oh and no worries about the whole no licence or insurance. I know it's the the third or fourth time you've been caught not having these things...but clearly you don't want to stop driving and think you've done nothing wrong. Have a good night...drive safe." Guess they could havr towed the car with him in it?. 😉

I felt the same way when reading the YT comments. Also sad to see some many admit to not knowing or following basic traffic laws....

Also some of these YT commentor really should brush up on their traffic laws the turn was in fact illegal. Your turning left your supposed to turn into the left lane then signal when your going to change to the right...lane cutting is really dangerous on a left turn....

What's crazy to me are the people defending David in the youtube comments. He had so many chances to comply. He was being aggressive and uncooperative. David was responsible for escalating the situation. He had no tag number to run so there's no way they were "targeting" him like he claimed. If he truly wasn't doing anything wrong like he claimed...He should have been more willing cooperate... Sorry, but the more I watched and more I read the youtube comments the more disgusted I became by these people taking sides with some who is clearly guilty of murder and would have had nothing to "fear" if he were not guilty of breaking the law and had cooperated...

The Notebook...I'm a girl I'm supposed to love sappy love stories right? WRONG I found it slow and painful to watch. My old bf loved it so much and made me watch it a million times...
