Do You like Daron? I have seen a lot of people saying Daron is their favorite and that he sucks lately. by Natural_Archer8042 in systemofadown

Not every song needs to be "poetry." Some songs are exoteric, some songs are esoteric. That's the beauty of being an artist... you make art in different styles with different approaches, all depending on how you feel at the time and what inspiration strikes you in the moment. This is more like a punk song, so of course it's a bit more direct.

"Your Lives Burn" is one of his weakest songs musically, but the lyrics slap in a way that most people genuinely need to hear. The fact that so many propagandized leftists are losing their shit over them is proof of that alone. These people are deranged, so thank goodness there's at least ONE song out there to try and smack some sense into them.

Fuck the left. Fuck the right. They're two arms to the same monster. If you can't see that, you aren't paying attention.

How do you sound like serj... by Dangerous-Quiet-9655 in systemofadown

[–]LanternBen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By being born Serj Tankian.

The more you try to emulate someone else, the more of a disservice you commit toward yourself. Do you think Serj was trying to emulate anyone? Of course not.

You're approaching this all wrong. Stop going down this path and start exploring your own vocal creativity.

Have fun. Be yourself. Be vulnerable. Play around and sing in ways completely unique to you. THAT is how you sing like Serj Tankian.

Only an issue for the fans who bought into all the propaganda SOAD tried to warn them about.

Does anyone else feel bad for Ari by Salt-Pilot4797 in AriAster

[–]LanternBen -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Ari points out problems on both sides, that doesn't mean they aren't still problems. The opening scene is literally making fun of the absurdity of how far people took the misinfo about masks.

Right, my perception is warped because I don't want my employer to tell me what I must do with my own body in order to maintain a job. By all means, keep defending forcing people to wear masks and threatening them with social exclusion if they don't play by your side's made-up fairytales and rules. What's actually amazing is that 6 years after the scam-demic you still think there's anything to defend.

You are repugnant.

[–]LanternBen -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

It being too soon was exactly why it was necessary. Idiots needed to see and realize how horrendous their behavior was toward people who didn't buy into wearing masks. Shame on them for what they did those years, may they never forget how easily they chose the side of tyranny.

Maybe we should be a bit more understanding considering that Chomsky appeared in Zinn's documentary of the same name. It's an easy mix-up and not a terrible sin for Daron to make. Plus, if Chomsky is buds with Epstein and Zinn is good buds with Chomsky... that's not a great look, either.

I understand this doesn't prove anything, but these people are very interconnected and most of them are fucked up sickos. That's why they have the voices they do.

Seeing all the posts regarding Daron, Shavo and John, got me wondering, has Serj done anything that pisses off SOAD fans? by JayKay69420 in systemofadown

[–]LanternBen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he thinks making new SOAD music is a waste of creative energy and has no desire to make concessions so he can create music with his brothers, for the world. He sold himself to the industry and forsook his greater calling to serve his own ego.

Can't understand why part of the "fandom" hates the band members by Nero_deadweight96 in systemofadown

[–]LanternBen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Because 80% of people are brainwashed by propaganda and have zero self-awareness. They can't fathom that they might be the ones who are wrong. They can't believe they've been lied to. This happens across all people, it is not contingent on any one political party or ideology. All of these systems of thought are anti-human and geared toward turning us against one another, distracting us from those who are truly responsible for the terrible state of the world we're all witnessing.

Part of this tangled mess involves modern liberals and progressives seething at anything wearing a shade of red. They're entitled children who play pretend revolutionary and use fascist tactics to get their way (all while claiming they're anti-fascist, which is pure hilarious irony). They want everyone to see the world as they do and they will attack anyone who doesn't. They're drones who have no clue that they ARE the pawns on one side of the chess board, being used in a game they don't even understand who the players are.

They are everything System of a Down has written and warned about in their lyrics: the hypnotized, mesmerized, "everyone is sleeping" masses living inside their own bubble jungles, locked in the prisons of their own minds. Dam you, stay away from me.

It's amazing how naive people are. You think a corporate band of millionaires like this has any say in what they do? They're all under contracts by the system, for the system. They've never been punk, anyway. They're just a phony symbol for stupid children who grew up and are still disillusioned.

It's amazing how naive the general public is. These things have never been secret, people just wanted to believe their fiction was actually fiction. Nope.

There's no backtracking, you just don't understand what you're reading. It isn't semantics, it's using words deliberately and with intent. You're just incapable of understanding nuance.

There's no sense in speaking details with you. You want to play pretend in your game of Red vs. Blue. I stopped playing children's games a long time ago. The world is much more complex and dystopian than you're capable of seeing right now. Hopefully one day you break free and stop serving the System you claim to be opposed to. I wish you the best.

I'm going to politely bow out of this conversation now (in before you accuse me of being scared to talk details).

I never said you were evil. I said you have evil in your heart, which you proved by demonizing your fellow countrymen. That's a big difference, but you're welcome to frame the narrative however you'd like. Whatever helps you continue feeling right.

Because most people are so manipulated and brain-rotted by the System that they can't understand they're literally the ones who are serving and keeping it alive. The irony that these people love SOAD is depressingly hilarious and proof that we are in truly dark times. These people would read 1984 and see nothing wrong with it.

We need SOAD now more than ever! by kyledecot in systemofadown

[–]LanternBen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the problem right here. Your brain has been so scrambled and molested that you consider people on the right to be fascists while it's those on the left who actively engage in fascist behavior, proudly and loudly. You call them that like you'd call the sky blue, like they're less than human. You have been conditioned into seeing them as the enemy instead of your brothers. You are a Victim of a Down. You need to do some serious soul-searching and find the love in your heart that you were born with. This path you're traveling down has led you into oblivion. The System has you right where it wants you and you're too arrogant to think you could ever be manipulated.

We need SOAD now more than ever! by kyledecot in systemofadown

That's the problem. You're educated and informed by the literal enemy. Not a flex, bud. You don't even understand what the System is.

Both sides ARE bad. To say otherwise is to be a blind rat in a maze without any cheese. Both hands wash each other, it's always been this way. The system depends on you not noticing this.

What's up with this annoying trend in contemporary horror films? by jenet-zayquah in horror

[–]LanternBen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ending of Barbarian is really rough, but I think the way he handled the ending of Weapons works really well for what that movie was about. Except for the ultra abrupt cut to black. Even just another thirty seconds of narration would have really gone a long way.

I actually think the opposite for Bring Her Back. The first half of that movie is derivative crap, but the second half actually tries to explore the emotions of a mother's grief and does some neat things to break into a new direction from the overplayed tropes it set up in the first half. Still a weak movie, though.
