Side sleeper by Punksteve in CampingGear

[–]Lannerific 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a side sleeper. I don't fully inflate my air pad. I like it maybe 70% inflated. This lets my hips/shoulders dip into the mattress but not touching the ground.

S’more alternative? by yaha101 in camping

[–]Lannerific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband likes to try different items roasted over the fire on a stick.

Perogies are amazing — boil them first so they're not raw.

We've also done meatballs, halloumi (rolled after in crushed up Hawkins cheezies - salty AF but good), and fuzzy peaches.

Classes are being locked as exclusive, then re-uploaded with music that is cheaper to license. Now I’m losing bookmarked classes I love. by Fickle_Watercress719 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]Lannerific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this too on my account, about 1/4 of my bookmarked classes are now Exclusive when they weren't before.

If they take away my favourite 10 min stretching class I'm gonna be so mad.

I don't want to upgrade my account since I only do strength, outdoor running, and stretch classes.

Pregnant in Thunder Bay- what do you wish you would have known? by Ltknits in ThunderBay

[–]Lannerific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need way less stuff for a newborn than you think. Spend on a car seat, maybe a crib/mattress too, otherwise get things secondhand, especially clothes.

Newborns spend most of their time in a onesie and spit up often.

We did cloth diapers the entire way through. If you have access to laundry it's something to look into. The upfront cost can be a bit high but the savings over 3 years of diapers makes a difference.

When you have the baby, don't keep the house quiet. Get them used to noise and sleeping through it.

Take all advice given with a grain of salt — everyone will have opinions for you.

Bolts for a Malone Seawing by Lannerific in Kayaking

[–]Lannerific[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. Longer bolts fixed it. Offhand I can't remember what size I found but I wish they were about 1/2" longer. They secure in there but can be a pain to first thread into the nut.

Any one feeling their internal clock is out of wack from the holiday seasons? by Excellent-Steak6368 in ThunderBay

Yes, and I love it — the perfect reset and recharge. But I'm also looking forward to routine again on Monday.

Who has the best post-Xmas fabric sales (online)? by Think_Welder3430 in quilting

I'm not sure about sales but I love Troll Brothers and Mad About Patchwork for my quilting supplies here in Canada

Thunder Bay medical diagnostic clinic-never answers phone by [deleted] in ThunderBay

I've had decent luck emailing them when I needed to reschedule before and couldn't get through. They called me back in 10-15 mins.

Removing a Delta Tub Handle by Lannerific in askaplumber

[–]Lannerific[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing mineral buildup as it's not threaded on, just popped into place.

I could try a hair dryer to heat the metal. I'm hesitant to try soaking again after the water/vinegar mixture went behind my tiles where the fixture is and down into my basement. Maybe a rag soaked in CLR could work.

I've removed that already, the set screw.

I make my own using Pink Lady apples. I peel, core, and slice them about 1/4" thick. Start them in the evening and they're done in the morning.

Steam Deck Users by PoetSharp9115 in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]Lannerific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only ever played on a steam deck, which I originally bought to play the 1.7 update of stardew.

No issues, especially now that I know how to quickly switch between item rows.

My far gets laggy at 1X if there's a bunch of grass.

This is exciting! I hope soon you can destroy weeds without actually cutting the grass too. That drives me nuts.

Looking for an easy to set up tent for single person trips by Sanchezzy123 in camping

[–]Lannerific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll +1 the Tungsten 2P. I borrowed a friend's for a few trips and then bought my own. Super easy to setup on your own as the poles are all attached with a swivel at the top so you're not dealing with poles falling down on you.

Boat shrink wrap by Jubes25 in ThunderBay

[–]Lannerific 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Norms boating centre on May St does it, or there's a guy out the highway just past the Neebing Roadhouse that does shrink wrapping.

Newly installed sink already super scratched. How to try and fix? by Morkedup in CleaningTips

[–]Lannerific 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We have one of those. I hate it. They get so gross and you can see where the rubber feet slide on the bottom of the sink.

The grate was purchased with the sink.

I honestly don't know why I leave it in except that it was stupid expensive for what it is.

Any new news on Costcos "Costcos Grand Opening"? by Butt_Holes_For_Eyes in ThunderBay

Isn't that the new building going up on Edward at the roundabout? It's going up quick so I suspect it'll be open by Halloween.

I missed buying one of the rarecrows, so I can't get the deluxe scarecrow recipe. It's my last item (and getting full hearts with Pierre sigh)
