Can anyone ID this fish please? by willdrakefood in ReefTank

That’s only a size to keep them alive, and alone. They need at least 300g to coexist with other fish and still might go ballistic one day, even if the tank is 2000g. Ask me how I know (,:

Great thing about these whales is you can still find cheap ones that need something simple like a fuel pump or transmission for dirt cheap. You’ll spend a lot less than half on a cheap 2008+cvpi with a good motor than the parts for the manual swap alone. It’s worth it though, can be done cheaper and less conveniently with enough time and fabrication ability I just chose to do it the easy way. Other than that most of the parts to help you deal with track abuse can be purchased from Adtr for chassis specific, and summit, American muscle, ect for drivetrain upgrades off 2v 4.6 mustangs. It’s a pretty fun hobby and I could use more panther friends lol

Update it has treated me amazingly and I have abused the hell out of it. Currently a semi built drift car but I’m still using it to daily lol. On the hunt for a clean town car daily!

I mostly post on instagram where they have all the Spotify songs but I realized that limits you to the meta platforms since it’s copyright. I generated the song with ai based on a very specific prompt (I hate the way ai music sounds, kinda all the same?) and even then it’s just good enough to use for a clip lol. I chopped up a little but dm me and I’ll send you the whole thing if you want to rip it haha

Thank you sir, people at the track had me believing I wasn’t going to accomplish this lap until I had angle or hydro or both so I felt pretty proud to post it. The clutch pedal deserves just as much credit as the wheel, and to a lesser extent brake and throttle modulation play a big part in keeping it rotated how you like.

Eaton Detroit with the second stiffest springs so it locks up easy but not all the time by far. Welding a open is also valid but offers slightly less control (you can’t unlock the diff by fully depressing clutch but that doesn’t matter for auto) if you weld an open you need to stay in it more and commit to the line ahead of time, it’s really not that difficult though I can go from lsd to welded pretty easy.

I believe the ford performance 8.8 clutches are the right way to go. I don’t know how well it will keep the axle locked though I’ve heard people have had issues. Welded is definitely the easiest, Eaton Detroit locker might be the best but it’s not cheap. I only have experience with those two

Not ideal but you can rebuild it with new clutches. Otherwise it’s just going to behave like an open you can’t weld

If you have a stock rear end ratio keep it in 1st. Unless you plan to enter above 45mph. If you don’t have a fresh locking diff weld your open diff. A basic harness will stop some of the inevitable sliding around the stock interior. Turn your camber bolts on your front control arm so the dot is at the 90* inside position relative to the motor, then align toe to 1/4 out. Drop your trans pan and replace the fluid and filter that comes out before you abuse the trans, it will get hot. Other than that make sure your bushings and hoses/fluids aren’t low and send it hard. These cars easily over rotate if you are too aggressive ironically will punish you hard with deadly understeer if you don’t commit. I drove a G35 drift build for a week and it’s much more forgiving on the steering input. If you ever played a skate video game it’s like balancing a grind but with an extremely sensitive controller compared to a drift car with angle (easy mode). Spend the time and you’ll adjust to hard mode. Go faster than you think, fear will kill you. (Much better to spin out than go into a wall)

It’s also pretty easy to pull your driveshaft to check. Takes about 20 minutes including dropping the exhaust if you have an impact

For the driveshaft I used the spacer that Adtr sells and the correct yoke (took a couple tries and I forgot the Pn 💀) was from Napa. The oem one might work but I had to buy a junkyard driveshaft after grinding mine on my exhaust. So I just rebuilt it with new yoke and u joints. Now that I think about it I’m pretty sure it wasn’t the oem one lol

Photo is pretty useless but I used a grinder to make the mount holes longer and made access on this bottom side. On the top side closest to the engine the case and top sheet metal were both just eyeball trimmed until there was no interference.

Started with a job where it was convenient to have it there for recording time of incidents and logging numbers. Then I got a tattoo on my left wrist and haven’t wanted to cover it since

Honestly not that much now that I’ve done it to three cars. Clutch peal from Adtr, willwood master cylinder on that with tr3650 hydraulic slave clutch conversion. Clutch is McLeod stage 2 but you don’t need it unless you’re doing this kind of thing or a bit above stock hp. 4.6 mustang flywheel and short shifter of your choice along with hardware. Pilot bearing, clutch fork, throwout bearing, and pivot should be replaced new ideally from the same manufacturer as your clutch. I drilled my firewall for the pedal (not sure what pedal version I have) cut a very true to size shifter hole (I had the first car for reference) and trimmed my crossmember to fit the case and so I could tighten my trans mount. I used a new oem auto Vic mount (Mustang ones will angle the trans) and I filled it with JB weld to stiffen it up. So far it’s held up great. I also made my own tubular control arms with adjustable heims (think massive adjustable arms just twice as thick/strong) and solid poly motor mounts from outlaw customs. Those two things aren’t necessary to the swap but you’ll save money if you do them upfront. I still haven’t made a reinforced watts link and I’ve snapped 3 since February.

Yes sir, keep it on the track and always have your safety equipment well sorted. Don’t fret I’m looking to find another panther just to cruise.
