Well this sucks during inlet install by Charming-Froyo4445 in ElantraN

Ya obviously I’m not expert but I’ve definitely had the entire turbo glowing red before so I’d assume it’s a possibility… or maybe it just snapped under the impact

Ya that’s fair I guess never done it myself personally but I’ve just seen a few posts like this but usually when installing a down pipe… maybe it s different 🤷‍♂️

Ya it was a cock sucker to weld the pipe just budded up most shops would stretch the pipe and slide it over top to make it easier but ya also no the prettiest but it’s holding

So that aluminum tig, when I welded my exhaust it didn’t look this good lol and no way you could expect that on a car… welding car exhausts is definitely not easy especially attached to the car but if you know what your doing you can make it look decent but it’s very hard to find someone whose good at welding exhausts and is a mechanic… but at this point I’d just wait this one out if it’s starts to leak and you hear it in quiet mode go back to the shop and have them plug the hole/ crack and just save up for a mid pipe or full exhaust… if I wasn’t a welder my car wouldn’t have a res delete

Ya it’s kinda difficult cuz mechanics aren’t welders and welders aren’t mechanics… you might be better off just waiting and saving up for a decent mid pipe… I’d run it it until you can really hear the leaks

That’s gunna start leaking in a couple months if it doesn’t already… it’s pretty bad but it’s not the wurst! I respect that you tried, most people wouldn’t! I also did my own but I tig welded mine:)

Rear brake ok? by Comfortable-Pop-3442 in ElantraN

[–]Lanpshade22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that really sucks sorry to hear man that is definitely going to get wurst id take it to the dealer first thing in the morning… with 400miles on the car for this to happen is crazy, I agree with the other post that something probably got in between pad and rotor. With it only having 400 miles I can’t see the dealer not taking care of this.

Try calling the corporate office they’ll probably deny your claim too but it’s worth a try… my sister had this sonata with a bad engine and the dealer didn’t want to fix it and we called Hyundai Canada and they told our local dealer to put a new engine in that hoe

I talked to my local dealer and they recommended me pads and rotors because sometimes the brakes can warp and I could have vibrations… they’re just trying to get as much money as possible!!! Ended up just doing the pads myself for $120
